Since moving from my home into Hope House I have been made to feel at home with staff and carers. I am really well-fed, the meals are beautiful and good. I am also kept clean and my clothes and bed are spotless.

Hope House provide excellent support and care for my mum. I feel they have a personal approach and go over and above to give feelings of reassurance to my mum, particularly in the current situation. They keep me updated with regular video calls so we keep in touch. Thank you for your kindness.

Thank you all so much for looking after my mum. She thoroughly enjoyed her stay and looks forward to visiting again. The home has a lovely atmosphere and it is nice and warm. Mum also had some really enjoyable meals. My mum was made to feel welcome as soon as she arrived. She was given a lovely room,
nice and bright, and signage was in place to advise staff of my mum's specific mobility and transfer isuses. The manager and staff were very friendly, and treated my mum with kindness and respect throughout her stay. The home had been trimmed up for Valentines Day, which made it look really special, and Mum enjoyed the Valentines Day entertainment. Staff had really made an event. Overall, I felt extremely comfortable leaving my mum in the care of Hope House whilst I went on holiday. I was most impressed, as were some of my mum's friends who visited her. Kind regards and a big 'thank you'.

My father was a previous resident at Hope House and I have to say he was most welcomed. The manager showed me around the home when I first went to look and I must say she was very polite and reassuring that my father would be looked after. The staff that are employed, show a very caring and professional
way toward the residents. They included my father in all activities that he could do and he really enjoyed the days out they organised. I would recommend Hope House for anyone who’s looking for a nice, clean residential home with caring staff. I would personally like to thank all the staff for looking after my dad while he was there. I will never forget you all.

Hope House is the best example of what a care home should be and should be graded outstanding. It is well managed, spotlessly clean and good food. Staff to patient ratio is excellent, with caring staff who have dignity and respect for the resident. This is a happy home, with support and understanding
for the family. Thank you Hope House - keep up your standards, you have a special home.

Having a dear friend needing care is a scary thing.
You want a place where the carers really do care.
Where there is an emotional investment in the delivery of care.
You want the place to be clean, to offer good wholesome food.
You want the place to feel like "home" and does not smell of wee.
I
have visited a number of care facilities and this one is the best.
Hope House ticks all the boxes.
Well done to all the staff, keep doing what you are doing because you have got it just right.
I am really impressed.

Hope House looked after my granddad in his final days this year and now look after my grandma who is bedbound after suffering a large stroke. The staff are amazing, my gran always looks settled and content, always clean and her room is perfect for what she needs. I couldn't ask for more from them and
would recommend the home to anyone looking for caring and genuinely lovely staff.

After a previous bad experience in a care home, it was a refreshing experience when my Dad came to Hope House. Both Dad and family were welcomed and well cared for. We could leave him at night reassured that he was safe and looked after. The staff are friendly, professional and efficient and nothing

The home is friendly and comfortable with very kind, professional, caring staff. The home also has a very kind and helpful "handy man", nothing is too much trouble for him from fixing bird table, pictures, TV to chatting to residents. Staff listen to any help or advice you can offer about your relative.

After a bad experience in a previous care home, resulting in a lengthy hospital admission, my husband was transferred to Hope House. All the staff have shown infinite patience and understanding and I now feel I can relax and have confidence in leaving my husband in their care. Hope House is clean,
safe and welcoming. I would definitely recommend Hope House to anyone needing special care.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.566)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.566) out of 10 for Hope House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.716 for Hope House is calculated as follows: ( (162 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) + (12 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 176 Ratings = 4.716
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.85 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hope House is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4, which has been reached with 14 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
