I'm happy with the way my dad looks and I am happy with the visit today. I wish my dad had come here first and my mum has been here.

The Wellbeing Coordinator is very supportive and has a good relationship with residents and their activities. The resident can be difficult and needs a lot of encouragement to leave her room. The Wellbeing Coordinator has worked hard with her to gain her trust and to encourage her to be more sociable. Another member of staff, in particular, is also very good with the residents and communications.

I have only been in a couple of times recently but it's always a lovely experience. The staff are great, always have time to answer any questions and can't do enough really. My stepmum seems happy, always looks lovely and is well looked after. The gardens are beautiful and the place as a whole looks like a good place to be, very clean and lovely and warm inside.

As a family, we were very anxious about mum going in for respite. The manager put our minds at rest straight away. Every member of staff that answers the phone is friendly and helpful. We couldn't be happier with Avandale.

From coming to have a lateral flow test. Very considerate, very prompt. Following government guidelines to the highest standards. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Keeping residents happy and cheerful the best they can. Keeping my mother well, happy, presentable. Clean, nice room. Considerate of the deterioration of dementia.

Thank you so much for making a very difficult situation so much easier, I feel confident that mum is well looked after. The carers have taken the time to get to know mum and understand her likes and dislikes. I can see they know her and are treating her with care and compassion. Thank you.

Since my mother came into the home I am pleased with her care, cleanliness, wellbeing. The only negative thing, my mother would like to do more activities e.g outings, games, wheelchair aerobics etc.

The TV is on but sometimes DVD's should be on of their era e.g Gone with the wind, etc, David Niven etc.

I feel if it wasn't down to certain members of staff and Dad's 1:1, then the attention Dad would receive would not be very good.

My mother spent 14 months in Avandale Lodge until she sadly passed away at the age of 95. She entered the home from hospital where she had been admitted against her will after a fall. She had always wanted to stay in her own home but unfortunately, her dementia had progressed to the extent where it was no longer possible. After the first month of adjustment, though, she gradually became comfortable and even happy (as far as her dementia would allow) and certainly came to regard Avandale Lodge as home. The family visited her regularly over the time she was resident and it struck us all that the staff without exception always treated mum (and all the other residents) with kindness, courtesy and respect at all times. We always felt she was safe, comfortable and cared for, and never doubted our choice of Avandale as the right place for her final home. During her last days, that same kindness was also extended to the other members of the family as we gathered around her. We are grateful to the whole team.

My husband has been here for over two years and on the whole, everything has been good.

He is well cared for and always looks happy. My only concern is the clothes I would like him to be warmer sometimes and have adequate clothes on like cardigan and socks and a T-shirt under his shirt, otherwise no complaints.

Mum has lived here at Avandale Lodge for over three years and seems happy and settled. She was recently moved downstairs which isn't as quiet as upstairs and the sitting room isn't as bright and airy as upstairs. Her bedroom is clean and comfortable and mum seems well cared for.
