My aunty was so poorly and was being neglected and abused by a friend in London. We brought her to Doncaster and nursed her back to health, got her an assisted living flat. life was beginning to look up for her. Turned out she had been very badly abused and neglected for a long time and we had only
just got to her in time. All of a sudden, aunties health turned for the worse and we nearly lost her on Christmas. Sadly she had a condition that meant the only treatment was palliative care. She was so weak and frail the hospital released her into the care of a horrible nursing home. We fought tooth and nail to remove her from said nursing home and got her into Bennfield. Finally, our auntie had the care and love she so desperately needed. The staff at Bennfield have been wonderful, caring, kind and have treated her like family. Professional, with high values, the manager of Bennfield has worked to ensure her home offers a beautiful and safe place for her residents. Can't thank her enough

My father-in-law came in with very fast onset of dementia
We had moved him from another care home in Thorne that couldn't meet his needs
He's now sadly not with us anymore
But benfield house staff
Really took excellent care of him
And made his final days the best and most comfortable he could
possibly have had
Thank you for everything

Dad has been at Bennfield coming up a year in December. After a short spell in another care home I cannot say what a relief it was to our family to have him here and settled.
The staff from house keeping, carers, nurses and management are amazing.
Dad's personal needs and challenges are always met. He
is always clean, well dressed and treat with dignity.
Nursing team always keep you updated of any change in care needs.
The staff are well trained caring and hard working.
We can go home after visiting knowing he is well looked after .
But for the families that can't always visit it is reassuring to know residents are in good hands.
Thank you to all Bennfield staff for your hard work.

After a turbulent time, a new year experience for us, this care home gave my dad everything he needs. He’s kept clean, dignified and given the food he loves. The staff cannot do enough for us and give everyone the personal touch they deserve. Very well managed and a care home that not only cares but
understands medication and the best needs of the residents. I remain very happy!

Our dad receives the best possible care at Bennfield House. All staff, regardless of their titles, are welcoming, helpful and kind. The most important thing for myself and my sister is that the staff truly care about each and every individual. There is a genuine feeling of warmth and love towards all
the residents. The way staff deal with the challenges faced is second to none. We feel confident and our minds have been put at ease that our dad is in such a special place.

My father has been a resident of Bennfield House for the last eighteen months. He has never been treated as anything other than a member of the wonderful family that lives and works at Bennfield. The staff all treat him like their grandad and he loves them as they love him. Visitors are treated like
family too, it’s such a wonderful environment. You know when you leave your loved one at the end of a visit that you are leaving them in safe, caring hands. Every member of staff, no matter what their role, takes the time to get to know the residents. I think this helps to give the residents a real feeling of safety and well-being.
Everything that the residents could possibly need is there and their comfort is the priority. They are treated with utmost care, respect and the ability to maintain their dignity. I would recommend Bennfield House and its wonderful staff to anyone.

Bennfield House was not offered to my aunt when it was first decided that she required 24-hour care in a care establishment. However, after a year in care, she was reassessed and was then deemed to need nursing care. Bennfield House has opened our family's eyes to how my aunt should have been treated
with love, respect and as a person not a number. Since being transferred there, her general health and well-being have greatly improved and she is now happy to live within care surroundings.
The whole team are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. I am kept informed of any developments, decisions in my aunt's care. Such a lovely home. Thank you everyone.

The entire team of care staff which ranges from the care home manager to the nurses, carers, kitchen staff, cleaners, the handy man and admin staff are all brilliant towards caring for my dad. They all provide an excellent standard of care and are all willing to go the extra mile in order to make a
positive difference for all the residents. I can't thank them enough for the quality of care they have given my dad.

During the time that my dad has lived in Bennfield House, I have always found the standards of care and hygiene to be extremely high, particularly when measured against the four previous homes my father had been in.
The staff are warm, kind and regularly receive training which I have witnessed, sufficient
staff are always on duty allowing them time to spend with clients such as my father. They go above and beyond for their residents, for example, my father was always anxious about not working and not having money in his hand and to calm him he “worked” in the dining room and received copied money. This went a long way to improve his level of happiness.
I am always informed of any issues or problems promptly as I am of the many events they organise.
It is clear that these exacting standards are lead and implemented from the top.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.806)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.806) out of 10 for Bennfield House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.906 for Bennfield House is calculated as follows: ( (97 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 106 Ratings = 4.906
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bennfield House is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 27 registered maximum number of service users is 5.4, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
