In my family's experience, the management team and staff treat the residents with care, respect and dignity. We are kept well informed about any issues arising for our parents and they have always been dealt with swiftly and appropriately. The team manage to make the atmosphere homely and welcoming
for residents and for us as a family. The staff are genuinely committed to their work and we are so grateful for what our parents have received.

My mum in law had been a resident at The Brunswick for around 18 months, before sadly passing in February, within this time the manager and the team were always, kind, compassionate and professional. Her weight was very low when she arrived and the chef would often make her “off menu” meals that would
tempt her to eat. In the beginning she was slightly more mobile progressing to needing two carers to mobilise her this was never treated as a chore and always done with a smile and encouraging chat. Post Christmas she was admitted into hospital which progressed to end of life care, The Brunswick welcomed her (and all of the family) back with love, support and dignity for her final weeks, during this time she was turned constantly to eliminate the worry of bed sores her medication was always administered promptly. The home is spotlessly clean with carers that genuinely care. This was our first experience of care homes and I would honestly feel confident to recommend The Brunswick and team.

My mum had been in the Brunswick for the past eighteen months and passed away there at the start of February. Throughout her stay she has always been treated well by all the staff, from the carers to the cleaning team, the kitchen team and everyone we came into contact with. The level of respect and
warmth never failed to impress me. Mum's end-of-life care at the Brunswick, whilst being an incredibly sad time, was also one that allowed us all to share some special moments with her, and there wasn't anything that the Brunswick team could have done more to help, be that from dropping in to say hello and share a story, to bringing up a cup of tea, unasked, just because they knew it was needed. The actions of the Brunswick team directly helped to turn this sad period into one that also had moments of happiness and that we as a family are able to look back on in a positive way, which is a great comfort at this time.

The Brunswick accepted our father as an emergency case one late Saturday evening after a fall meant he could no longer safely live alone. He was given a choice of rooms and picked the one he liked best.
The Brunswick is spotlessly clean and warm, and the staff have always been lovely with him and
helped him to settle into a new way of life.
We are moving him today only so he can be closer to his existing social network. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Brunswick to others.

In the short time my father stayed with you, he was treated with the utmost respect, care and dignity.
Also, the professionalism and consideration shown to his family at all times were exemplary and we are so glad he spent his last days being looked after by a special team of people.

My mother initially went for two weeks respite but is still in residence six months later. She has settled and her anxiety has decreased which means she is happier and her sense of humour has returned. She loves the location and makes the most of being on Lord Street, either watching the world go by
or enjoying a stroll.

I have found that The Brunswick Care Home is excellent in every way. CQC should rate this care home top at all times. I love it here and I hope to continue to live here. I am treated with dignity, respect, care and understanding by all the staff.

OK, this care home is located at the south end of Lord Street - a world-class shopping street in the superior holiday resort of Southport. A beach, leisure lake and other facilities are minutes away (see Southport Tourist Board brochure for details). The climate's clement - 'Sunny Southport' - The town
also hosts world golfing events. The town always has an influx of world tourists, giving it an ambience that other towns may lack. Residents are urbane, polite and friendly - as are the staff. I have a TV in my room and am able to buy my newspaper daily - as I can buy whatever I wish, within reason.

The care and loving consideration for all needs is second to none. The care for personal needs is always dealt with. I can't fault the food, always more than enough. Tablets - explained what they are giving. Staff have an extremely hard job and they do it with great pride and I admire them all for that.

I have no hesitation in recommending The Brunswick Care Home to anyone who is thinking of placing relatives there. My father was a full-time resident for nearly two years and I could not ask for anything more from all the staff, who are a dedicated team and have the residents' best interests at heart.
The care and attention they pay the residents is second to none, even in these uncertain times of the Covid pandemic.

Our father had been a resident at The Brunswick for about 2 years. The care he received during that time was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble for the team and managers to make him comfortable, happy and safe. This high level of care did not falter during his time there and in these unprecedented
times too, was invaluable to both myself and my sister, especially in lockdown. The team are wonderful with the residents and it was lovely to see our father laughing in his time there and also what was to, unfortunately, be his final months too. The team and managers were extremely supportive of both our father and us throughout his time there. The Brunswick is exceptionally clean and well maintained. The meals are lovely and plentiful. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending it and would like to personally thank the team for caring for our father during his time there.

My mum was always adamant that she wouldn’t end up in care. However, her transition from hospital, following a fall, to the Brunswick couldn’t have been smoother. This is mainly down to the professionalism of the care team. They are always friendly, polite and calm, no matter how pressured. They treat
all the residents as individuals and they are all addressed by their names. My mum is encouraged to eat by the excellent catering team. The facilities and upkeep of the home also make a huge difference to my mum’s rehabilitation. I have peace of mind knowing that my mum is in safe hands.

Mum has perked up since moving in. She has many needs and seems to be very happy. She loves the quizzes and the attention she gets. Caring is a strength tapping job but all the staff there do a marvellous job. Just to see her content is a Godsend. They get her ready for visitors and to see the joy on
her face is priceless. I get time to spend with her and see she is happy.

My grandmother has recently moved to The Brunswick after spending a month in hospital. Staff have showed great compassion, have helped ease the transition and are very knowledgeable on process. Nothing has been too much trouble. This really gives me comfort that my 97 year old grandmother is being looked

My elderly parents were discharged from hospital to the Brunswick Care Home in March 2021 for a period of Respite care. Prior to this they had both lived at home independently so I can only imagine that staying in a care home would be unsettling for them. As a Nurse myself, with previous experience
of working in Care Homes, I was worried about the care they may or may not receive. I am very happy with the care home. The staff are so caring and accommodating - nothing is too much trouble. Most importantly, Mum and Dad are happy. The first time I visited with my six-year-old son, the staff made me feel so welcome. One care worker, in particular, went above and beyond to make the visiting experience positive for my son too. Nice decor/good food/facilities are all important (all are of a high standard too) but caring, committed staff for me, is what any care home needs and that is what the Brunswick provide. A home from home experience. Thank you to the manager and all your staff.

I would definitely not recommend this home.
Do not be deceived by the decor. In our families opinion, it’s the only good thing about the home.
In my opinion, it needs improvement in all areas, not just the ones highlighted by the CQC report.

I am so pleased and relieved that my Uncle has settled so well into the Brunswick Care Home. He has a lovely room where he can watch tv and do his jigsaws and crosswords quietly. He also thoroughly enjoys all his meals especially his breakfasts! It is also lovely to have the Pod where we can see him
in these difficult times. Staff often go out of their way to ensure he is ok and it gives me a lot of relief and peace of mind that he is being so well cared for and looked after. Thank you to all the staff who work so hard.
