My grandad was admitted to hospital due to falling unwell - throughout his hospital stay, he kept saying how he could not wait to get back to Hope House. On returning to Hope House, the staff have been amazing and have supported my grandad and us as a family. We are so happy with the care my grandad
receives at Hope House - thank you to the staff for all they do.
Reply from Alison Foreman, Head of Sales and Marketing at Hope HouseWhat a wonderful review! We are so proud of the Hope House team and the standard of care they provide; your thanks are very much appreciated. Kind regards.

My great-grandad recently moved into Hope House - at first, he was reluctant to go into a care home, but now he said it is the best thing he did. He has made new friends through activities within the home, and he has managed to get back on his feet after having reduced mobility from a decline in health.
His room is always clean and tidy, and the staff are always willing to help; the care for him has been outstanding. Thank you so much to team Hope House. I would definitely recommend the home.
Reply from Maxine Farnworth, Corporate Development Manager at Hope HouseThank you, your kind words will be very much appreciated by the team at Hope House, who work so hard to ensure that residents receive the very best of care.

The resident was a close family friend who came to Hope House because he was so ill and unable to return home. He was cared for with dignity and respect despite some of his behaviours caused by his illness being challenging to the staff. No one knew how long he would stay with you, it was a short, stay
and we are glad it was with you all.

My husband received end of life care at Hope House. He was treated universally with kindness and dignity. Every member of staff I met was concerned with doing their best for him. Individual staff members went the extra mile to make sure everything that could be done to make things better for him was
done and for that I am extremely grateful.

My family member recently came into Hope House and the care he is receiving is outstanding, we are so glad that he has come to hope house as he has been treated with dignity and respect. Prior to him being admitted to Hope House, we contacted them as we were unsure of what to do, the team was so helpful
and helped us all along the way helping the process to be less stressful. The management team have been amazing and we would just like to thank the Hope House team for their care and support at this time for my cousin.

I would just like to say how wonderful the staff who cared for my father were as he approached the end of his life, while at Hope House. He was able to enjoy entertainment, as we have many happy memories of him doing this. He put weight on while being cared for at Hope House. We appreciated how many
staff came to show their respects at my dad's funeral. Thank you!

My relative received excellent rehabilitation care at Hope House whilst recovering from a fall. The staff supported their independence and genuinely cared about them. My relative arrived at the home extremely poorly from hospital and the Managers were 'straight on' sorting issues such as a temporary
GP to get a much-needed prescription. I am very grateful for the care and attention they received and would thoroughly recommend this home.

I can't begin to speak of the team at Hope house without mentioning the management individuals, they are excellent. My relative received care that was compassionate, kind, gentle and most of all, professional. I am a retired registered nurse and I would recommend the staff including nursing, admin,
cooks and cleaners. I cannot thank them enough for the peace of mind I had during my relative's short stay.

The level of care my mother has received over the last twelve years at Hope House has been second to none. The staff are loving and caring and will bend over backwards to cater for all the residents wants and needs. In 2010 I took my mother out of a different care home because the standard of care was
abysmal and put her in Hope House. When we arrived she was warmly greeted by the manager and the staff and this was the first time I saw her smile since she had her stroke. She has been laughing and smiling ever since. I can only say a sincere thank you to the management and all the staff.

My mum was a resident at Hope House for two years. She has received excellent care from a dedicated team of staff who became her family during the lockdowns.
I have been particularly pleased with the cleanliness of the home and the personal care given to my Mum.
The warmth of all the staff during
Mums last days was comforting for the family.

My mother was a resident at Hope House until her passing on 5th July this year. She was always in the best place for the care she required. Management and staff in fact everybody was good with mum and she was very well looked after. There were some special people for mum at Hope House but my thanks
go to everyone for taking care of her whilst she was a resident. The special things are done for mum - taking her to visit her sick niece and to the eventual funeral of her niece will never be forgotten. The day of her 100th birthday was, considering visiting rules, a lovely occasion, and the cake, candles, and singing of Happy Birthday by staff was really wonderful for mum. That short piece of video will be with myself and my sister forever so thank you. She treasured her card from the Queen. Thank you for the bingo, my mum's favourite and most successful, and outings in the early days. Thank you for attending her funeral and just thank you again

Couldn't have found a better home for my Gran. Lovely friendly and helpful staff who appear to love the job they do. Get the feeling they almost love my gran as much as I do.
Very clean environment and the homely home I've ever visited that smells nice too. They go out of their way to try and help
in this awful Covid situation.
So thankful to God for all of them and I really mean that.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.566)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.566) out of 10 for Hope House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.716 for Hope House is calculated as follows: ( (162 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) + (12 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 176 Ratings = 4.716
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.85 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hope House is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4, which has been reached with 14 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
