Dad was made to feel welcome from the moment he arrived. He was offered a larger ensuite room as he needed more room. He enjoys the food and staff check on him frequently. As with most care homes staffing levels are lower at night and weekends which can sometimes lead to slower response/assistance. Overall it is comfortable, clean and welcoming and we feel reassured any issues are resolved quickly.
Thank you for your review. I am very happy that you feel reassured that your dad is cared for and that you feel the home is clean and welcoming. I would just like to clarify that staffing levels only reduce at night, they do not reduce at the weekends.
At the grove , with very caring staff whom I personally had the privilege to
Meet .
My father in his last days of life was cared for in a way that was very personal and caring .
Made life easier for me seeing my father pass away
Thank you for your lovely review, I will ensure this is passed on to the staff.
My dad is currently in The Grove on one to one care. The carers are absolutely amazing with him, always kind, caring and I feel they treat him like family. Whoever interviews for new team members certainly has a talent for finding the loveliest staff for every role. I cannot fault how he is treated and cared for.
They put on great events for residents and nothing seems too much trouble for visitors too.
The environment is clean and tidy.
Would highly recommend The Grove for a loved one.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. I will ensure this is passed on to all of the staff.
Our mother has been living at The Grove for almost 2 years until her death in August. The staff cared for her with the dignity and respect she deserved. The staff were friendly and treated us with respect and supported us through the difficult times. The home is clean and well maintained, the grounds and gardens well kept. Mum sadly passed away a couple of weeks ago and the care and support given at this time was exemplary, not only to mum but to us as well. Thank you.
I was heartbroken when I was told my husband needed 24/7 nursing care and that I couldn't manage anymore. I had visited The Grove on several occasions, with a friend who was visiting her mother, and we had always found it very welcoming. When my husband moved in, the staff were amazing, the home is clean and always smells fresh, he is treated with dignity and respect in the most friendly but professional manner, he has a choice of food every day prepared by the home's own chef. I can't thank The Grove enough for the way they have looked after him.
Thank you for your lovely words. We aim to provide a high level of care, in a relaxing, welcoming and friendly environment, so it is reassuring to hear that is exactly what you have experienced. It is our pleasure to care for your husband.
The staff at The Grove not only looked after my mother-in-law, they also looked after our family. Being kind and caring and showing nothing but love for my mother-in-law.
Thank you very much for your kind words. Your mother-in-law was a fabulous lady with lots of stories to tell, which we all enjoyed listening to.
My mother arrived at The Grove in January 2023. After spending 17 years in a home which closed down. We never thought my mother would settle in. However she did not just settle in she thrived. This was due to the kind, caring staff who treated her like a queen. My mother absolutely loved her time at The Grove. My mother knew everyone, she knew about their families and every one had time for my mother, and this from the manager at the top to the washer lady! The grove staff not only showed kindness to my mother but also to all our family members and I will be forever grateful.
Thank you very much for your lovely words. Your mother was a pleasure to care for, she made lots of friends and everyone enjoyed being in her company.
Well what can I say as they have look after my gran for about 3 years after moving from her old nursing home after it closed and the help her settle in and she made some good friends on the way staff and residents. She knew the staff by name as they help her come out of her shell. The care was really good even more when it came to the end of life the staff all help her to the best that they could.
Thank you for your kind words O. Your grandma was a special lady that we all enjoyed caring for.
My Grandma was cared for like she was a member of The Groves own family. Caring and compassionate but with genuine love and laughter. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Meal selection was excellent and catered for individual need, my Grandma asked for 'Eggs Benedict' during the last days of her life, and this is exactly what she got. All of the staff are beyond excellent, staff delivering direct care, cleaners, cooks, entertainment and management. You'll never understand the impact you can make. My Grandma was genuinely loved by all of the staff and she whole heartedly loved you back. If I could recommend you a million times over, I would. Thank you will never be enough.
