The Prospect House philosophy is that the individual should be at the centre of everything. The home is led by the Home Manager and a band of RGNs and RMNs with many years' experience in caring for the physical health needs of older people.

Dementia care is provided in the Garden Rooms and the Bowling Green Rooms.   Dividing the home into smaller clusters of residents helps to stimulate a sense of familiarity for residents and, for staff, promotes a deeper understanding of residents' needs.

Prospect House aims at excellence and continuous improvement at every turn - from daily activities to catering, from top-notch training to building maintenance.

Transparency and communication are held to be very important and the home is well worth a visit.

Provided full dementia nursing care for my mum for 8 years. Never once had cause to question any aspect of their provision. All staff genuinely care, rather than just doing their job. There is a clear culture here of going above and beyond. All staff seem really happy. If I end up needing nursing care
later in life, I will certainly want to stay at Prospect House.

The care my mother has received has been amazing, nothing is too much trouble for the staff and they are really helpful and supportive. When my mum needed to come into the home they were really helpful and made the process very straight forward. My mum is very comfortable and content here.

Prospect House provides a welcoming and friendly atmosphere to both residents and visitors. All the staff treated my wife with kindness and respect at all times while at the same time carrying out their duties to a high professional standard. They retained her dignity right up to the end and I am very
grateful to them.

In my opinion, Prospect House is head and shoulders above any other nursing home I have visited. The welcoming greeting from the ladies in reception to the cleaning crew is fabulous. The nursing staff are fabulous and always have time to chat if you have any problems or worries. The chefs cater for
varied diets. If there is something on the daily meal you don't fancy they are happy to cook whatever you fancy. The nursing/care assistants are always friendly and polite. Nothing is too much trouble. Overall Prospect House really is a little gem.

I am grateful that my husband is receiving much better care than I am able to provide. However, there does seem to be a problem in looking after his hearing aids. Having said that the staff are efficient, friendly and ready to help. The standard is very good but also really expensive with quite a few
hidden costs on top of regular payments.

Staff are very friendly and very supportive and accommodating with regard to my own disability. The care my husband receives is further hindered due to his own disability which must make things (especially) communication difficult. Despite this staff have overcome this and the care my husband receives
is good.

The staff at Prospect Home are kind and caring - the most important part of a care home.
The nursing staff (senior) communicated with me clearly and regularly - as did the visiting GP's occasionally. Compared to all other nursing homes I have visited both professionally and socially I found that standard
of care, communication, and organisation to be excellent. I am a senior palliative care nurse myself so was delighted to discover Prospect House looking after my sister.

At all times, they were effective to my sister and very helpful to my husband and me. The food was excellent and varied. Facilities for physiotherapy, occupational

My 94 year old father was brought to Prospect House from our local hospital. I cannot praise the staff enough kind, caring, lovely people. My father was looked after with the highest respect and dignity. They were also extremely kind to myself and family. I cannot recommend Prospect House highly enough.

My late husband was in Prospect House for six years. When I became in need of help, this is where I came. During my husband's stay and my visits 3 or more times a week. During that time I was on several committees and helped with authorities. My current stay is for respite care, should I need more constant
care this would be where I want to be. Not only am I treated with dignity but after so long a time I am treated as an extended family.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.891)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.891) out of 10 for Prospect House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.829 for Prospect House is calculated as follows: ( (59 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 4.829
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.062 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Prospect House is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 registered maximum number of service users is 13. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 13 = 0.462
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
