The home has a friendly family atmosphere, staff are only too happy to help.
Since my friend went into the home she looks better, looked after and is putting on weight. Her family are happy as in her previous care home she was sleeping all the time, now she is more alert, so Westleigh Lodge are obviously
doing their jobs well.
Nice home.

My mum was treated so well by all of the staff during her 2-year stay but during her last 3 days before she passed away, the love and care that all the staff gave her and my family was above and beyond exceptional.
They were so loving, caring and respectful and made my mum's last days perfect.
We
have some fabulous memories. Thanks to all the staff at Westleigh Lodge.

I think my mother needs are being met well. Great care home at Westleigh Lodge. All staff are always very nice to us when we visit and very helpful. If we need any help with anything, as we looked after mam for 10 years before she came in here, we know how hard this job is to look after old age and
dementia, so many thanks for all care given and well done all.

My grandma moved into Westleigh Lodge Care Home following a long struggle with vascular dementia. My grandma was becoming very depressed and started to lie in bed every day at home. She had no quality of life and started to deteriorate. After a few weeks at Westleigh Lodge Care Home, she was dancing,
singing and has become much loved by the staff. She has a laugh and joke with all. Westleigh Lodge Care Home has certainly given her a new lease of life.

The past 4 weeks my mother has been very poorly with a chest infection. The care and attention she gets is excellent. Over the year's they have gotten to know her very well, therefore my mother know's what she wants to do and what she does not want to do. She always gets what she wants, is looked after
and treated with great care. I have got to know all the staff from top to bottom in the home. If I ever have any concern it is dealt with straight away. One big happy family.

It's amazing how the staff are so helpful, caring and loving towards my father. They all work so hard to ensure my dad and the other residents have the best experience with this terrible disease.

My husband and I had a very torrid tale prior to him becoming a resident in Westleigh Lodge. I cannot thank the manager and her team enough for their wonderful care and kindness to us both. We work very closely together to create the best environment and care my husband needs - my knowledge of him
and the team's professional knowledge and experience. The most important thing is the feeling of genuine care and affection for the residents as soon as you walk into the home. Our friends and family have also spoken of this. It's difficult to comment on activities as my husband won't engage in any.

Just a compliment on what seems to me to be a good improvement on the food the resident are receiving. From the soup through to dessert, it looks appetising, like something the visitors could eat alongside their relatives.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.520)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.520) out of 10 for Westleigh Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.570 for Westleigh Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (127 Excellents x 5) + (82 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 214 Ratings = 4.57
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Westleigh Lodge Care Home is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 48 registered maximum number of service users is 9.6, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
