The staff, carers and nurses are all wonderful. Mum was moved into the nursing home after a fall and during the Covid pandemic. Mum has advanced dementia and challenging behaviour, but the staff are wonderful and patient with her. They help her to communicate by phone and during the visits, and they call us if there are any issues. They are always cheerful and positive and really take the time to get to know their resident and how best to meet their needs. They step up to and meet the challenges they may be faced with. Always friendly and helpful.

I still find it hard to believe how fortunate I have been in finding Hollins Park. From the moment I set foot through the door, it was apparent that my dad would be part of a family. Since his move into the home, I have felt able to let the extremely competently-led team do their work, without having to check up. All staff members always have time for dad's family and we, too, feel cared for and in a continuing partnership. What more could I ask? Thank you all.

Hollins Park is an ideal care home for my wife. I visit her 2 to 3 times each week and always find the staff very attentive to her and myself. The home is clean and warm with lots of activities if required. The food appears to be good although I have not tried it myself. The manager always has time to talk about any concerns I may have. There is an enclosed secure garden so the residents can go outside in good weather if they wish.

Myself and my brother are absolutely delighted with the love and care our 86-year-old dad is receiving at Hollins Park. The leadership is outstanding as are the staff who care for him.

We could not ask for more.

My Wife has been a resident of Hollins Park Care Home since August 2017, and I cannot speak too highly of the care she has received since then. The Staff are all very capable and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble for them.

My husband has been a resident for over two years.
His serious illness results in challenging behaviour unless he is handled sensitively. In my experience, the staff are able to cope with kindness and understanding to meet his needs.

If I have any concerns the home manager is available and approachable. She does her utmost to deal with concerns promptly and efficiently in a reassuring, responsive manner.

Hollins Park is a nursing home fit for purpose with ample space for residents to move freely from one lounge to the next. My husband's aunt settled quickly here around four years ago as the environment is appropriate and organised to allow her to sit in the office alongside staff, avoiding confrontation. All staff are approachable and caring, demonstrating a good understanding of dementia issues.

Dad was at Hollins Park for fifteen months. From day one he was treated with loving care and enormous compassion, despite his dementia which meant he would shout out for hours on end. Medically all his needs were met and emotionally he was given constant one to one support. At the end of his life, we were treated with dignity, all our needs were met, and questions answered, at no time were we rushed or made to feel unwelcome.

My mother's dementia deteriorated very swiftly in May/June this year. The previous care home (where she had only been living for 6 weeks) could no longer care for her outbreaks of aggressive behaviour. Whilst I was away on holiday, my mother had to be moved out of her previous home and the only place that could be found (by a social worker in my absence) was Hollins Park.

I spoke with the deputy manager several times whilst I was away on holiday and she was very reassuring and professional. On my arrival back in the UK, she and the staff had evidently got to know my mother's needs well and I have nothing but praise for their ongoing care and support. My mother's initially difficult and occasionally aggressive behaviour has been expertly managed and she is now much calmer and settled. I have no doubt that my mother is being cared for with sensitivity and concern for her well-being.

Staff very caring, they did so much to make every day interesting and always ask how relatives are.

Diet given, is according to needs, only tempting foods. Staff are spending time with residents, comforting and helping residents if they require turning. Office staff have been so helpful. Name put on clothes as required and meet all needs as and when.

My Mum received excellent care during the short time she was a resident. The management and staff are very caring and considerate and treated my Mum with the utmost respect and dignity. I always felt welcomed on my daily visits to Mum and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. My family and I were made to feel part of the Hollins Park family and we worked together in Mum's best interests.

My wife moved into Hollins Park Macclesfield about four or five years ago. She has severe dementia and now needs complete care and attention. Hollins Park is ideally suited for this. The home is split up into four equal quadrants, each with its own nursing and care staff. This means more care and attention to all its residents. The home is clean and well looked after by a great management and all the staff are dedicated to the work they do. There is also an activities staff who look after the activities of those residents who still have the capacity to enjoy various amusements (games, visiting entertainer etc). During my wife's stay I have visited four times a week, made many friends and watched the residents treated with care and dignity.

Since arriving at Hollins my Father has received very caring and professional help putting our mind at rest that he is now receiving the best care possible at this stage of his dementia journey. My father was transferred from another care home whom were wholly inadequate which left us constantly worried about his well being and safety however since arriving at Hollins we have absolutely none of those worries. The team are professional, trustworthy and you can see that they have all of the residents best interests at heart. All in all a great home with caring staff, we feel very happy my Father is now receiving the right care by the right people.

Jasmin LanzaderasJob Title:Home managerJoined: 2005

I’m a registered nurse by background and have a long-standing passion for dementia care, which is one of the reasons I joined Care UK.

I was previously Deputy Manager here at Hollins Park, and I’m proud to now be leading the team as Home Manager. I’m part of the Future Home Managers training scheme, and take part in regular in-house training to keep growing in my role.

To do this job well, you need to be highly organised, adaptable and above all, a great communicator. I love seeing residents smiling, enjoying the home and getting involved in everything we have to offer.

In terms of career highlights, I’ve been honoured to receive the Elsie Wagg scholarship and become a Queen’s Nurse. I also had the opportunity to help create the beautiful garden at Hollins Park.

What makes me proud in my role is knowing that I’m helping residents live safe, happy lives. I’m always so grateful that residents’ families are happy to leave their loved ones in our care.

Outside of work, I enjoy walking and gardening.
