Nazareth House is a wonderful, caring, warm place with the most wonderful kind team of people. I cannot speak highly enough of them. From my mum’s arrival in October, for what was potentially going to be just a temporary respite stay, through to the peaceful end to her life after about 6 months in Nazareth House, she was cared for in the truest sense of that word. Far more than just being looked after, she was surrounded by love, warmth and compassion for her as an individual. Helping her get to Mass in the Chapel when she was able meant a great deal to her. What’s more, we as a family always felt welcomed at Nazareth House. Little touches like knowing our names, coming and talking to us about how Mum is, bringing another chair and offering us a cup of tea – they may seem small, but make a world of difference when visiting regularly, especially towards the end of life.

If you're looking at reviews for nursing homes then it is probably because someone you love needs care. This happened quite quickly for Mum, as it does for many. With the best will in the world, it is just impossible to stay at home. Nazareth House was a brilliant next step for Mum. I felt such a sense of relief when the staff came to see her at home and said that they could help her. Her room at Nazareth House was beautiful; clean, bright and well-equipped (as is the whole home).

Speaking as someone in healthcare, I was extremely happy with all of the care and attention that Mum had. Communication was excellent; everyone was friendly and approachable. I do mean everyone: so many people went 'above and beyond'. Whatever Mum wanted was provided. There was so much more to her stay than that, though. They really saw her as a whole person. She was loved. She was so happy to go to Mass and speak to people daily. It is truly a place to be happy and create memories. Thank you.

Nazareth House staff looked after my dad very well. They were excellent in their nursing/caring skills and their attitude - they were friendly and approachable; whatever we needed for Dad they provided; we couldn’t have asked for better care. The home itself is clean and bright.

From our very first interaction with staff as a family we were supremely confident that our mum was in the absolute best place. All facilities communication and procedures are exceptional as you would expect for your loved one. But there is much more to Nazareth House, the attendance at daily mass was so important to Mum and something that she had missed. Staff knowing this about Mum and facilitating this time for prayer is just one example of the exceptional level of care we experienced during Mum's short stay. We had our mum back for those few precious weeks. We were all made to feel as part of the Nazareth House family, always welcomed, offered refreshments and involved in conversations that showed just how well staff knew Mum.
Due to distance my visits were long. I was always welcomed and never once made to feel in the way. I really felt that I was visiting Mum at her home.

She was so happy with the spiritual pastoral and social aspects, she viewed Nazareth House as her home and we are all so grateful for this.

I certainly would recommend Nazareth House to anyone, in the time my mother has been a resident (16 months) she has been treated with respect and has been cared for excellently at all times. I always get offered tea or coffee on arrival which is four or five times a week.

My mum has been a resident here for 2 years and I can honestly say it's been the best thing we did for her choosing Nazareth House. They are so kind, considerate and caring and always keep the family up to date with any changes in Mum's health care. Their entertainment staff do an amazing job keeping the residents entertained and busy with so much going on every month. They issue monthly newsletters with everything that is coming up and family/friends are always welcome to join in any of the many things happening at Nazareth House. I am a big advocate for this care home and tell anyone who asks about Mum how good it is here. They have their own chapel on site, which Mum attends daily, this was a big part of Mum's life before she became unable to attend her local church so this is wonderful for Mum.

Cannot thank the staff enough for all they do for Mum, which gives us as a family peace of mind, she is safe and being well looked after at all times.

I attended a summer fare this weekend. I was very pleasantly surprised at how lovely it was. The residents and visitors really enjoyed it. The staff are so helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. Compliments to the chef who laid on some lovely food and even gave me some to take home for my tea. I am not quite ready for a care home yet but if that time does come I choose this one.

My nan has been a resident of Nazareth House for more than two years. From the moment we walked in we felt very welcome. The care for my nan has been over our expectations. The carers make sure she is always comfortable and clean (as she is bedbound) They take time out to sit and talk and make sure she's happy, they've more than exceeded our expectations in adapting to her needs. I as a visitor always feel welcome and they keep me informed of her well-being. So glad we chose this home.

