Moss View care home, located in the the attractive, semi-rural town of Huyton, on the outskirts of Liverpool, offers personalised residential, nursing and residential dementia care to older people.

The purpose-built home offers a range of single and en-suite bedrooms, as well as a fantastic wellbeing and activities programme, which includes regular coffee mornings and gardening activities.

The professional care team at Moss View take the time to learn about each resident’s individual hobbies and interests, helping them to lead an active and fulfilling life. In addition to the range of activities available, the team also encourages residents to take an active role in the Huyton community, recognising the importance of social connection.

My mum became a resident at Moss View Care Home in recent months as in need of nursing care. I was unsure at the time what to expect but in all honesty, I have been encouraged and comforted by the standard of care given to my mum. Entering the home we are always greeted with a welcoming smile and staff
always make themselves available if I need to speak to them. No matter what time of day I visit my mum is always content and well presented. My heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Moss View.

Due to circumstances, this is not the first care home my Mum has been in, but it is undoubtedly the best in terms of level of care and organisation. The staff are always welcoming and polite to us and Mum's room is spacious and clean. All of Mum's needs have been catered for here and her well-being
is regularly reviewed - communication from the home is excellent.

My dad was a resident of Moss View Care Home for fourteen months. Right the way through he was cared for and he was treated with respect, dignity and love. We have been always aware Dad was in the right place. The staff have been fantastic.

My mum-in-law has been a resident for a few years and has been well looked after by some wonderful staff. The home has experienced a few management changes in the last few years which, I think, can be unsettling for both staff and residents alike. I hope there will be a long-term manager in place in
future and that the wonderful hard-working staff will be appreciated.

My mum was a resident in Moss View; the care she got was fantastic. All staff were fab, and they had activities for the residents and days out. Cannot fault the staff at all. The management at the time my mum was there until she padded away could have been better. Cannot say what it is like now.

From March 2020 until July 2021 as a family member with my mum living at the care home was scary and uncertain at times living through this COVID pandemic. Since July 19th, life as we know it before (having been visiting here since April 2019) is slowly getting back to some normality. The staff have
been very understanding, showing excellent care for my mum every day. Can't praise them all enough for keeping my mum safe.

Mum has been a resident at Moss View for nearly four years now. As a family (sister, brother and I) we couldn't ask for a better care facility. Staff see to all aspects of Mum's care. Physically, emotionally and mentally. Mum has vascular dementia, with a collection of complex health needs and is registered
blind. All aspects of Mum's needs are delivered to a very high standard. All staff have a genuine interest in mum's well being. It brings great comfort to us as a family knowing that Mum is safe and being well looked after especially in these difficult times of COVID and not being able to visit her. I highly recommend Moss View.

Moss View have taken care of my mum for over ten years and still counting, bless her cotton socks.
I would like to inform you that I chose Moss View with my sister during a tormented time.
I have seen many, many care homes and it’s a pleasure to inform you that the care Moss View
provides is a clear standard above the rest.
Staff are so friendly, polite but moreover, it’s the quality of the care that takes my breath away.

The care given to my mother at this care home is excellent. The staff are excellent in the way they deal will all matters of care. The management team, nurses and staff all play their part as a team. They treat my mother with respect and care as a family we are so grateful for that.

My father was fast-tracked from hospital for palliative care and we could not have found a nicer, more caring place. From the moment we entered the home we felt it was more homely and spacious compared to other homes we visited. A word of advice, don't just go for the homes that show an excellent rating
as others with slightly less good overall scores are also worth considering as they may have been marked down on a minor issue which has since improved, and Moss View is a great example of this. The staff were absolutely wonderful, the rooms were great, allowing us to take personal bits from home including Dad's own TV which he was used to. The food was also good. Initially, Dad perked up, so much so that the manager arranged for one of the staff to escort him to my wedding which was just incredible, and we are so grateful to the home for arranging this. Sadly Dad has now passed on but, boy, he had a very happy last few months thanks to Moss View.

As a dedicated healthcare professional, Richard has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and support to elderly people to enrich their lives. He is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for residents.


Having worked in the care sector as a qualified adult nurse for many years, Richard closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. He extends this caring approach to his colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what he enjoys most about his role, Richard remarked:
“I have always enjoyed working with people and like to make a difference to the people that I care for. I enjoy solving problems and finding solutions that meet the needs of my residents.”


Richard has also achieved much outside of work, with his proudest achievement being earning a degree as a mature student.


Outside of work, Richard enjoys spending time with his family and travelling in the UK and abroad on holiday.
