Kingswood Mount Care Home is a purpose built home and is situated in Woolton, some 7 miles from Liverpool in a very quiet, pretty location, surrounded by trees and extensive private gardens.

Harbour Healthcare have very recently acquired the home and brought along extensive experience of delivering high quality, personalised care. The understanding of individual needs of nursing and residential residents, coupled with understanding the challenges faced by those who suffer the impact of dementia on their lives, will ensure that the home operates to the highest of care standards. Dedicated training and leadership will ensure that the care team benefit from this enhanced focus on all that is essential for the best of care for residents.

Kingswood Mount Care Home is undergoing a programme of updating and refurbishment. Resident rooms are being redecorated with a feature wallpapered wall with the resident choosing colours and décor. The gardens, conservatories and lounges are also receiving the same care and attention, the whole emphasis is to improve the place residents call 'home'. Harbour Healthcare strives to ensure that residents feel settled, safe and 'at home' always.

My friend was in 2 previous care homes which were not very good since moving to Kingswood Mount she has much improved, has gained weight and she is walking again. She joins in activities, she seems very happy in there and she interacts with other residents. All the above had stopped when in other homes
and she looks clean and well looked after every time I visit her. Staff are always happy and smiling and nothing is too much trouble. It is a pleasure to visit keep it up guys.

My 90-year-old mother moved to this home in July 2017, after her previous home closed down.
This home is excellent, the staff and management are outstanding. Facilities and activities are lovely.
I could not be happier with her current care.

Mum has really settled well over the past year and even though her illness has rendered her less mobile the level of care is still outstanding and in fact has been wonderful to witness. The family and I are so grateful to the staff here who care and maintain my mums care to such a high standard and

My Mum has dementia and moved here about four months ago. What a difference in her since then! She isn't so upset or unsettled as she had been in the previous care home. She has put on weight and is laughing and smiling a lot more. The trained staff and carers are very patient and caring to her and
she now is very settled because of their attention and kindness to her. The manager is very good and always knows how Mum is doing. The staff have a very good handover which helps with the continuity of care.

I am so impressed by the high level of care and attention my mother receives. I know that all her needs are being met which is far more than I could have achieved by having her live with me. All the staff are very caring and despite my mother's challenging behaviour at times, this care does not vary.
I know when I leave her after my visits she is safe and respected.

After viewing a lot of care homes in the Knowsley area, we found Kingswood Mount to be the best. Staff and residents were always happy and pleasant. In the first few days if being in care there was a vast improvement. To see my dad out of bed and eating by himself was a pleasure. The active movement

My mother moved here recently and I have been very impressed with the care she is receiving. There are plenty of staff and they are very approachable and helpful. My mother has settled in quickly and is enjoying the activities including a reading group, arts and crafts, gardening and singing.
I
like the fact that there is a separate conservatory we can use when I visit my mum as it's a bit quieter and gives more privacy than the main lounge. If I'm there over a meal time the staff serve my mum's meal in the conservatory so I'm able to visit at any time of day.
There is a large garden with access from the lounge and conservatory, my mother enjoys going out but needs someone to take her as she is at risk of falling; the staff are enabling her to go out regularly.
I am very pleased we chose Kingswood Mount for my mother and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nursing home for a relative with dementia.

The staff etc at Kingswood Mount are lovely and go above and beyond what is required at all times. Not only did they help my father settle in, they assisted his family in coming to terms with what was a difficult time/experience for the whole family. Cutbacks are affecting staffing, which leaves minimum staff to get residents up. The food could be improved upon, a more diverse menu, i.e including cheese and crackers as a pudding alternative. The embellishment on the corridors has improved the appearance of the home, the use of aprons at mealtimes gives it a homely feeling. The curtains are beautiful and serve a useful purpose. Occasionally I have to wait a long time to be transferred from dining room to my room. Overall I am very happy

My mum prefers to stay in her room even for her meals and the carers allow this. All carers are excellent and mum is well cared for. I do not feel there is enough stimulation in the lounge and entertainment repetitive and on the cheap. I would like mum to have some one to one time as she doesn't go
in the lounge, but she only gets this from family. Lounge is overcrowded and noisy. Entertainment in the manor house is far better.

My mother has only been in the home since June 2015. The home has only been taken over by the new owners in March 2015. We have seen vast improvements carried out and extra staff now working there. There are more permanent staff now which is far better for the residents rather than agency staff. It
is nice to see a receptionist to greet you.
The home is very secure with systems upgraded recently. There is an enthusiastic team with good leadership. My mother has now settled there, having to leave her old home quite quick due to closure. There are very good plans in place for the future and regular resident meetings to keep us updated. Staff are very pleasant and are committed to the job. They are keen to have residents families be involved. My mother feels very safe there, I would recommend it to anyone.

My mother has extensive care needs. Since she has been at Kingswood Mount, there has been a management change which has afforded a positive shift in her care and the homes décor and furnishings.
I would not hesitate to recommend this home. The staff are very caring and there are most staff per patient
than I have seen in the three years she has resided here. They show a patient centred approach to daily life and nothing is too much for them, open to new ideas and criticisms. I feel that my mother is safe and definitely happy.

Hi, my name is John. I am the Home Manager of Kingswood Mount Care Home.


I have been a nurse since 2002 and have been a Home Manager since 2012.


What keeps me doing the role is a sense of family and community. I don’t see the nursing home just as a nursing home, I see it as a big house and at the core of the house is family. That family includes the team, the residents and the resident's families and loved ones treating each other with respect and dignity what a good family should do. It's a sense of belonging to the community that brings out the best in all of us and my home at Kingswood Mount Care Home feels like it very much belongs to the local community. A good manager involves everyone in decisions and choices that are made for the home, and I want all our families to also feel part of our big family.

Hello, my name is Clare. I am the Deputy Home Manager at Kingswood Mount Care Home.


I have worked in social care for over 20 years within dementia and residential settings across Liverpool. I joined Kingswood Mount Care Home as a Senior Care Assistant in 2015; in that time I have gained a lot of experience and knowledge within the management setting, I am also working towards completing my level 5 in leadership and management to further my skills within my role.

Hello, my name is Karen. I am the Activity Co-Ordinator at Kingswood Mount Care Home.


I joined Kingswood Mount Care Home in 2014 working as a Care Assistant on days/nights which I enjoyed very much. I was then given an opportunity to apply for the activity role here at Kingswood Mount Care Home, and I am so glad I did! I find this role very rewarding and fulfilling, as to see the enjoyment that our wonderful residents get when doing activities with them is amazing. I feel I make a huge difference in their daily life and I get to spend quality time with the residents either on a 1-1 basis delivering person-centred activities or within the group. We do a wide range of activities here at Kingswood Mount Care Home throughout the day and also have live entertainers in and our residents love to have a good knees-up and a dance!
