My husband was admitted to The Old Vicarage in September. My family and I are delighted with the care my husband is receiving. The nursing staff and carers are wonderful with my husband. His room is very nice and overlooks the fields. The food is excellent and also the activities are really fun and interaction with the residents is second to none.

My mother moved in on December 23rd (one week ago) and the organisation here is excellent, efficient and very friendly. Easy and accommodating to deal with whilst very professional. My mum is happy and safe here with very caring and attentive staff, making it feel like a big family. Every detail is thought of and maintenance is constant. All round excellent.

I feel my mum gets good care in a safe environment. The staff are helpful and courteous and the home is clean and nursing care is good. I have left the management rating blank as I haven't met the current manager. The staff turnover, particularly at management level, is very high. I do know the deputy manager. There are many issues with the hoist equipment and lack of batteries - this can be a problem for Mum. The activities are excellent and there are many opportunities.

Mum is one of the longest residents at the Old Vicarage being eight years in dementia. They have their ups and downs like most care homes, but their care for my mum over these years has astounded me. They are not just there for mum but families too. When your family member goes into the care system you can feel locked out. I can honestly say, apart from the covid period, they have and still do, support me with Mum. The care staff go out of their way to help you and will talk you through any stage. Always professional.

My aunt has spent the last 8 years in The Old Vicarage, on the Willow's Unit. During this time she has always been shown great respect and cared for by the staff. She has always had her needs met. If I have any queries, they are dealt with quickly. My aunt's care is discussed regularly and I am contacted before any changes take place. There have been lots of activities for the residents and pre-covid, these often included invitations to the residents' families. The staff are caring and make the residents feel part of a large family. Thank you.

I would like to thank all the staff for their exceptional care when looking after my mum. I was anxious that Mum had to have respite care after being in the hospital, but I needn't have worried. The staff were wonderful and communicated with me every day on Mums progress and how she had settled. They sent me a video of the room Mum would be staying in, and have been caring towards both my mum and the family, as they are aware of family fears when you are unable to visit. Mum looks happy and is finally getting back to her old self, and this is down to the special care she is receiving, and the regular video calls that they make with her to the family.

Thank you, and keep up the good work.

Mum initially came to The Old Vicarage for respite, but now a permanent resident. The family's concerns about not being able to view the home due to covid restrictions were quickly alleviated as all the staff are caring, thoughtful, friendly and loving. Mum's words 'they are marvellous'. Mum needed extra care after a recent operation, and it was a great comfort to know how well she was being looked after. Weekly activities are posted online, which I look forward to seeing. A Covid safe visitor's pod is a God Send, which has recently been fitted.

My husband has been a resident for almost 3 years but he went into hospital last December with pneumonia and lost weight during his stay. The staff were horrified and determined to put the weight back on.
All as expected, but when lockdown came I could no longer visit properly. Since then he has lost weight steadily and no one from the home alerted me, even though I phoned regularly.
It was only when I asked specifically what his weight was, that I was advised he had dropped to 54kg - from 69kg in 10 months!! He weighs less than I do. I am 5'2"tall and take a size 12. He is 5'10" and was in a size L.

I asked for a copy of his weight records for the last 18 months so I could try and work out what and how it happened. The Manageress refused on Data protection grounds. Whose data are they protecting? My husband's or theirs? Do not rely on this home to keep you informed of your loved one's welfare during lockdown.

My mum has been a resident at The Old Vicarage for nearly a year now. As a family, we continue to be delighted with the love, care and support that Mum receives. The staff are kind, compassionate and dedicated to the resident's care and well being. The activities team do an amazing job providing interesting activities for the residents to engage with. All the staff are friendly and approachable, keeping us updated and in touch with Mum despite the difficulties that Covid has caused. When we visit the home, there is always a lovely relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Mum loves the food which is homemade and very appetising. We have peace of mind knowing that Mum is getting the best possible care. Thank you all so much.

When looking for a home for my mum it was the most depressing time of my life. I thought I was a failure to her and I was letting her down. I went around lots of care homes and hated every one. I treated it as I was moving in, I needed that feeling you get when you buy a house and you know it’s the “one.” Well I felt it at The Old Vicarage, my heart skipped and I knew my mum would be safe, cared for and looked after. I waited for a while until a vacancy was available. My mum has been there 3 years now and that feeling I had then is still there, love this place, thank you to all the staff for making this the best decision I’ve ever had.

Placing a relative into care is a massive decision.
As a family, we wanted to keep our relative at home as long as we could but there came a point when she needed 24hour care that this was no longer possible.
I’ve forgotten how many homes we looked around and it was a constant worry to find the best one for our relative.
Having found The Old Vicarage/willows we struck the jackpot!

The staff are amazing! Every single one of them! The managers, nurses, carers and maintenance staff, they all care.

I have only had the use of The Vicarage Nursing Home for a short period of time but my experience and care mum received was excellent. From the first time I went to view the home I knew immediately this was the place for my 98-year-old mum. The rooms vary in size, really well equipped and most of all exceptionally clean. The staff always had a smile for everyone, so very caring and I knew she was in really good hands and didn't hesitate with The Old Vicarage being her new home. The food was high quality and all homemade and very appetising. The Old Vicarage Nursing Home is set in a lovely rural area of Burtonwood.

My Dad is at the Old Vicarage to recuperate. The staff and nurses are completely dedicated to their residents. The level of care my Dad has received is second to none. We are all one family and I cannot thank and recommend highly enough each and everyone who works there. Diane the Manager is a wealth of knowledge and support. The Nurses and Staff are quick to respond whenever and wherever necessary. We are very protective of Dad but we completely trust that he is in safe hands and he has gone from strength to strength and will be coming home soon. The long term residents are treated with respect and dignity, attention to detail and nothing is too much trouble.

My brother has mild/moderate learning disabilities combined with some autistic features. Since my brother came to The Old Vicarage" in February 2018, we have been very impressed by all aspects of the care which my is receiving.

Previously, my brother has not mixed well with others. Now, however, he relates much more freely. Recently my brother became confident enough to sing a solo and was delighted to receive a round of applause. My brother is very happy at living at The Old Vicarage, where he is treated with great kindness and care.
