I can't thank Highfield Hall enough for the care and support shown to my grandparents has been amazing. All of the staff are lovely and kind, the rooms are bright and clean. I would say that if I needed to go into care I would choose Highfield Hall.

My mother has been a resident since April 2017. I am very happy with the care she has received at Highfield Hall. Everyone is friendly, caring and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. I could not provide her care so I am grateful to find that I can relax knowing she is cared for here. Her room is fine with en-suite facilities, although a little tired.

Even though she is not mobile every attempt has been made to include her in activities where possible. The activities are varied and regular despite limited finances.

My mother finds the staff not very friendly and the food is of a poor standard. Her last care home was far friendlier and the food was excellent but it was too far for family to visit on a regular basis. That's the reason she is back in Rossendale.

Hope the food will improve.

My mum came into Highfield Hall in May 2018 and the change in her is remarkable. All of the staff are amazing, all kind, caring, generous of themselves and nothing is too much trouble. The cleanliness, atmosphere, furnishings and food are like those of an excellent hotel. Mum's personality is friendly and she likes a bit of fun. However, that bubbly personality had begun to disappear when she lived at home. Mum's memory is also very short (she has Alzheimer's). Now, with the input of the staff, she is receiving the necessary stimulation in abundance and her personality is coming back to the surface again. Mum is able to walk without a stick or frame and in order to keep that ability in her, the staff take her out pretty much daily for a little walk - literally going the extra mile to ensure her needs are met. I tell Mum she is like Her Majesty because she is treated so well. I would definitely recommend Highfield Hall for anyone looking for a care home with a difference.

Although my relative was only in Highfield for a few short months on palliative care, her stay was unquestionably beneficial. The care was so friendly yet professional. My aunt was treated with fondness and positively thrived in a home in tip-top condition with first class staff.

My mum's care on the nursing unit is very good. The nurses and care staff are lovely and always try to meet Mum's needs. I spend quite a lot of time here over a week, so if I have concerns I can always speak to the nurse that's available.

Review from Sheila A (Sister of Resident) published on 23 May 2018 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My sister has been a resident in Highfield Hall since the end of 2017 when she became unable to cope in with independent living. Now both her health and wellbeing has improved through the support and care she has received from all members of staff. She arrived at Highfield Hall a shadow of the person I knew, she needed a carer to visit four times a day but was still refusing to eat, care for her personal hygiene or communicate. Since being a resident she has gained weight, is eating and is extremely communicative when I visit.
When she started to slip back into not eating, a member of staff went to a local chip shop, my sister's favourite meal has always been chip shop fish and chips, that to me showed the staff are prepared to "go that extra mile."

Also now enjoys the company of staff and residents, is keen to take part in all the activities provided, which are many and varied, was wonderful on one visit to see her singing the old songs with the entertainers provided on that day.

My Mum has been a resident on the Pandora Suite, Highfield Care home for over 5 years. She has Alzheimer's. I would say she is as happy as she can be having such a debilitating illness. Staff are very friendly, treating residents with care, compassion and empathy, often going the extra mile. Residents retain their dignity and are treated with respect. There is also a lightness of spirits on the unit. Trips out and activities provided make a welcome, pleasant change, adding normality to their lives. The home itself is welcoming to relatives and visitors. Assistance is on hand to allay anxieties family members may have. The home grounds are kept to a high standard. Should anyone be seeking care for a loved one, I would have no hesitation in recommending Highfield Care home.

Pleasant surrounding inside and out, well maintained. Laundry services could be improved, articles of clothing going missing occasionally. Staff very aware of personal needs and very caring in their attitude and implementation of help. I feel that there could be more activities organised to enable residents to socialise and be profitably occupied and stimulated.

Review from G C (Cousin of Resident) published on 2 May 2018 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
I chose Highfield Hall for my cousin who has dementia because the first person I spoke to was kind and helpful. I had rung them on a late Sunday afternoon after a stint at my cousin's house because I was moving up North to be nearer my daughter.
After consulting my cousin her G.P agreed that it would be better all round if I relocated her to be near me. At Highfield Hall from day 1, the care and attention my cousin received has been amazing. She has been treated with the utmost respect and patience. There is always an activity on the go; afternoon tea provides freshly made cake and soft music.

After 5 years observing both staff and residents (and participating in sing-a-longs!) I have no hesitation in recommending Highfield Hall for a loved one, it allows great peace of mind.

Highfield Hall Nursing/Care Home has the X-factor. All the staff, management, auxiliary, domestic, administrative and maintenance are professionals in their own field, very well trained. Training is essential, but so too is the genuine care and respect shown by every staff member to both residents and visitors. Excellent facilities, the friendly, homely atmosphere, delicious meals, varied activities, large tastefully designed bedrooms all help to make Highfield a happy home and my lovely brother feels loved, cherished and an important part of the Highfield family. He has been at Highfield now for 6 years and I know he is happy because he always tells me on my frequent visits. I also see this for myself. Thank you, Highfield.

This home has welcomed our mother with open arms. The manager and staff couldn't be more helpful. They are caring and kind. Nothing is too much trouble. They listen if you have concerns about the resident's care and health. You feel like they care about the family as well. When you walk in you get a happy and welcoming feeling. The place is alive. There are plenty of activities for residents to join in. It is clean, it is caring. It was a great choice for our Mother.

Standards have improved rapidly since new manageress took over a few years ago. It has the overall atmosphere of walking into a small hotel on the seafront. Any concerns one may have are listened to sincerely and dealt with quickly. There is an overall, one big family, atmosphere.
