Moss View care home, located in the the attractive, semi-rural town of Huyton, on the outskirts of Liverpool, offers personalised residential, nursing and residential dementia care to older people.

The purpose-built home offers a range of single and en-suite bedrooms, as well as a fantastic wellbeing and activities programme, which includes regular coffee mornings and gardening activities.

The professional care team at Moss View take the time to learn about each resident’s individual hobbies and interests, helping them to lead an active and fulfilling life. We have been involved at Moss View for about 3 weeks but I have to say we are very happy with the residential care being provided for my dad. The administration and nursing ide of a very high standard and nothing is too much trouble. Dad has settled in a great quicker than we had imagined and we put
that down to the staff who have all been marvellous. Thank you Moss View.

My mother has been a resident since March 2016 during that time mam has suffered a stroke which has left her vocabulary very limited. My family and I, during the time mam has been here, we could not wish for a better team looking after her. Keep up the good work.

Mum has been a resident since January 2017, a difficult time for the family but the home and staff have been great looking after Mum and all her needs. The very few issues we may have had have all been dealt with an responded to by the professional staff. Mum is very settled and all the staff go out

Our Mum joined Moss View January 2018. she is looked after so much we, the family, can't thank everyone enough. Their care is so fantastic we tell the staff every time we visit.

My mum resided in Moss View, Dodd wing for two years up to her death in October 2017. My mum was extremely looked after by the manager and staff of Dodd wing. As a family, we will always be truly grateful for the care she received there. Person-centred care was forefront in the staff's practice.


Not

only did the staff support my mum but as a family, they supported us, especially through the difficult times, and leading up to her passing away. The staff work extremely hard, including the housekeepers and activity staff, and my mum was always spotless, as was her bedroom. My mum loved all the staff and as a daughter if gave me great satisfaction and peace that I knew she was well cared for. Moss View was recommended to me by a consultant psychiatrist, and as we are a family of nurses, we can not praise the staff enough for their true genuineness and professionalism.


Thank you all so very much, we will never forget your kindness.

My mum went into Moss View in October 2017. She has mixed dementia. From day 1, I felt my mum has been well cared for. The staff in this unit are very caring. I feel they know my mum, her personality, her likes and dislikes, the food she can and can't eat. Mum is always clean and well dressed. Her hair
is styled neatly. These are the little touches that make a difference to me. Mum eats well and the food is a good standard. Mum even put on 2 kilos in her first few weeks. If I have any concerns, I can speak to any member of staff and I know they listen and action any worries I have. Any of our family or friends can see mum anytime and nothing is ever an inconvenience for the staff at Moss View.

I can only say positive things. Mum appears to have been very happy during her respite stay. We have not visited as we live the other end of the country by my phone the staff have always been friendly and helpful. My elderly aunt visited and was very impressed - said it was a lovely home.

My mum is very happy at Moss View. It is mostly down to the staff, they are so lovely. She has been in Moss View for over 2 years now.


Mum is in Dodd unit and we are very happy with her care. The décor could be better and needs to be brighter.

I find the care to be of a good standard. Carers are all pleasant and friendly. The care home is in need of refurbishment and looks very drab. The EMI unit does not smell fresh when you walk in and is in need of a deep clean. The tables and chairs and the small kitchen in EMI dining are not clean.

Family friend not been here very long, however, so far, from very few visits it appears to be a great place. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming and my friend seems happy with the events/entertainment available and has recommended on how great the food is!

I always found the management and staff to be most obliging and courteous to both my wife and myself.
Their workload is tremendous, having regard to the variety of tasks they have to perform, which they do so cheerfully. Having cared for my wife at home, I can readily appreciate what is required of
them. Regrettably, there were times when assistance was not as readily forthcoming as would be desired due entirely to the fact that like most of the hospitals and care homes, there is understaffing.

Placing a relative in a care home is daunting. We experience all the emotions expected such as worry and anxiety however, we were relieved at finding Moss View. The care home has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are genuine, caring and compassionate, everyone has a smile for the residents and their
families. Every member of staff is fantastic, the carers, the domestics, the kitchen staff and the management all do a wonderful job. The care our dad received throughout his stay was second to none and the family were able to continue being a family without the worry of looking after someone with dementia.

Staff are great. My mother although has passed away now was well looked after by the staff. The home could do with upgrading and all rooms should have vinyl floors because the carpets stink. It could do with a good upgrade on everything food was poor and didn't fit criteria in the brochure.

My husband moved into Moss View in the summer of 2016. He had terminal cancer and was funded by CHC. The staff in the home provided wonderful care and dietary needs and made the last months of his life as good as they could be. They were also very caring and supportive of me, my sons and our extended
family. The manager and two of the staff attended his funeral which was wonderful and he would have appreciated that.

Our mum had been a resident at Moss View Nursing Home for two and a half years until September 2016 when she passed away. Our mum's care at the home was outstanding, the care staff worked to ensure mum and the rest of our family were kept up to date with any reviews and GP visits. Each and every member
of staff could not have done any more than they had to ensure mum's care was excellent. Staff have supported our family as if we were their own. I cannot thank Moss View enough. Oustanding.

As a dedicated healthcare professional, Richard has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and support to elderly people to enrich their lives. He is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for residents.


Having worked in the care sector as a qualified adult nurse for many years, Richard closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. He extends this caring approach to his colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what he enjoys most about his role, Richard remarked:
“I have always enjoyed working with people and like to make a difference to the people that I care for. I enjoy solving problems and finding solutions that meet the needs of my residents.”


Richard has also achieved much outside of work, with his proudest achievement being earning a degree as a mature student.


Outside of work, Richard enjoys spending time with his family and travelling in the UK and abroad on holiday.
