Redwalls Nursing Home is situated in the wonderful countryside of Sandiway, near to Northwich.

This Edwardian house has retained all the style of what was once a private residence.

The home has been tastefully furnished to a high standard to provide luxury and comfort for residents. It has a some wonderful areas for residents to sit and relax with family and friends, including a large lounge, a library and beautiful conservatory overlooking the front of the home.

There is a magnificent landscaped garden which provides wonderful outdoor space for residents and their families which, during the summer months provides a wonderful venue for many of the events and activities, including Garden Parties and Summer Fayre.

All the bedrooms have been furnished to a high standard, they are spacious and many offer en-suite facilities. Residents are encouraged to bring small items from home to make them feel more at home.

Mealtimes are an important part of the day and chefs prepare delicious and nutritious meals to stimulate even the most discerning appetites. Residents are encouraged to take time over their meal and socialise with other residents.

The health and well-being of residents is important and the home plans and organises an extensive programme of activities and events, taking into account any hobbies or interest residents may have, to help maintain the mental and physical well-being of residents. Families are always welcome to join in with activities and events

The care provided for residents over the past year during the Covid pandemic has been excellent. The staff have been putting themselves at considerable risk from Covid by continuing to come to work and provide such kind and cheerful care. I know that my mother has been exceptionally well looked after
in these challenging times. All the efforts to keep families in touch remotely are much appreciated by those unable to visit. The downside has been the frequent change in managers over time leading to discontinuity and a lack of good communication.

When my Mom was admitted to Redwalls following a 3-month stay in the hospital, we were very unsure about her being in a care home. Redwalls staff especially one member went out of their way to make her feel at home and settled in. We were also grateful for the opportunity to speak to my Mom via window
visits which after not seeing her for 3 months was lovely. She is well looked after and the carers and staff are always extremely helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble.

My mother is in your care for rehabilitation and after settling in is so happy and involved in everything that is going on in the home. We have been involved and kept up to date with everything that mum has been doing including her care and have had no questions left unanswered. I cannot thank the staff
enough for the respect and care they show my mother as I have found it really difficult to take a step back and let someone else look after her during this time and I can assure you they have not disappointed me.

First, my mother and then more recently my father have been residents at Redwalls. They are exceedingly caring and all the staff are so kind and polite. The residents look happy and well cared for. The home itself is very clean and we were delighted to see how lovely they have made my Dad’s room for
him. The activities coordinators are brilliant and really keep the residents occupied if they can. Highly recommended.

I can not commend Redwall's management and staff highly enough of the superb care and service provided to my father during his stay. He was treated with kindness and respect and given the dignity he deserved.


As family members not able to visit because of lockdown restrictions, the staff went out

of their way to ensure we were able to 'see' my father via FaceTime calls and showing him the family videos we sent. He was encouraged to partake in fun activities on a daily basis and found the staff kind and attentive. The food was also excellent.

My mother has been a resident in Redwalls for almost three years and my father for over two years.
Mum is bedridden and needs extensive nursing care and although dad can be difficult all the staff are very patient and caring with them both. It is very reassuring to know that they are safe and well
cared for.
The catering staff go beyond the call of duty to cope with dad's indecisiveness and fussy eating habits.
All the staff are so friendly and cheerful, I think of them as part of my family.
I think my grandson echoed our thoughts when he announced after a visit to his great grandparents "it's great here I didn't think old people's homes were like this".

My Mother has been in Redwalls for nearly 4 years. The care she has received has been excellent. All the Staff have been lovely caring and able to spend time with my Mother. Her diet was limited to pureed food but every care was taken to ensure she ate food that she liked. The Home is very welcoming
and feels like a home rather than a care home. I would not hesitate to recommend Redwalls and am very grateful that they had space when we needed it.

I did not want my mom going into care but I had peace of mind with my mom in Redwalls. My mom had terminal cancer and was treated by all staff in the nicest way. Always with respect. She had a lovely room and on warm sunny days, we were able to sit in the beautiful grounds. I will always be sad at not
being able to look after my mom but Redwalls helped with such a big decision.

My father has been at Redwalls since August and both my brother and I have been impressed by the level and diligence of care he has received.
This was highlighted at Christmas when we shared the experience of the Christmas Day festivities with him at the Home. The input that the staff put into making
the day joyous was evident. The extent to which they had clearly planned the day to make everyone feel integrated plus the quality of the Christmas meal and the support that all the staff who had given up their own family responsibilities made visitors and residents alike uplifted.

Redwalls, a truly wonderful place. My brother was cared for in an environment that he and every family member felt was just like home. Every member of staff, whatever their role was involved. The staff were compassionate, caring, respectful, mindful and open about their pride in their work. I would
hope that Redwalls will always remain as it is. I cannot see any need to change what it is, "home". Please allow Redwalls to remain the size it is, not to become a "corporate" place to stay. I cannot say a big enough thank you to Redwalls.

Patrick Butler

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2024

Patrick has extensive knowledge and experience having worked in the sector for the last 37 years. He has managed a number of care homes throughout his career as well as having worked strategically, at a regional level, supporting a number of different homes.


Patrick is passionate about providing high-quality care for the people living at Redwalls and is committed to delivering truly person-centred care. He believes that people living in a care home should be able to live life to the fullest, taking part in a wide range of meaningful and stimulating activities, socialising and making new friends as well as enjoying new interests.


In his spare time, Patrick enjoys reading and holidaying in the Lake District where he can spend time with family and enjoy the great outdoors with lots of long walks and fresh air.

Rebecca Millington

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Hi, I’m Becky, the new Deputy Manager at Redwalls. I am an NMC-registered nurse with extensive experience in both clinical nursing and care home management. Most recently, I worked as a CQC-registered Manager and Matron at a nursing home, where I led with a strong focus on compassionate, high-quality care. Over the years, I’ve developed a particular passion for palliative and end-of-life care—a field I’m deeply proud to be involved in. My background combines hands-on clinical expertise with leadership, and I’m committed to ensuring residents receive the dignity, respect, and comfort they deserve. I’m excited to be working alongside Patrick, the Home Manager, and the dedicated team here at Redwalls. Together, I look forward to making a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents and their families.

My Name Is Sara, and I am an activities co-ordinator at Redwalls Nursing Home. Prior to Joining Redwalls, I was a teaching assistant for many years. Since becoming part of the Redwalls Nursing Home family, I have learned that a rich and varied activities programme improves both the mental and physical well-being of all our residents. I feel the team and I are caring, compassionate and enthusiastic.


During my spare time from work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and I enjoy long walks and cycling, bringing my dog Poppy along for the ride.

Sharon Johnson

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2017

Sharon joined Redwalls in 2017 as Head Chef. Before Redwalls, she was the General manager of restaurants in Florida and Washington, DC. During that time, she catered for both President Obama and President Biden.


She holds a Level 3 in Food and Hygiene, and the home maintains a 5 Star Hygiene Level. Sharon has experience with creating HCCAP plans and dealing with food allergies. Sharon and the catering team use fresh, locally sourced produce, and believe in providing choices for our residents. Sharon personally gets to know all our residents' likes and dislikes and loves to see residents enjoying their mealtime experience.
