Overall Experience

We (her children) are very happy with the care provided by Priory Court for our Mum. She was suffering with dementia, poor eyesight and needed nursing care. The home is very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Mum's room was immaculately maintained and she was kept warm. She must have also liked the food because she ate and drank most of what was provided (we know this from the daily records). Another plus is that she often joined in with the regular entertainment - she loved a good sing-song. Mum was happy at Priory Court. She spent her last two years there and recently passed peacefully. We are very grateful to all the staff there for the care and kindness that they showed her in these last months and days.

Arrived 12/4/2024. No previous personal or family experience of care home life. Previously living at home alone for six years following Wife's death. Managing very well with family and carer help - fully mobile, active - walks, gardening, painting. Then early April persisting medical problems and two falls at home (no injuries). Family concerns re welfare and need for 24-hour care. GP very helpful in making arrangement for residence at Priory Court. Early days regretted/resented loss of independence. Had to learn the house routines, but had to ask or find out by experience. Now well settled - warm, comfortable, feel cared for and cared about.

My mother has been at the home for nearly two months and I'm very happy in all aspects of the quality of the care given. All the staff are attentive and respectful and I feel that my mum is treated with dignity at all times. The staff are very approachable which helps me feel reassured and supported. Big thank you to all the staff.

My father was placed at Priory Court via NHS after a very bad fall. His needs were 24/7 hour care. Upon arriving at Priory Court he had splendid care and attention. Communication from the home was outstanding, whenever I rang there was always a kind and caring response. My overall experience was splendid. A big thank you to the matron and the team.

Our dear dad was in the care of Priory Court for just five weeks before he passed away peacefully. The staff treated Dad with the utmost dignity, respect and care, enabling us to spend quality time with Dad at the end of his life. Dad was clean, warm, comfortable and safe and my brother and I were so relieved to find this home from home for Dad. Priory Court, run by the matron and deputy matron, is a real gem. Small, welcoming, warm and above all spotless. All the staff were so welcoming, at what is a very strange and upsetting time when, as a family, you have to decide that you need help looking after your loved one. The residents have plenty of input and the 'home' truly is their home. Well done Matron and Team and thank you.

Whilst in the care of the Priory, my mum was happy and settled and was cared for really well. In fact, nothing was too much trouble, as long as she was happy.
I would also like to thank them for their prompt action when Mum suffered a stroke, which enabled her to receive treatment quickly.

Unfortunately, she passed away a few days later, but thanks to the Priory for their efficient action.

A very well-run home by professional and caring staff. When choosing a home for Mum we turned up unannounced and was greeted and welcomed to look around. The matron was very knowledgable, professional and switched on to everything within the home. All public areas were spotless as were the rooms and all the staff were genuinely helpful, polite and caring. We had no hesitation in placing our precious mum in their capable and compassionate custody. From any subsequent visits to the home I have witnessed extremely high standards of care and compassion. The home runs like clockwork, very efficiently with experienced staff. It gives me peace of mind Mum is being cared for in the best possible hands when her needs became too much to meet at home.

My mother was discharged from Royal Preston Hospital to Priory Court. She had lived independently up to September 2023. Following two falls she has been in and out of hospital four times. The move to Priory Court has been made easy because of the professional approach by the staff and particularly the Senior leadership team. All the staff have been polite, caring and mindful of the needs and wishes of mum. We are quite a large family and many relatives visit, including mum's great-grandson who is three. We have all been made to feel welcome. The facilities are very good and residents can join in or not with the various activities depending on their preference. I feel I can relax because I know mum is being well cared for.

My husband suffers from Alzheimer's, and has been a resident at this excellent nursing home since November 2023.

I feel very satisfied with the care provided. I especially like the "quiet room" where family and friends can visit my husband and talk in private, and comfort.

My nan's first Christmas away from home without my grandad I thought would be extremely hard for her as well as us, as a family. The home has made her feel so 'at home' now that it was made special by being part of a caring, family environment.

I have had 2 family members in the Priory Court Nursing Home Lytham St Anne’s.
My aunty was in the nursing home 17 months ago - she was discharged from hospital and was needing palliative care which she received and she died whilst in the nursing home.
My mum was in the nursing home in January 2024.
My mum was discharged from hospital after a 30-night stay... to the nursing home - my mum required palliative care - my mum died whilst in the care home.
Both my mum and aunty were treated with respect, all the staff were professional in their manner towards my mum and my aunty.
The communication from the matron and deputy matron to us was very good.
We all felt comfortable visiting as we could sit firstly with my aunty in her room then 17 months later when my mum was admitted we sat in my mum's room and had privacy to visit her.
So we could spend this valuable time with them both before they died.

When my mum died the respect she was shown has stayed with me as it was lovely.

My wife was admitted from the hospital after clearing an infection.
She has multiple sclerosis and dementia.
In spite of her having difficulty in communication and being bed-bound, the staff were very caring.

They also took the time to make sure I was kept up to date with her condition. This was very reassuring.

Mum has been living at Priory Court for the best part of three years and is very settled and happy there. She has ongoing and increasing health problems and her needs are generally well supported. Matron continues in her efforts to make small but regular improvements to the home, resulting in a smart, refreshed look and a more comfortable and welcoming feel. The staff are great and very caring, they seem fond of Mum and she likes them a lot. The food choices seem varied and I often notice pleasant smells from the kitchen! There are regular activities for residents, including quizzes, musical performances and trips out in the minibus. Overall I would highly recommend Priory Court.

I would like to start by saying how amazing the matron, deputy matron and staff are, they have shown my nan what angels they are. They provide the utmost care and respect any family would want. They are all so helpful with any enquiries I have. I know my nan loves the food. They have daily activities which keep my nan and other residents entertained from bingo to keeping fit as it's all written on the board for us to see. I think it's a good idea also that the daily menu is on show for everyone to see.

My sister in law has been receiving end of life care and support at Priory Court. During her time here there have been a number of challenging family relationship issues to deal with as well as managing her declining health. Matron and Deputy Matron have managed this sensitive and difficult situation with professional integrity and mutual respect. I don't live in the area and regular visiting has not always been easy. They have always been available to talk to on the phone and have made sure that I have been kept up to date with all decisions to ensure my sister in law's best interests have been taken into account at all times.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to them and the staff for the excellent care my sister in law received.
