Prospect House

Staff are very friendly and very supportive and accommodating with regard to my own disability. The care my husband receives is further hindered due to his own disability which must make things (especially) communication difficult. Despite this staff have overcome this and the care my husband receives is good.

The nursing staff (senior) communicated with me clearly and regularly - as did the visiting GP's occasionally. Compared to all other nursing homes I have visited both professionally and socially I found that standard of care, communication, and organisation to be excellent. I am a senior palliative care nurse myself so was delighted to discover Prospect House looking after my sister.

Excellent facilities and the room provided was homely and clean. Staff made an effort to welcome and show warmth and affection to my sister. At all times, they were effective to my sister and very helpful to my husband and me. The food was excellent and varied. Facilities for physiotherapy, occupational therapy and hair care with lovely staff providing these services.

All I can say is that Prospect House is a true care home in every way.

My 94 year old father was brought to Prospect House from our local hospital. I cannot praise the staff enough kind, caring, lovely people. My father was looked after with the highest respect and dignity. They were also extremely kind to myself and family. I cannot recommend Prospect House highly enough.

It is always difficult to place your mother into care. I can honestly say I felt comfortable leaving her at Prospect House. The staff were very caring. It felt like a lovely home to live in. My mother seemed to relax and was content which was an indication of how she felt.

My father was cared for beautifully at Prospect House in his final weeks, at all times with dignity and respect. The restrictions in place due to Covid-19 were handled very efficiently by the staff, at the same time maintaining the high standard of care.

My mother had 2 weeks of respite care following a fall at home. She enjoyed her stay at Prospect House. All the staff were lovely and she really enjoyed the food. The staff were all kind and thoughtful. She felt safe and so well cared for.

My late husband was in Prospect House for six years. When I became in need of help, this is where I came. During my husband's stay and my visits 3 or more times a week. During that time I was on several committees and helped with authorities. My current stay is for respite care, should I need more constant care this would be where I want to be. Not only am I treated with dignity but after so long a time I am treated as an extended family.

In these strange covid times, access was limited to the home, but at no time were we concerned that the dedication, care, expertise and love was not being given to my mother. The communication was first class also. Sadly my mother passed away in October, but we have the peace that she passed away with dignity and love of your exceptional staff. We cannot express how deeply grateful we are for the care and love given to my mother in the four months that she was with you.

I have lived here for almost 2 years and have been very happy. The staff are all very helpful and cheerful and is too much trouble. One is encouraged to join the various activities, including keeping fit.

During a very difficult period, the care home continued to provide a high standard of living conditions for a group of extremely frail patients. Activities to keep us more ambulant continued through this time and puzzles to keep our brains working.

My Dad is presently at Prospect House is Malpas, having struggled to live independently at home with carers and suffering from dementia. Since moving in he has settled in quickly. The staff is very attentive and caring. He is very happy there. Even putting on weight as the catering is so good. Prospect House has been an excellent choice for us.

Prospect House is an established nursing home with an excellent reputation for providing quality care. Our choice as we were, and continue to be, impressed by the attention to the little things that make this a real home from home. Friendly and approachable staff and exemplary clinical and nursing care, together with an inclusive approach to service delivery (residents and relatives are encouraged to contribute and be involved). The result is a happy and safe home for our parent.

All of the staff are extremely efficient in all matters. The care has been particularly good, food excellent. Always obliging and courteous. Nothing is too much trouble could not speak too highly.

I visited the home at the beginning of March to see my Great Aunt and found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The home is like one big family and my great Aunt speaks highly of all the staff. The home has lots of activities going on for all different abilities which is fantastic to see.

I am perfectly satisfied with the care and activities provided. My room is quite spacious and has access to the courtyard when I can sit and read etc if the weather permits.

Very very nice care home but I would prefer to really be at home.

Mum was admitted to Prospect House with a serious illness in early January 2020. The staff were unbelievably kind, courteous, professional and caring. Mum wanted for nothing during her last days. I cannot speak too highly of Prospect House or the people who work there.

Wonderful home and staff that really cared for my mum. She was always clean and warm with her clothes always freshly laundered. The food was excellent and nicely presented. I can't recommend Prospect House enough.
