Overall Experience
My mother has been a resident in Redwalls for almost three years and my father for over two years.
Mum is bedridden and needs extensive nursing care and although dad can be difficult all the staff are very patient and caring with them both. It is very reassuring to know that they are safe and well cared for.
The catering staff go beyond the call of duty to cope with dad's indecisiveness and fussy eating habits.
All the staff are so friendly and cheerful, I think of them as part of my family.

I think my grandson echoed our thoughts when he announced after a visit to his great grandparents "it's great here I didn't think old people's homes were like this".

Very little experience of home care but consider this home to be superior to all experienced by me.

My Mother has been in Redwalls for nearly 4 years. The care she has received has been excellent. All the Staff have been lovely caring and able to spend time with my Mother. Her diet was limited to pureed food but every care was taken to ensure she ate food that she liked. The Home is very welcoming and feels like a home rather than a care home. I would not hesitate to recommend Redwalls and am very grateful that they had space when we needed it.

Your mother was an integral part of the home. We will miss her wit and love of shopping at her high street store. She will be greatly missed by all. Thank you for your support over the years.

I did not want my mom going into care but I had peace of mind with my mom in Redwalls. My mom had terminal cancer and was treated by all staff in the nicest way. Always with respect. She had a lovely room and on warm sunny days, we were able to sit in the beautiful grounds. I will always be sad at not being able to look after my mom but Redwalls helped with such a big decision.

My father has been at Redwalls since August and both my brother and I have been impressed by the level and diligence of care he has received.

This was highlighted at Christmas when we shared the experience of the Christmas Day festivities with him at the Home. The input that the staff put into making the day joyous was evident. The extent to which they had clearly planned the day to make everyone feel integrated plus the quality of the Christmas meal and the support that all the staff who had given up their own family responsibilities made visitors and residents alike uplifted.

Our room was very pleasant, good size for the two of us. We found it on the cool side as the weather had turned cold. The shower room and bathroom were very cold.

Redwalls, a truly wonderful place. My brother was cared for in an environment that he and every family member felt was just like home. Every member of staff, whatever their role was involved. The staff were compassionate, caring, respectful, mindful and open about their pride in their work. I would hope that Redwalls will always remain as it is. I cannot see any need to change what it is, "home". Please allow Redwalls to remain the size it is, not to become a "corporate" place to stay. I cannot say a big enough thank you to Redwalls.

My brother was here for a short while in receipt of palliative care. On arrival, he was delighted with his room and the setting. He really liked all of the staff who attended his needs. When end of life came, as a family we took shifts to stay with him 24/7. I cannot praise the staff who cared for him enough. The most senior down to cleaning and tea staff all were very professional with a friendly approach. They were also very compassionate and caring toward family members.

Overall Experience

My grandma came in for what became end of life care. The staff were amazing, not only were they incredibly attentive to my grandma's comfort and needs, they then ensured that we and other family members were not only offered refreshments but also offered support emotionally.

As a healthcare professional myself, it's easy to spot poor care but the Redwalls team were amazing and made, what was an incredibly difficult time, a little easier.

Thank you all.

Residence is kept as homely as possible, carpets and soft furnishings throughout. Staff manage to stay pleasant "with a smile" virtually all of the time. The whole place is kept clean and any odours kept to a minimum despite obvious problems in doing this.

We are very happy with the care my mother receives at Redwalls. The staff are friendly and approachable and some are loving towards my mother which is so heartwarming for a daughter to see, I have had the odd issue which has worried me but I found everyone so willing to listen to my thoughts and together we have worked towards pleasing conclusions for mum's care. I would hope that my mother will end her days at Redwalls where I feel she is cherished by the caring staff.