Thank you so much for your lovely review Z. Your grandma was a pleasure to care for and we all enjoyed spending time with her and the extended family. She will forever be remembered as the one that shouted out all the answers at our quizzes. I will pass on your review to the staff, as it's comments like this that make everything worthwhile.
My family are so grateful to every member of staff who works at the Grove. My grandma loved it at the Grove. She was loved and very well cared for in her 2 years in the home. As a family we can not thank you all enough!
Thank you so much for your lovely review. Your grandma was a pleasure to care for and she will be missed......especially at the quizzes.
We were looking for palliative care, the staff showed care, compassion and respect from the moment we visited, and during the time my mother in law stayed.
The room was a good size, super bed, we could bring her possessions in to give that home feel.
We felt comfortable leaving knowing that, checks were being done, and we would be contacted if needed. The whole building was clean, lovely and homely, the food looked amazing.
The grounds are just right, enough quiet areas.. All the staff were fabulous, friendly and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I can't praise them enough! Thank you for making a tough time easier.
Thank you so much for your kind words, I will ensure these are passed on to the staff.
I would like to say a huge thank you to the staff on duty this afternoon. The care, compassion and respect they showed my mum enabled her to have a very dignified death. They were all very supportive to myself and my daughter at a very distressing time, making the situation more bearable. It is times like this where we realise how fortunate we are to have people who care for and about others. As a colleague of the care sector I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I knew I had chosen the right place for Mum and that you all made her final two weeks as comfortable as possible.
The staff are very friendly and extremely efficient and I would recommend this home to anyone with elderly, frail relatives.
My brother initially inspected "The Grove" for our Mum and was so impressed he asked the manager immediately if he could reserve a place for her, what an excellent choice he made. It's convenient, and comfortable, the staff/management are approachable and appear happy in their work which must be demanding. The facilities as is the choice of menus excellent, the accommodation is adequate, clean and serviceable. The downtime areas, inside and outside, are attractive and well cared for. The care our mum receives is first class as she can be quite stubborn at times (but can't we all), the activities are varied and constant. On the whole we can't find any negatives. Mum is settled, well-fed, warm and well-looked after. Thanks a lot.
It soon became apparent that everything at The Grove was excellent. The genuine and sincere care and compassion from the staff and the general 'family feel' every time I went in to visit. My husband received the best care. The staff treated him with sensitivity and dignity and also cared for us as a family too - thank you!
The care at The Grove Care Home is the best I have seen. I have visited many care homes in my job. This was the best. The staff and team have created a family like no other.
The staff are very helpful and friendly they give support to the residents
The management gave information on the processes of my mother's care, there are daily activities, the rooms are quite comfortable adequate and clean and it gives I think value for money.
Overall it is a nice comfortable place for my mother.
Thank you for your kind comments, I will ensure these are passed on to the staff. We strive to give the highest standard of care to our residents and to support family members when required. I am glad you are happy with your mother's care, she is a pleasure to look after.
The Grove is an exceptional home, I can't recommend more highly for your loved one. The manager is approachable, caring and knowledgeable. The home is very well run ensuring the safety of residents. The staff are truly special. There is a real team/family environment. They have one vision in mind and that is to provide excellent care and support to the residents who live there. Together, they create a real welcoming, friendly and caring 'home' environment. The staff know residents well and are compassionate and sensitive to individual needs. They treat people with dignity and respect and go the extra mile for people. The home is beautifully clean, well maintained and there are always lovely displays of what is going on or activities residents have been doing. Bedrooms are personalised and always clean. There are a wide range of activities for residents creating memories and fun. Communication between the home and family is very good with regular newsletters and posts on social media
Thank you for your lovely review and feedback V. I will share this with the staff, as I am sure they will appreciate the kind words very much.
The staff at The Grove have been truly amazing from the first moment my mum arrived. They are so professional and the care they give is outstanding. Mum has settled quickly and we are safe in the knowledge she is in an excellent care facility. Nothing is too much for the nurses, HCAs and all support staff.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Your mum is a pleasure to care for and we are very happy that she feels settled with us.