My friend was treated with kindness and respect for the three months he was a resident in Nazareth House Care Home. He was able to attend daily mass which was very important for his religious beliefs. He was encouraged to make his own choice and decisions in all aspects of his care and daily routine. It gave him great comfort knowing he was safe and well cared for. He ended his life peacefully and with dignity. Thank you to Sister, Chaplin, Manager and all the staff for their devotion and hard work.

We attended a family pre-Christmas lunch at the home.

The ambience was excellent as was the quality of the food and drinks. The staff were very attentive and a good time was had by all. We would certainly attend any future planned function.

Incompetent management, in my opinion.
Misplace items in the office safe.
Fail to follow company policy and procedure when raising complaints.
A high number of agency staff which is unsettling for residents.
The manager seems to lack any kind of empathy and makes ethically questionable decisions to suit her own agenda and does not inform next of kin.
In fact, it is near impossible to contact her on the phone as she does not respond to messages to call back.
Do not recommend it.

Please, if you have a loved one here, check in on them often.

My mother was only in Nazareth House for five days before she passed away, but whilst she was there she was treated with the greatest dignity and respect and all her needs, temporal and spiritual, were provided for her, enabling her to pass away in peace. I was deeply moved by the compassionate caring of all of the staff and can't recommend their services highly enough.
(If I ever become incapable of caring for myself I now know where I would like to spend my final days!)

God bless you and keep up the good work!

The care and compassion shown by every member of the team at Nazareth House have been a joy to witness to our dear one and to every other resident observed.
Nothing was too much trouble; the staff were on hand and so willing to provide help and support at any hour.

Respect and dignity were evident from pre-admission to the day of death, with the added gift of spiritual support throughout. God bless all of you for the amazing work you do.

We are very grateful for the care our 97 year old mother received recently at Nazareth House. Unfortunately her health continued to deteriorate very quickly during her brief admission. The staff ensured they spoke to my mother and the family about her wishes for her care. She was able to move from a residential bed to a nursing bed on the unit promptly as her health needs increased. They arranged an urgent review with the GP practice so her medical needs could be assessed. She received end of life care on the unit with her family able to visit freely and stay with her as much as possible. All the staff showed great kindness and compassion to my mother and to us as a family.

My Grandad was a resident at Nazareth House for a short time, from December 2021 - January 2022, we were blown away by the love and care he received in his short time here. Grandad, unfortunately, passed away peacefully here after 3 weeks of exceptional care. Grandad had been at home until the age of 94 before being admitted to the hospital where we realised he would need full-time care. As a family it was something we didn't really know much about, we were offered Nazareth House and before we had made a final decision we rang to see if we could possibly visit the home.

The manager was so accommodating, she showed us around and was very informative and welcoming. Grandad went to the home from the hospital on palliative care. The home was spotless and the nursing unit he was placed onto was fantastic. The staff we couldn't thank enough, they couldn't have done more for Grandad and us as a family, supporting us in his final days. Couldn't recommend Nazareth House enough.

We will forever be grateful to Nazareth House for providing my Grandad with the highest standard of care during his time there. Not only did they go above and beyond to ensure he was treated with dignity and respect but they were a huge support to our family. Our dad has been a resident at Nazareth House for almost 12 months now. The home has been undergoing refurbishment for the time he has been there, which looks like it's nearing completion.
We couldn't initially get in to visit due to national restrictions but the staff enabled us to have window visits, phone and video calls.
Once we got in we could see the standard of care he was receiving was excellent. His room is lovely. The multi photo frames that we had provided were on the walls.
All of the staff have been so lovely and friendly from the beginning. They all know our dad and he knows them! They also know us and will usually give us a wave when we visit!

The management has changed in the last 6 months and the new manager is very professional. She is really approachable and friendly and has made positive changes in a short space of time. The home feels calmer and controlled in her care.
