My husband has been cared for at Westleigh Lodge for 2 years. I have always been happy with the care and attention that he received. Most important to me personally has been how the staff and in particular the nursing staff have supported me in sometimes difficult times. I have also been encouraged to help and join in with activities with residents, in particular, the garden which we won an award for!

My Mums stay lasted just under twelve months during which time she was treated with great care and compassion. She had 50% vascular dementia, 50% Alzheimer's, plus long term chronic pain in her spine and leg. Mum had difficulty swallowing but still enjoyed the home cooked meals, particularly the desserts! The staff are friendly, patient and skilled.

My mum sadly passed away on the 23rd of December in Westleigh Lodge Care Home. The care and attention she received during her stay there was second to none.

I have not only lost my mum but the regular contact with the staff who I consider friends. They treated my mum with the utmost respect and were very supportive to me also. I am glad that my mum passed away in Westleigh Lodge with caring people around her. Many thanks to all at Westleigh Lodge,

My wife and I had a magnificent surprise golden wedding anniversary party in the activities lounge, everyone was welcomed and all thoroughly enjoyed the celebrations. We can't thank the staff enough, everyone joined in the fun and enjoyed a superb buffet. All other residents were offered some buffet if wanted. I'm sure everyone had a brilliant day.

My mum (a resident here) and dad celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Saturday. The help and support I received in planning this event was superb. Every little detail was taken into account and it all remained a secret until the day. The activities room was decorated beautifully and I was overwhelmed when I first set eyes on it. The love, care and support that my mum and dad, and our family and friends received was (and is) second to none. I cannot thank the staff enough for the help in making this occasion very special indeed.

I visited my dad for the first time today in Westleigh Lodge. I was struck first of all by the number of staff present and attending to the residents which gave me a very positive first impression. I was received by the nurse who spent a long time explaining my dad's care to me, this was reassuring as I live abroad and don't get to visit often.
I feel confident that he is being looked after and is in a caring environment.

My only two issues are difficult as I know the situation in a dementia home 1. The odour of urine when you enter the home. 2. Dad was not wearing his own clothes (the second issue was raised and noted with the nurse).

I had never been in an EMI dementia unit before my mum came in here. I think this home is brilliant. The staff are very caring. It is clean. The food is good. To do this job of caring for people with dementia you have either got it or not got it. There is no in-between and the staff here have definitely got it 100%.

Very apprehensive about EMI Nursing but very satisfied and contented with where my mum has gone. Staff are excellent and very approachable - professional, mum settled very quickly, which made my brother and myself feel very at ease.

We are completely happy with mum's care while she has been at the home. Staff and facilities are both great. My mother is at the healthiest, both physically and mentally that she has been in recent years. We would highly recommend this home. The staff are friendly and professional, under very difficult circumstances.

Fantastic home, had relay bad experience with my mother in last care home, the manager came to my mothers rescue and assess my mother suitable for admittance into Westleigh Lodge, never looked back the staff second to none, helpful to my mother they treat her like their mother and pamper to all her needs and go the extra mile to make sure she is safe and well. The accommodation is four star hotel standard, clean and warm with them personal touches. I cannot fault this home my mother as changed in the last 12 months from a old tired looking lady to a happy lively sole. Thank you all at Westleigh Lodge from the bottom of my heart.

Mum settled in so well at Westleigh Lodge everybody made her feel so welcome. The home in Manchester was not the right place for mum to be. She was not getting the care she needed. I am so pleased with the care and attention she gets at Westleigh Lodge everybody makes her feel so loved like her family. They give her so much respect and mum respects them too. It really does feel like she is in her own home! Thank you all so much.

My mother passed away on the 17th March 2016. Mum had been a resident for nearly 3 years. Throughout her stay the staff always showed her kindness, caring, respect and treated her like she was one of their own family. My mum had to go to hospital where they diagnosed her as end of life dementia. After 3 days at hospital I requested she go back to the care home where I know she would be cared for - which she wasn't going to get at hospital. The last 5 weeks of her life the staff did everything they possibly could to make her comfortable. I would just like to say a big thank you to all staff at Westleigh Lodge for looking after my mum and me the way they did.
