Overall Experience

Mum initially went into Preston Glades for respite care for a fortnight. However, she settled in so well that we decided to extend this period and then to make her stay permanent. Mum received genuine care and compassion from all the staff that looked after her and we were fully informed about anything affecting mum. Video calls were arranged by one of the carers to enable us to keep in contact with mum and during these calls the level of care provided was obvious. She would hold and stroke the carers hands throughout and emphasised how well she was being looked after. She was calm and settled and I was reassured that we had made the right choice for her. When mum required end of life care, the manager ensured our wishes for mum’s care were met. A dedicated one to one carer then looked after mum. They even arranged a birthday card to be sent to me with mum’s handprint which I will treasure. I am comforted mum spent the last months of her life cared for by such a dedicated team.

Overall Experience

My mum was in the Glades Care Home due to dementia then, unfortunately, caught Covid. The staff were wonderful to her and were very empathetic and caring at all times, they have such a caring voice. All the staff cared about mum, holding her hand, doing her hair, caring unconditionally. It was never a problem when I phoned to see how mum was. I did see mum through a window and she had a lovely cosy room with caring staff. I would definitely recommend this care home, as they looked after mum so well, even to the end.

Very pleased mum is being looked after well during covid19. Happy that she is safe and her personal needs are taken care of. Little personal note came out of the blue but was very sweet and touching.

The best thing for my brother-in-law was when he went into Preston Glades Care Home, he hasn't looked back. He is very well looked after and well fed. He is so clean and tidy which he wasn't when he went in and very happy to be there. It also gives us a peace of mind.
