Since my mum arrived here in Jan 2018, I have had no concerns or issues around her care.
She has come on leaps and bounds with eating, drinking, mobility and is her happy, confused self once again.
The staff are all lovely, professional and always let the family know what mum has been up to, good or bad.
The home is welcoming, a friendly atmosphere.

I couldn't think of a better place for mum to live.

A nice clean home with plenty of helpful and polite staff. My Mum commented that the unit is usually short staffed on nights. My mum also said that there is not enough choice when it comes to diabetic puddings and afternoon tea. There is always plenty of good activities on, which is really good.

My grandmother has been here for over 12 months and we are very happy with the care she receives. Staff work very hard and are friendly and helpful. My grandmother enjoys the food and there are plenty of choices! The activities are very good and the staff really encourage the residents to get involved. Overall this is a lovely, clean, friendly home.

My uncle came into Old Gates Care Home 18 months ago he lives in Cherry Unit I visit my uncle every day during this time I can honestly say that the staff are very caring treating each resident with dignity and respect and maintain happiness throughout the whole, friendly faces to greet you on entering the home by the reception staff. The management is very caring and understanding always listen to points of view and act very respectfully to ensure resident and family are happy in their care. What I like about a nursing and residential home is that there is always a qualified nurse on duty at all times in the home and regular GP visits, also a massive praise to activity, laundry, domestics, kitchen and maintenance staff who are all doing a great job. My uncle is very happy and comfortable here at Old Gates Care Home and is happy to spend the rest of his life here, thanks to a wonderful team.

Although my father was only resident in Old Gates Care Home for just less than two weeks, we found his care here excellent and always professional. The nursing staff made sure he was always comfortable and listened to our views. He was cared for with care and compassion in all aspects.

On each of my visits to administer Holly Communion I have found the staff very courteous and helpful. I have ticked the boxes below that I feel I can comment on, all others out of my experience range I have left blank.

We want to thank all the staff for the care, kindness and dignity they gave my Dad while he was at Old Gates, nothing was to much trouble. The staff were so thoughtful to my mum when we knew Dad didn't have long to live, always keeping us informed daily. We would recommend Old Gates to anyone looking for a home. Thank you from my Mum, Brother and myself.

As a temporary resident for respite care following hospitalisation and operation, all my personal needs were provided. The staff were attentive and helpful at all times. There was plenty of interaction and involvement in activities, as well as being left to rest fully when needed.

My dear mother moved here in mid January 2016. She resides in the nursing unit named Holly. Her general well being has improved way beyond my expectations as she was classed as being end of life prior to admission. Her food intake is now good, where as before she was eating next to nothing. Her room is excellent even though my mum does not recognise her surroundings. She is now able to walk a reasonable distance with help of 2 carers. The management and staff are lovely and easy to talk to, in order to explain my mums needs and wishes. All in all a very professional organisation.

I welcome this opportunity to thank you. I visit a friend monthly both as a friend and contact from Parish Church. She is on the Rowan Unit. She is very well cared for,t he staff are always kind to her and welcoming to me. It is a busy unit where the ladies and gentlemen need constant care, and everything done for them. The staff speak to them kindly respecting them. The unit and my friends room are always kept clean and tidy. I cannot speak highly enough of this wonderful home. The food is good (I fed my friend lunch one day, was there last week when she was been fed little bits of éclair) The staff are angels.
