Nestled within the attractive area of Wallasey, close to the River Mersey, Leighton Court care home offers personalised residential, nursing and nursing dementia care to older people.

The purpose-built home has a range of comfortable and tastefully decorated en-suite rooms, as well as a hair salon and a pretty, landscaped garden, which is a very popular spot to relax and watch the world go by.

At Leighton Court, residents benefit from a range of lovely dining areas where they can relax and enjoy an intimate dining experience with family and friends, taken care of by the amazing catering team.

Dad has settled really well into his new home Leighton Court. We as a family were apprehensive because Dad doesn't cope well with change. All the staff should be proud of the way they contribute to Leighton Court being the happy, friendly place it is. The staff go above and beyond their role. They are
attentive, and approachable and nothing is too much trouble. Leighton Court has a happy, warm and welcoming atmosphere. We can go home knowing Dad is in safe hands and he is secure.

As a relatively new resident at Leighton Court, my mother-in-law has been very pleased with her experience to date. The nurses in particular have been very helpful. As her next of kin, I try to visit several times a week and I have also been happy with what I have seen. All my dealings with the staff
have been very good and any issues dealt with promptly. Most of the staff are very friendly, remember my name and go out of their way to speak with me.

Everybody here has looked after me from day staff and night staff and cleaners. They all go out of their way to make my stay here as comfy as possible. I am a shy person but everyone made me feel so welcome.

I was sent here from hospital to recuperate after leg surgery. On arrival the two ambulance ladies tried to find out where they should take me, someone pointed to a lift and said upstairs, this was the same, with staff staring at me open mouthed. The ambulance crew gave my name and a staff member showed
me to a room, she went to leave so I asked about the day room and the dining room, she replied “oh no you definitely won’t want to go into the day room and all your meals will be brought to your room, the shower works on a rota and I can use it once a week” she also pointed out the en-suite toilet. The room stank of stale urine, the bed had bitty grey sheets and when I went to use the toilet it looked like a small cupboard with a large bucket with a toilet seat on, I couldn’t even get my wheel chair in.
I could write so much more, needless to say I left within an hour of arriving. This place is not for rehab. I am 61 and they called me the baby of the place.

From other reviews, you will see that we pride ourselves on offering a personal welcome. Everyone in the home is welcome to use the lounge and dining areas and are actively encouraged to do so. Please be assured we will be discussing with staff about their approach and our expectations. Our en-suite facility bedrooms offer adequate space and are maintained to a high standard; we are sorry your wheelchair requirements caused an issue in this respect however this could have been accommodated on request. Our home is very successful in offering rehabilitation for those in need and we cater to all age ranges. We are sorry you felt it was not suitable.

This is the second time my mum has been in Leighton Court. In her words, "They feed you all". Also, the carers are very nice, they were really pleased to see her back and are always pleasant and help wherever you ask.

If you need a home from home, a place where you are treated with respect and kindness, where consideration of your needs and wishes are paramount and laughter, humour and quality of life are important - you will find all of that at Leighton Court. Good quality food, warmth, comfort and basic human kindness
are on constant offer. We are glad we found Leighton Court.

Leighton Court cared for my dad in his last six weeks of life. Nothing was too much trouble for the nurses and staff, and they made us, as a family, and Dad very welcome and comfortable. They did everything to help Dad as his illness got worse and treated him with the utmost dignity and respect. Not
to mention, the home was always beautifully clean and laundry spotless. As Dad's last few days approached, they let me stay with Dad, looking after me too. I will be forever grateful... you are all angels.

My mum was taken into care in February 2020. I had reservations at first, like most son's would, but the variety with Mum and the staff at the Leighton has been nothing bu excellent.
My mum is being cared for by the best people I could ever of hoped for. They are the best - top to bottom.

Nothing is too much trouble the staff are brilliant. The food is a good variety. The medical side is excellent as my wife and I found that they detected an illness during the early hours of the morning. The cleanliness is second to none. I can't speak highly enough of the staff, facilities, activities and management of Leighton Court. From the start Dad has been cared for exceptionally well. Nothing is too much trouble. Anytime we ask for something it is carried out almost immediately. The staff are caring, friendly and treat Dad as if he is one of their own. Thank you very much from Dad's family.

Since moving in January, mother has settled in very well with her Parkinsons. As a family, we were concerned initially about how Mum would adjust but the staff at the home made her feel welcome despite the language barrier. We had seen a lot of homes prior to choosing Leighton Court Care Home. The staff
and the management must be commended on the high level of care and compassion shown to Mum.
