Overall Experience
Overall, well satisfied. My wife always seems clean and weel looked after. Staff are considerate and helpful. Not easy for them as my wife is bedridden, incontinent and can be awkward and difficult.

Medical advice and help always available. Management ever available for advice and suggestions.

Nicola Brookes
Nicola BrookesJob Title Home Manager

I qualified as a nurse from the University of Manchester in 2017. After finishing university, I worked as a staff nurse on a respiratory ward and in the Accident and Emergency Department. I later worked as a Safeguarding Adult specialised Nurse and remained in this role for 5 years. I have now joined Redwalls as the Home Manager.

I am passionate about person-centred care, and I am excited to utilise my skills within Safeguarding to support our residents, family members and staff. I love a challenge, and I am always eager to learn new skills.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially sitting together watching movies, and I love going on day trips with my dog.

Pat McCormack
Pat McCormackJob Title Deputy ManagerJoined 2026

I qualified as a nurse in 2013 and, since completing my degree, have gained extensive experience across a diverse range of clinical settings, including acute medicine, palliative care, and leadership roles within care home environments. This breadth of experience has enabled me to develop strong clinical expertise alongside a comprehensive understanding of high-quality patient care.

I have recently joined Redwalls Nursing Home as Deputy Home Manager, where I support the Home Manager in the day-to-day running of the service, ensuring the highest standards of care and operational excellence are maintained.

I am particularly passionate about palliative care and am committed to using my knowledge and skills to provide compassionate support to our residents, their families, and our dedicated staff team.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, reading, and flower arranging.

My Name Is Sara, and I am an activities co-ordinator at Redwalls Nursing Home. Prior to Joining Redwalls, I was a teaching assistant for many years. Since becoming part of the Redwalls Nursing Home family, I have learned that a rich and varied activities programme improves both the mental and physical well-being of all our residents. I feel the team and I are caring, compassionate and enthusiastic.

During my spare time from work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and I enjoy long walks and cycling, bringing my dog Poppy along for the ride.

Sharon Johnson
Sharon JohnsonJob Title Head ChefJoined 2017

Sharon joined Redwalls in 2017 as Head Chef. Before Redwalls, she was the General manager of restaurants in Florida and Washington, DC. During that time, she catered for both President Obama and President Biden.

She holds a Level 3 in Food and Hygiene, and the home maintains a 5 Star Hygiene Level. Sharon has experience with creating HCCAP plans and dealing with food allergies. Sharon and the catering team use fresh, locally sourced produce, and believe in providing choices for our residents. Sharon personally gets to know all our residents' likes and dislikes and loves to see residents enjoying their mealtime experience.

Sharon says,” There is nothing better for a chef than to see big smiles at mealtimes. Knowing that all your hard work and effort into preparing a great meal speaks volumes. Sharon also assists the Activities team with theme days and baking sessions with the residents.
