My Uncle is in the best place ever where he is safe, cared for and respected. The staff are outstanding and despite almost eight months before I found out where he was, he had arrived at the home being transferred from the hospital in only pyjamas. As no next of kin was on his file, they managed to
source clothing for him from donations, so he was given some dignity. The staff were genuinely in tears when I showed up, they had been caring for a man who they thought had no one, but someone they gave everything to, to make his life better. He is a challenging character, but deep down beneath that, tear down the layers - and there is a gentle and extremely funny soul and I'm glad everyone gets to see that. I can't even begin to know how to thank the staff who work there, because it certainly appears everyone goes above and beyond in providing care, respect, dignity and compassion. My dog also comes along on the visits and he is always welcomed by the other residents. Outstanding caring staff.

My Sister was a resident at this care home but sadly died in December 2019. All the staff were very caring, and I just do not know what I would have done without them. They always made me feel welcome when I visited and treated the residents with love and respect.
Thank you all so much.

This home is the best I have been to and, due to the nature of my business, I have seen many. Staff are very caring and friendly and have been here a considerable time. My wife is well looked after.

My Dad had been in County Homes Care home since February 2019. They have loved, looked after him and kept him warm and safe. Special mention goes to two certain members of staff who loved him like their own father, and supported me so much as well. Everyone is treated like an individual and I have never
experienced so much love and attention. They were as concerned as much about me as well, amazing girls.

Excellent caring staff who went above and beyond care for our mum. The staff were always supportive towards the family, most noticeably in the last days of mums life. As in the care service, more staff are always required to meet the areas.
Mum's room was fine and assume it will now be painted prior
to the next resident taking up occupancy. Retention of staff is a priority to provide continuity for residents and families which he received.

The home is all I could wish for. The staff are amazing, so helpful with my wife. She looks years younger. The attention to all the people in the home is lovely to watch, caring is first class. Once again thanks for all you do.

My parents have been in County Homes for three years. All of the staff are very supportive and friendly. The activities are varied and Dad, in particular, likes to join in and go on days out.
The home is clean and welcoming with a lovely 'cafe' area that visitors can use with their relatives.

My Aunty has advanced Dementia and has previously been in a residential home and another nursing home on the Wirral. She has had to move from these because of her challenging behaviour. We are delighted so far with the care my Aunt has received. She is always up and dressed when we visit, which can
be 10am. She is always clean, including her nails and teeth which has previously been a challenge. She has been allowed to wear trousers which the other home couldn't manage. It is very evident that the staff are well trained in dementia care which has benefited my Aunt. She is not as distressed when her personal care is attended to. The policy of living more as a community rather than being in her own room for long periods, we believe helps her feel less isolated and has diminished some of her frustration. The staff manage to give a homely atmosphere which is what we all would like for our loved ones. We also appreciate the 'cafe' facility for residents to use when family visit.

My mother was really well cared for by a great team who were always good to deal with. The atmosphere was friendly, with residents and guests being treated with respect at all times.

The building and facilities may have been a little 'tired', but this was more than compensated for by the team of

carers who often went above and beyond expectations - they were outstanding.

My father has been in this home since early September 2017 and from the start, the staff have been brilliant. They cannot do enough for dad and are excellent in knowing how to distract and manage when he gets agitated or distract him when we are leaving after a visit. The place is always clean.
The
staff are also very helpful and friendly to the family and friends visiting dad.

I would like to thank all the staff at County Homes for the kindness they showed to our Mum and our family. Most people who read reviews do so to see the type of home they will be placing their loved one; this is no easy task and one that is not taken lightly. By the time our family had started to look
for respite care we were at breaking point and someone recommend County Homes. From the time Mum went in, the staff reassured us that we had made the right decision and having witnessed so many acts of kindness to the residents, this made us feel happy leaving her in their care. The staff are so professional but this is tempered by them being able to give a hug and reassurance to the resident then sit and comfort them till they felt better, these acts of kindness made myself and my family feel reassured that they were the right people to look after our treasured mum. Their philosophy is justified and proven on a daily basis, they are a caring company.

The home my dad is in I can't thank them enough as they are really caring towards the residents. They have good food and lots of treats throughout the day. The whole staff from cleaners to head carers are so helpful and welcoming towards the families. The entertainment staff are great and they have
something on most days. Overall I am really pleased with the care my dad is receiving.

Having been forced to remove our mother from her previous care home due to its patent unsuitability, our next choice for her was always going to be some cause for concern.
However, from our initial contact with the home manager, we knew we were making the right decision.
I have nothing but the utmost
praise for the home itself - its facilities; its cleanliness; its professionalism.
The staff are wonderful - always patient, always caring - even under difficult circumstances.
Sadly our mother passed away on 5th November, but we will be forever grateful to everyone at County Home for making her last painful months all the more bearable.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (9.010)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (9.010) out of 10 for County Homes Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.610 for County Homes Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (68 Excellents x 5) + (33 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.61

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.4 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for County Homes Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 90 registered maximum number of service users is 18. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 18 = 0.5

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
