My Aunty is a resident following a massive stroke and right from the start we were treated well.
The staff, management and administrator were very accommodating and they attend to our concerns as family members equally as they look after her with love, affection and dignity.

She responds to their care and knows their commitment and genuine care for her individual needs.

Mother-in-law was taken on holiday to Blackpool for 3 days by care staff. While away, her room was painted with new carpet etc., so happy on her return.

Thank you for taking the trouble to review The Old Vicarage. This is a home which really takes the time and trouble to 'go the extra mile' for all of their residents and I am so pleased that both the holiday and the bedroom 'makeover' were a resounding success! Kind regards

My nan has been at The Old Vicarage for around a year give or take.
It's always such a pleasure to visit. The home prides itself on being friendly. There is a lot of lighthearted banter from the minute you walk through the door.
They are always looking for something different to do. The recent garden competition has been great fun. The staff are so competitive and "house proud". It had us all laughing. My favourite debate of the year has definitely been the Yankee candle flavours....sorry ladies but the ginger one did smell like curry haha.

Because of the friendliness of the staff, we always feel at ease when discussing my nan's care and know that she is in safe, competent hands. This is not a care home....it is a "HOME". You should all be proud.

When my brother was admitted initially and for some time afterwards, I was sometimes disappointed by certain aspects of the care home (laundry problems, articles of my brother's clothing going missing, lack of attention to his personal grooming etc) For some time now, however, I have noticed significant and encouraging improvement in the way the home is run and in its general ambience, as well as in the care that my brother receives. I would like to thank the management and staff or their continuing efforts.

Thank you very much for taking the trouble to review our home. The care my mum receives here is excellent. The nurses and carers always treat her with care, compassion and dignity. The care shown to the family is also excellent. The nurses always take the time to keep you informed of mums condition, treatment and participation in events, they are always warm and welcoming.
The staff took time and an interest in finding out about who mum is and was so they can engage her, talking with her about her interests and people who are important to her.
Even ensuring she has birthday cards for families birthdays, which means so much.

I am so pleased that mum is at this care home and getting the very best of care.

The Old Vicarage Nursing and Residential Care Centre is the best home around Warrington. My uncle was a resident there for four years and he received excellent care. My neighbour is now a resident and has nothing but praise for the staff, meals and bedrooms. The staff are very friendly food plenty and excellent and the care they give to residents is excellent.

I find the staff to be fantastic with my Nana. The staff are; open, honest and truthful. My Nana seems happy and content at The Vicarage. As Family members, we are always made to feel welcome and often chat with the staff, whilst they are helping my nana (Nana enjoys having conversations with them whilst they are caring for her). The staff are quick to answer/respond to any concerns we raise. I would say the activities that are provided are excellent but I would prefer more activities than currently. I have made a suggestion so all residents can watch a TV in the communal lounge and I fully trust this will be considered. I fully trust The Old Vicarage with the care of my Nana.

My father has been a resident of The Willows within The Old Vicarage for just over a month, having been transformed from another home at the start of March 2017. The move went smoothly and my father settled in well. Before deciding on The Old Vicarage, I visited several care homes and this facility suited my father's needs and requirements the best. On my first visit (unannounced on a weekend evening) I was very impressed with the care home. The staff were friendly, helpful, informative and nothing was too much trouble. After watching the staff interacting with the residents, I had no reservation in putting my father's name down for a place at The Willows.

In the intervening period between expressing an interest and the move, the management team at the home were brilliant, keeping us informed of room availability and adjusting on likely timescales. As my father's vascular dementia continues apace, I have no doubt that we made the right decision and have no hesitation in recommending The Old Vicarage

My brother has been here for several years now.
The carers and entertainment staff have got to know him well and have a lovely rapport with him, laughing at his dry sense of humour which lightens the darker side of life in a dementia home.
Not only do they care for him but they are always there for us, understanding the pain we go through and offering support when needed.
The current management and staff always find time to speak and I know I can approach them at any time about any concerns I may have with the knowledge that they will listen and do something about it.

The home itself is always clean and bright with a friendly atmosphere.

We could not be more delighted at the care provided by the team here. No matter what time we visit, there is always supervision of the residents. They are all dressed and clean. The general ambience is calm and the love and kindness, together with respecting the dignity of the residents is clearly evident. The little touches are also there e.g. giving hand massage and moisturiser after cutting nails. The staff all have a sense of humour and are compassionate towards the residents and their families. This home is truly a home and a wonderful place to be.

Recently I found myself looking around for a care home for my dad having looked at a few you get a feel for the type of home you have in your head and how you would like your loved ones cared for, this for me was by far the best with its modern décor and its really bubbly staff that like a good genuine laugh and a joke with the residents and engaging with them. I go in most days even taking my black Labrador in who gets made a big fuss off, it's great to see my dad smiling again as he went through a period of not being well and losing the interest in a lot of things, this place gets a big thumbs up from me, so to all the staff keep up the good work.
