Positive: All the staff were kind, helpful, respectful.
Meals were good, flexible with choices.
Something on each day - extersises, or people coming in to entertain.
Enjoyed the Jo Jingles team.
Negative: Short staffed, could do with more carers, nurses, not enough to cover when people are on holiday or off sick.
The lift is very small to hold a wheelchair and carer.

My room was very small, carers had to keep moving the bed to get my wheelchair or zimmer round. But only there for 2 weeks on respite, so managed.

I am pleased to say that the home actively recruits new staff to ensure that annual leave and sickness is covered.

I can rest assured that my husband is safe and well cared for at Redwalls Nursing Home. The manager is very approachable. The nurses and carers are very committed to keeping my husband pain free, clean, comfortable and well fed. The catering and cleaning staff set themselves very high standards. The activity ladies are both caring and enthusiastic. They arrange a variety of activities throughout the week, which are especially enjoyed out in the lovely garden on sunny afternoons. Everyone who works at Redwalls helps to create a friendly, family atmosphere, which is very uplifting. In time, I hope there will be a place for me at Redwalls too.

From my initial visit to Redwalls I knew it was the Nursing Home for Dad. It had a warm ,friendly, homely feel. From the moment I walked in I knew Dad would be happy , comfortable and well looked after. His room was beautifully furnished with a large window looking over the well kept gardens.
The staff were amazing not only with the care of Dad but were so supportive of me as I navigated through this new chapter of moving Dad into Nursing Care.
When Dad passed away the staff were just lovely so supportive, caring, gentle as I dealt with my loss.

I honestly cannot recommend Redwalls highly enough if you are looking for a Care/Nursing home for a loved one.

My dear wife was resident in Redwalls for a period of four weeks, having transferred from Hospice care. She occupied a beautiful en-suite room overlooking the lovely gardens. She received all the care and attention I could possibly have wished for. All the staff were exceptionally caring and met all my wife's needs. I was able to share meals with her every day and the facilities (including her hairdressing!) were all readily available. I was particularly thankful for the times we were able to sit together (her in a wheelchair) in the garden...when the sun shone! The staff even facilitated a visit (again in her wheelchair) to the little chapel along the road. It was there that we shared our last worship together. She died peacefully and I give thanks for our final precious days together.

My mum did not know what to expect during her 3-week respite care stay. However she was delighted with the overall experience. The staff were fantastic, warm, friendly and could not do enough for my mum. The food was excellent, as were all the activities over the three weeks. Mum managed to get her hair cut as well, which we all thought took years off her and which she was very pleased with. She was also able to go to church during her stay, which was very important to her over the Easter weekend. Overall a fantastic experience and can't wait to come back.

Since Mm joined Redwalls in December 2024 she has been very well supported through her grief at losing Dad and also the trauma of leaving her home of 54 years. Whenever we have had a concern, there has been a prompt response and a good resolution. Staff are very nice, warm and friendly to Mum and extremely welcoming of all our family members. We have confidence that we can work well together with Redwalls to achieve the best outcome for Mum.

Well organised and staffed home, welcoming with pleasant facilities. Responsive to individual needs and efficiently run without loss of the personal touch. Staff seem kind, thoughtful and attentive and the home is clean and odour-free. Good fresh food with ample choice, and help when needed. Individual rooms are a fair size and nicely presented, and the home has an array of spaces for daytime leisure, whether convivial or more secluded. Open and flexible visiting arrangements with adequate parking space, and a diverse range of itinerant services attending regularly. The home is warm and comfortable, and my mother seems very happy and well cared for.

Beautiful setting, comfortable and pleasantly decorated clean rooms. Excellent car provided for Dad. All the staff are and always have been helpful, kind and caring. Nothing is too much trouble (an extra chair was provided at Dad's bedside so that I could hold his hand). Plenty of drinks/snacks are available for Dad and tea is offered to visitors if required.

Over the years Dad has said how happy he is at Redwalls. A lovely home to live in with wonderful nursing care, food, and activities.

Pros:
Kept informed of events.
Carers are always pleasant.
Care taken to meet the requests of Mother.
Nursing staff informative - take time to ensure.
Cons:
My Mother feels that sometimes carers may walk away as she is speaking to them.

Consider sending a monthly activity chart out so relatives have a discussion.
