Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Our friend went into St.Lukes after being in hospital for six weeks. Our first visit we were warmly welcomed by the staff. The Manager had sent him a lovely welcome card and in his room was a hamper of goodies. Our visit tonight was again an excellent experience he was in the Dining room feeding himself
and sat with other residents. He was dressed smartly and the staff have managed to keep him looking smart, clean and shaven.
The decor of the home is bright and cheerful as are all the staff, taking time to chat to us and the residents.
His health has considerably improved since being discharged from hospital.
Reply from JA Davies, Registered Manager at St Luke's Nursing HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share this wonderful review. We are delighted to hear that your friend has settled in well at St Luke's and that you felt warmly welcomed on your visits.

Our team take great pride in ensuring every resident feels comfortable, supported, and valued, so it's lovely to know the welcome card, hamper, and personal care touches made a positive difference. Seeing him engaging with others, enjoying his meals, and looking smart and well is exactly what we hope for every day.

We're also pleased to hear that his health has improved since leaving the hospital. Our staff work incredibly hard to create a cheerful, caring environment, and your kind words mean a great deal to them.

Thank you again for your feedback-it truly is appreciated. If there is ever anything more we can do to support your friend or your family, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Best Regards

Jane

My mum has been in St Luke's since March this year. We couldn't ask for better care she getting. All staff are so lovely and I know I can go home and I know she is being looked after. The manager has changed this home around.

This is a bit of a hard review to write as it was during the pandemic and we never actually got to see inside St Luke's while my dad was a resident. I will though, give my honest opinion of what dealings we had with everyone. My dad was admitted in June 2020, and from the minute I spoke to staff on
the phone, I was really pleased and could tell how efficiently it was being run. I was given full information of how things worked in there and what Dad's room would be like, what unit he would be on and most of all, what care he would receive. Although we only got to see him all be it socially distanced in the garden, we could see Dad was really happy there and the care and attention the staff gave him were excellent. This made my mum feel happy. Sadly dad passed away in November 2020. Thank you to all the staff, you made my dad's final months happy ones when we were unable to be with him. I would definitely recommend St Luke's.

My dad was in St Luke's for 3-years, and the care he received was fantastic. The staff are very good and caring; in the end, they were there for my dad, my sister and my self - I can not thank them enough.

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.500)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.500) out of 10 for St Luke's Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for St Luke's Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (34 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 34 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Luke's Nursing Home is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.25
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
