Kingswood Mount Care Home is a purpose built home and is situated in Woolton, some 7 miles from Liverpool in a very quiet, pretty location, surrounded by trees and extensive private gardens.

Harbour Healthcare have very recently acquired the home and brought along extensive experience of delivering high quality, personalised care. The understanding of individual needs of nursing and residential residents, coupled with understanding the challenges faced by those who suffer the impact of dementia on their lives, will ensure that the home operates to the highest of care standards. Dedicated training and leadership will ensure that the care team benefit from this enhanced focus on all that is essential for the best of care for residents.

Kingswood Mount Care Home is undergoing a programme of updating and refurbishment. Resident rooms are being redecorated with a feature wallpapered wall with the resident choosing colours and décor. The gardens, conservatories and lounges are also receiving the same care and attention, the whole emphasis is to improve the place residents call 'home'. Harbour Healthcare strives to ensure that residents feel settled, safe and 'at home' always.

I don't normally do reviews but I do believe in giving credit when credit is due when the time came to put Mum in a care home. I was concerned as you hear some horror stories but for 18 months before my mum died I can honestly say there wasn't one issue that I could complain about.
From nurses, carers,
cleaners, handyman entertainers, I witnessed how they worked with the residents, my mum smiled every time staff were around, she certainly enjoyed her time there.
In the days leading up to Mum's death, relatives stayed in the home and all the staff could not do enough for us, even the night staff who we had never met before looked after us, nothing was too much trouble for them.
During the last few days, I really got to know how difficult their job was, as I witnessed them at work close up and I can honestly say all the staff at the home are professional, caring people and the management should be proud of them.
I wouldn't think twice about recommending Kingswood Mount.

Kingswood Mount is an extremely loving and friendly home. All the staff are very welcoming and kind, always showing support to, not only the residents but you and your wider family as well! My nan has become much more settled and content since joining the care home at the beginning of the year and I
couldn't fault the care she has received through the year so far! I know she is looked after, given the specific care she needs and treated like family. I have nothing but good words and recommendations for this care home. As well as having new management, I believe the care home will reach even better levels than they are already at and for that, as a family, we are very grateful. Thank you to everyone who puts the time, effort, skills and, most importantly, the love into looking after our nan!

Beware. Please don't put a member of your family into this care home! (I say care extremely loosely).
Takes staff 24 hours to call an ambulance after having a fall and didn't even bother to contact relatives! Food - you have two choices-take it or leave it (regardless of dietary requirements.
Nobody
ever answers the phone. Personal care is shocking and non-existant (hair hasn't been combed for weeks (excuse they've lost his comb). The carer got my dad ready for a day out, with messy hair, unshaven, no shoes, bleach all over his trousers. Never seen him wear any new clothes we have bought and not even to be found in his room? I could go on.

Before the arrival of COVID-19, the home was well run and my wife was lovingly cared for by skilled and dedicated staff, and I was able to observe this when I was welcomed into the home on my more or less daily visits. Since the arrival of COVID-19, l can’t think of the team at Kingswood Mount without
welling up. Their courage and dedication have been absolutely gobsmacking. Despite the additional procedures they have to observe (without the support of colleagues who were taken ill), they have maintained their courtesy and positivity throughout.
My wife is confined to bed with advanced dementia. I feared that, without frequent extended one-to-one visits, her mental condition would rapidly deteriorate. Now that limited visits are permitted again, l am amazed to find my fears were unjustified. How the staff managed this just seems miraculous!
I’m very glad of this opportunity to express my profound gratitude to the whole team at Kingswood Mount. You’re all amazing.

Kingswood Mount is an amazing care home, staff truly love the vulnerable people in their care. I have every confidence that my mum is in the best of hands. She was made to feel incredibly welcone from the word go. The manager even arranged transport for her from Cumbria to Liverpool. The care here extends

I’d like to applaud the amazing staff at Kingswood Mount for all their hard work and dedication during the most stressful and dangerous times.
My mother has been at the home for the past two and a half years. I cannot speak highly enough of this wonderful home. The care my mother receives is brilliant.

A caring friendly environment, where the needs of the clients come first. The home have made every effort to keep me updated on my father’s wellbeing during the current crisis and have worked hard to organise window visits. My father looks well cared for and happy, which is all I can ask. In more normal
times there are always activities taking place to keep the clients stimulated.

My mother has received excellent care in the 6 years she has been in this home. In spite of occasional very challenging behaviour she has been treated with love, respect, good humour and very professionally. The place is always clean and residents get lots of activities and stimulation appropriate to
their needs and abilities.
Over the period of lockdown my mother has continued in good spirits due to the care she is shown by all staff and carers. I have nothing but praise for this home.

Permanent staff carers are excellent, look after Mam with dignity and talk to her. Not sure when it comes to supply carers they don't know residents and some don't talk to them when giving them food/drink so I think you should employ more permanent staff.
Home is always clean, can't fault cleanliness.
All
staff very friendly with the residents.
In all, Mam looked after well, she is well-loved and I am happy with her being there.

