Staff are welcoming of visitors at any time. Staff are caring and interested in their resident's conditions so as to support them adequately. Staff and management always have time to answer questions. I have no concerns about care.

Overall Experience
My mum has been a resident at Dundoran for the past four years. She has dementia and age related macular degeneration. When she arrived Mum was at a very low ebb. Over a short period of time, there was a great improvement due to the kindness and dedication of the staff. Living a long distance from the Wirral, I am not able to visit as often as I would like to. When I do visit I find the staff welcoming. There is a feeling of warmth towards the residents and that their individual needs are known and met.

Activities are good and varied and Mum especially enjoys the lively and interactive poetry sessions. Mum's room always feels clean and fresh. Contact with management is excellent and I am frequently updated on any issues or concerns. I feel very reassured that such good care is being taken of mum.

A friend and I have been going into Dundoran for seven years now. We are volunteers who take a poetry session for an hour one afternoon every week. The Reader Organisation introduced us to the home and provided supervision and all the resources we needed at first, when that grant stopped we kept on as volunteers because we enjoyed the sessions. The residents appreciated us (and the poems), the staff were welcoming, we met the same staff each week and we feel as if we make a genuine contribution to the life of the home.

My mother is resident here. She has dementia and was admitted from hospital for 'end of life' care. In her time here, she has shown huge improvement from her previous home, who declined her after her spell in hospital. Apart from one setback (a fall), she seems content in

Dundoran. Whenever I visit, she is always clean and well dressed (sometimes stays in bed). Staff are always pleasant, the manager is very professional, food always looks ok too.

My mum went to Dundoran after her previous home said they couldn't manage her because of a downturn in her ongoing dementia. Dundoran have been marvellous with her. Since arriving she looks cleaner, always nicely dressed and altogether seems more settled and a lot happier.
The staff seem to genuinely care and like the residents and are so warm and caring towards my mum.

The staff will ring me if there are any problems with mum's health and are very proactive in giving and getting mum the best care possible.

This nursing home is a really nice friendly home. The staff are all kind and really great at their jobs. The home is clean and tidy. The rooms are nice and clean. The nurses are all fantastic. The management do a great job. The chef and kitchen staff do a fantastic job. The food is first class and they do whatever they can to feed mum whatever she likes. I am so happy we found this home for my mum I doubt there would be a better one.

I live a long way away from the nursing home and can only visit at certain times. However the home has always been very courteous and helpful and I am confident they are taking good care of my mum who is aged 103.

Overall Experience

My husband had a massive stroke, heart attack and lost the use of his right side and has vascular dementia. This happened on the 5th November 2015. He was in hospital for eight weeks and slowly improved, i.e he was able to walk with aids, but very unstable. His dementia also seemed to be worse. Eventually he was in an assessment ward and was discharged on Boxing day. I had found a care home Dundoran, as I am 84 and he is 87. I felt I would not be able to manage at home. It was a hard decision for me but I know I did the right thing as he is settling down, is eating well, and is walking with the aid of carers. I know he is getting well looked after. Excellent management and carers who take their job seriously. I made a good decision.
