My mother was a resident at Moss View for 6 years until her death in February. My father has been resident here for 3 years. Moss View's greatest asset has always been the staff. Nursing, administration, and ancillary. They are and have always been efficient, caring, considerate and cheerful. We could not have asked for more. I have no hesitation in recommending Moss view, to everyone, without reservation

Family friend not been here very long, however, so far, from very few visits it appears to be a great place. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming and my friend seems happy with the events/entertainment available and has recommended on how great the food is!

I always found the management and staff to be most obliging and courteous to both my wife and myself.

Their workload is tremendous, having regard to the variety of tasks they have to perform, which they do so cheerfully. Having cared for my wife at home, I can readily appreciate what is required of them. Regrettably, there were times when assistance was not as readily forthcoming as would be desired due entirely to the fact that like most of the hospitals and care homes, there is understaffing.

Placing a relative in a care home is daunting. We experience all the emotions expected such as worry and anxiety however, we were relieved at finding Moss View. The care home has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are genuine, caring and compassionate, everyone has a smile for the residents and their families. Every member of staff is fantastic, the carers, the domestics, the kitchen staff and the management all do a wonderful job. The care our dad received throughout his stay was second to none and the family were able to continue being a family without the worry of looking after someone with dementia.

Staff are great. My mother although has passed away now was well looked after by the staff. The home could do with upgrading and all rooms should have vinyl floors because the carpets stink. It could do with a good upgrade on everything food was poor and didn't fit criteria in the brochure.

Reply from HC-One, Careline Team at Moss View Care Home
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review. We really value the feedback provided by those who use our services.

We are replacing the carpets as part of the refurbishment. In the meantime we have purchased a new carpet washer which has eliminated the odours from the carpet.

My husband moved into Moss View in the summer of 2016. He had terminal cancer and was funded by CHC. The staff in the home provided wonderful care and dietary needs and made the last months of his life as good as they could be. They were also very caring and supportive of me, my sons and our extended family. The manager and two of the staff attended his funeral which was wonderful and he would have appreciated that.

We came here after strong recommendations from relatives and friends. A room was immediately made available which was a real bonus - thank you. Although a short stay mum was made to feel at home and we thank you for this.

Our mum had been a resident at Moss View Nursing Home for two and a half years until September 2016 when she passed away. Our mum's care at the home was outstanding, the care staff worked to ensure mum and the rest of our family were kept up to date with any reviews and GP visits. Each and every member of staff could not have done any more than they had to ensure mum's care was excellent. Staff have supported our family as if we were their own. I cannot thank Moss View enough. Oustanding.

The staff are hard working, kind and considerate. The home itself requires some upgrading of the facilities, both for the safety of the clients and visitors. Always been treated in a friendly and supportive way. Sometimes the rigorous timetable of changing patients who are incontinent means that they may be left in discomfort for some time.

Reply from Tracy Johnson, Operations Director at Moss View Care Home
Thank you for your kind comments regarding our staff at Moss View, they work very hard to ensure all our residents are cared for to a high standard.

My sister is a resident in 'Moss View Care Home'. Since she has been there, she has been looked after really well. All her needs are catered for. The staff are welcoming and friendly and if I have any worries they are sorted out. The home is well maintained and clean. The food is lovely and all of the family are looked after when we visit. There are also plenty of activities for the residents and the families are always invited.

My dad was moved to Moss View from hospital. On his first day he was settled in as quickly as possible. Unfortunately his time here was short but he was cared for so well and all his needs were met. He passed so peacefully on a beautiful spring day in a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were all so supportive to me as well. From my 1st visit to view the home to his final day everyone was so friendly, helpful and informative. I could not have asked for anything more.

During the last few weeks I have not been too well. On top of my Multiple Myeloma and spiral cord compression, I developed another problem. I was on the floor, I turned to the nurses. They came and the compassion I received was second to none. You can't buy it.

With their help I was able to come out of it. They made it much easier for me to deal with. What an example to their profession. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you from my mum. My mum was in Moss View Care Home for ten years and in all that time she was always treated with dignity and love, as a visitor I was always made to feel welcome and I felt I made many friends because it was such a friendly place to be in. Everyone of the staff, cleaners and the management gave 100% and I will miss going in to see them.

The family were very upset putting mum in a care home as it was getting difficult looking after her. It was the best thing for mum. She is up and about now interacting with people. I would recommend Mossview to anyone. My mum is treated with kindness, dignity and respect by all the staff (who are excellent) hard working and dedicated.

My father spent the last year of his life at MossView. He was so happy. They cared for him like a member of the family and he could truly say he felt very much 'at home' (something he never thought he would say about living in a nursing home). Despite being one of the most dependent residents, he was never made to feel like he was putting anyone out when he needed help. He was always cared for promptly and with compassion. The rapport he had with the staff was heartwarming to watch, they truly made him feel very special and maintained his dignity at all times.

The standard of nursing care was very high (speaking as a nurse myself). He was always referred to other services as soon as required and this was always followed up on so there was never a delay; whether he needed to see a doctor, Physio, OT, Tissue Viability Nurse etc or whether he just needed his ears syringed or hearing aid checked.

The food is of a very high standard, and when dad didn't feel like eating what was on offer, they would make him whatever he asked for.

Dad's room was not big, but it had a lovely view over the gardens.

I would highly recommend this nursing home to anyone. Finding a good care home for your loved one is a minefield. Dad spent time in 2 other care homes before this one which left him traumatised. The staff in this home cared for him on every level with compassion and respect. For that I am truly grateful.

I want to congratulate the manager on the amazing job she does maintaining the highest possible standard of care for the most vulnerable members of our society.

To the Manager and every member of staff, thank you.