Fantastic team at Kingswood Mount. Always go above and beyond for the clients, so much love and care given to my mum. Food is wonderful and Mum always cleans her plate. Great activities and lots of entertaining. Mum is always presentable, clean and fresh.

My mum came to Kingswood Mount in June 2016 with 9 grade 4 bedsores, with the care of the wonderful staff there, Mum's sores healed but are still vulnerable. If staff see any redness by Mum's already vulnerable sores they immediately tell the nurses. The time Mum has been there tells everything about
Kingswood Mount. Well done everyone!

My wife has severe dementia and cannot communicate because of speech and hearing problems. She was having problems making sense of her world and had to be given her medication covertly because she was refusing to take it. My two daughters and I found it impossible to satisfy her basic needs of medication,
personal hygiene/toileting and freedom from anxiety. Since admission to Kingswood Mount, she is taking her meds, smiling more frequently and showing no signs of distress, thanks largely to the professionalism and dedication of the staff.

Our dad was transferred to Kingswood Mount from the hospital in early March 2018 following a hip operation. It was our wish for him to go to Kingswood Mount as we had viewed it and heard very good things about it. We absolutely made the right decision as every member of staff we met from the manager
to the nurses, care staff, domestics and activity coordinator was truly amazing and treated my dad and ourselves with respect and dignity.


Our dad sadly passed away after a short stay but the care, love and attention he receives from every member of staff was heartwarming and made us feel special during a very difficult time. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they really went above and beyond anything we expected.


A huge thanks to all the wonderful staff at Kingswood Mount.

My dad moved to Kingswood Mount early in 2016. Throughout his time living there we've had nothing but praise for the care and support he and all of the family have received from the whole team during some very difficult and challenging times.
I've been so impressed with the professional, yet loving
approach to supporting residents in this stage of their lives and we have now also experienced "end of life care" Kingswood style and can honestly say that I wouldn't have chosen for dad to end his days anywhere else.
All of the staff, both day and night, delivered genuine, tender loving care in the last few weeks of his life, liaising with GPs to ensure he could remain at Kingswood and providing us with sustenance and hugs as required!

I can't thank the Nursing staff and care workers enough for making my mums last few months a good one. Before my mum got to Kingswood Mount she was in a terrible state due to vascular dementia, but after a few days of being cared for at this nursing home she was a totally different person and resembled
the kind and loving person she was before dementia took its toll. Thank you for caring for my Mum, and thank you for helping us get through the difficult task of saying goodbye. I would recommend this home to everyone, your loved one will get quality care and treated with dignity.

My friend was in 2 previous care homes which were not very good since moving to Kingswood Mount she has much improved, has gained weight and she is walking again. She joins in activities, she seems very happy in there and she interacts with other residents. All the above had stopped when in other homes
and she looks clean and well looked after every time I visit her. Staff are always happy and smiling and nothing is too much trouble. It is a pleasure to visit keep it up guys.

Hi, my name is John. I am the Home Manager of Kingswood Mount Care Home.


I have been a nurse since 2002 and have been a Home Manager since 2012.


What keeps me doing the role is a sense of family and community. I don’t see the nursing home just as a nursing home, I see it as a big house and at the core of the house is family. That family includes the team, the residents and the resident's families and loved ones treating each other with respect and dignity what a good family should do. It's a sense of belonging to the community that brings out the best in all of us and my home at Kingswood Mount Care Home feels like it very much belongs to the local community. A good manager involves everyone in decisions and choices that are made for the home, and I want all our families to also feel part of our big family.

Hello, my name is Clare. I am the Deputy Home Manager at Kingswood Mount Care Home.


I have worked in social care for over 20 years within dementia and residential settings across Liverpool. I joined Kingswood Mount Care Home as a Senior Care Assistant in 2015; in that time I have gained a lot of experience and knowledge within the management setting, I am also working towards completing my level 5 in leadership and management to further my skills within my role.


I take pride in working at Kingswood Mount Care Home and working alongside our incredible and talented team. I believe everyone should be treated with dignity and respect and all our team members to promote person-centred care to our wonderful residents.


I feel I am a very approachable and positive person and will always be happy to stop what I am doing to talk to anyone of our residents/staff and families.

Hello, my name is Karen. I am the Activity Co-Ordinator at Kingswood Mount Care Home.


I joined Kingswood Mount Care Home in 2014 working as a Care Assistant on days/nights which I enjoyed very much. I was then given an opportunity to apply for the activity role here at Kingswood Mount Care Home, and I am so glad I did! I find this role very rewarding and fulfilling, as to see the enjoyment that our wonderful residents get when doing activities with them is amazing. I feel I make a huge difference in their daily life and I get to spend quality time with the residents either on a 1-1 basis delivering person-centred activities or within the group. We do a wide range of activities here at Kingswood Mount Care Home throughout the day and also have live entertainers in and our residents love to have a good knees-up and a dance!
