My mother was 100 years old last month. The staff organised a tea party and cake for her and the residents. Since then they have framed her 100th birthday cards and the telegram from the Queen. All this was done by the staff and management, our family were delighted as was my mother. She had a large bunch of flowers form your Chief Executive. This was care of the highest order.

Reply from Karen Graham, Home Manager at Chapel Fields

Everyone enjoyed the birthday celebration; we had a delightful day. We value such positive feedback and are delighted that the flowers and framed cards are liked.

On a day when my father was unwell, the care and attention provided to my father by the staff was outstanding. They were proactive, professional and empathetic and my father could not have had better care.

As this is the first time I have been involved in visiting a care home in which my wife spent some time I was quite impressed with the setup. I would certainly have no compunction in letting her have a further stay in Chapel Fields if it becomes necessary.

My mother in law has been in Chapel Fields for fourteen months. The staff whenever possible have gone out of their way to include her in their conversations.

She appears to be quite happy and content.

My father has been living in Chapel Fields for the last 7 months where he is receiving nursing care. The staff are friendly and approachable and care for my father in a sympathetic and professional way. There are always activities planned for the residents should they want to get involved and mix socially with the other residents. Overall my father is very happy and well cared for.

Our relative is very well cared for after a stroke. He enjoys the activities and the entertainment. The staff have been very understanding in dealing with his personal care and health needs.

The home is always a pleasant visit and highly motivational for my mother. The staff are excellent and the activity programme is always well thought out and appropriate.

My mother has moved from her own home and forfeited her independence but is so happy in her new environment. The home accommodates her gardening request and does everything to make her feel at home.

The activity organiser is excellent. She motivates, encourages, speaks clearly, and always does it with a smile.

My mother has been in three care homes, the activies and personal bond that she has with her are by far the best.

Visited Christmas Eve, lovely home, decorated lovely, lots of happy residents and staff, visited so I could attend their church service with my friend who is a resident at the home. Had a lovely time, we were looked after very well, intend to visit the home again so I can attend their church service, which is apparently held every Wednesday and Sunday. Thank you for a lovely visit. The home was very clean. I have not been able to comment on 'value for money' as I don't know what the cost to stay at this home is.

I visited my grandfather over the new year and he was telling me how much he had settled in at the home and how happy he was this was a great to hear as we had been very concerned about him going into a nursing home he said he loved the activities that go on he also said he loved the food.

My wife and I visited my friend on a weekend. I was amazed at how inviting and nice the staff were, whilst there I also met the home manager who was very kind and helpful. All the staff on duty were also very helpful, I got the impression that nothing was too much trouble, eased my concerns about visiting in the future. Thank you

My 95 year old mother-in-law moved to Chapel Fields in September 2014 and was very happy there, doing much as she had done at home - watching TV, listening to the radio and emailing from her iPad but knowing that assistance was available at the touch of a button. The staff always had time for her, whether it was putting seed on her window ledge to attract birds or simply chat about football, the latest Grand Prix, or whatever.
In her last few weeks when her appetite and her ability to drink diminished the staff responded with different food and drink to tempt her.
During her last few hours the staff were kindness personified, checking that she was comfortable and that we (her daughter and son-in-law) were also looked after - hot chocolate and toast at 2 in the morning was very welcome!
Immediately following her death, my mother-in-law was treated with great dignity and respect and my wife and I were treated with such kindness and sympathy by all the staff at Chapel Fields.

The staff at Chapel Fields didn't just care for my mother-in-law - they cared about her.
