Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My dad has been in this home from 2014, it has not long been taken over by a new manager and staff, I am very pleased with the care, warmness and kindness of all staff. Things just seem to be getting better here from day to day, with days out and furnishing throughout the care home. Staff always there
to listen to any concerns, all in all a very nice care home.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.644) out of 10 for Allerton Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.819 for Allerton Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (132 Excellents x 5) + (18 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 155 Ratings = 4.819
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.825 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Allerton Lodge is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 registered maximum number of service users is 9, which has been reached with 13 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2022

Hi, my name is John. I am the Home Manager of Allerton Lodge Care Home.

I have been a nurse since 2002 and have been a Home Manager since 2012.

What keeps me doing the role is a sense of family and community. I don’t see the nursing home just as a nursing home, I see it as a big house and at the core of the house is family. That family includes the team, the residents and the residents' families and loved ones, treating each other with respect and dignity what a good family should do. It's a sense of belonging to the community that brings out the best in all of us, and my home at Allerton Lodge Care Home feels like it very much belongs to the local community. A good manager involves everyone in decisions and choices that are made for the home, and I want all our families to also feel part of our big family.

Hello, my name is Clare. I am the Deputy Home Manager at Allerton Lodge Care Home.

I have worked in social care for over 20 years within dementia and residential settings across Liverpool. I joined Allerton Lodge Care Home as a Senior Care Assistant in 2015; in that time, I have gained a lot of experience and knowledge within the management setting. I am also working towards completing my level 5 in leadership and management to further my skills within my role.

I take pride in working at Allerton Lodge Care Home and working alongside our incredible and talented team. I believe everyone should be treated with dignity and respect, and all our team members to promote person-centred care to our wonderful residents.

I feel I am a very approachable and positive person and will always be happy to stop what I am doing to talk to any of our residents/staff and families.

Hello, my name is Karen. I am the Activity Co-Ordinator at Allerton Lodge Care Home.

I joined Allerton Lodge Care Home in 2014, working as a Care Assistant on days/nights, which I enjoyed very much. I was then given an opportunity to apply for the activity role here at Allerton Lodge Care Home, and I am so glad I did! I find this role very rewarding and fulfilling, as seeing the enjoyment that our wonderful residents get when doing activities with them is amazing. I feel I make a huge difference in their daily life, and I get to spend quality time with the residents either on a 1-1 basis, delivering person-centred activities or within the group. We do a wide range of activities here at Allerton Lodge Care Home throughout the day, and also have live entertainers in, and our residents love to have a good knees-up and a dance!
