I've seen vast improvements over recent months. Communication is excellent, with regular relatives meetings and the introduction of key workers who liaise regularly with relatives and any concerns they may have.
I recently attended a Coronation celebration event, which was very interactive; the residents
loved it and had a wonderful time.
I find the carers very warm and attentive; the residents are very loved and well cared for.

The level of care and compassion at Cedars Care Home is second to none. The staff are very caring and friendly and extremely supportive. Nothing is too much trouble. The overall feel when you enter is that my grandma is happy and safe and well looked after and, as a family member, that feeling is priceless.

The Cedars Care Home has an excellent feeling of family/friendly feel about it. They are fully supportive of the needs for all residents which I have seen during my visits to see my dad. It fills me with reassurance that all my dad's needs are being fulfilled during his stay here and they do their utmost
to make me feel welcome whenever, day or night. I would recommend Cedats tot any family or friends.

Excellent service with excellent staff who could not do enough for my dad whilst here on respite, very friendly throughout my dad's stay and welcoming both myself and my daughter whilst visiting.
Would definitely recommend this care home.

I was very grateful to all the staff at Cedars Care Home, my dad was on respite for a few weeks before he took poorly, nothing was ever too much trouble for them. Even when they were busy, they always had time for us, his family. Great atmosphere and great care, can not thank them enough for everything
they did for my dad.

A family friend is in Cedars Care Home currently for three weeks which is now coming to an end. The warm welcome we receive from here is amazing, not only are all the staff so polite to him but also to us as visitors. I never for one second thought that he would settle as well as he has and that's down
to the caring nature of the staff at Cedars. When I go to visit it reminds me of a very friendly atmosphere where everyone is family. Nothing is too much trouble.

My grandad has come in for respite care, he has been in just over a week now and all the staff are so friendly and caring. They are pleasant and the one thing which really stands out is you can tell that it’s not just a job for them, they are all so passionate about what they do.
Initially, I was
worried about him going because of the not knowing. But after the first day, my mind was at rest immediately. We visit nearly every day and we are made to feel so welcome.
If you are looking for the perfect care for your loved one I would highly recommend Cedars Care Home.

Staff are friendly and always happy to assist and answer questions. Meals are nutritious and well-presented. Staff interact with the residents and activities are on every day. Rooms are spacious and residents are able to make them like home. Visiting hours are open which allows for relatives/friends
to have access when needed. I would highly recommend The Cedars as they've catered for her needs exceptionally.

Although Mum hasn't taken to care very well, she has been a resident since January 2020. I also work in a care home (learning disability) and I have always found the staff extremely pleasant, I would get the vibes if it wasn't a happy home. As a daughter I am happy for Mum to live there, people need
to realise any home isn't perfect, home is always best.

The home has looked after my mum amazingly, she is so happy and smiley every time I visit and that is what is most important.
The staff are genuinely caring and the management are so helpful and reassuring.

I have found that the home is extremely good. Nothing is too much trouble. Staff go out of their way to help you if you have any questions. Home has a very pleasant atmosphere. Dad has really settled in the home; he thinks he is in a hotel. As long as Dad is happy, I am as well.

My dad arrived at Cedars in September 2021 and was transferred to Cedar Lodge due to his care needs. Although using a stick or wheeled frame he was capable of walking. Today my dad is in hospital with pneumonia and cellulitis caused by a severe foot infection, he cannot walk and barely stand unaided
and his weight loss is evident. On one of our regular visits after complaining of foot pain we discovered what I can only describe as rotting feet and the smell was very unpleasant, after speaking to the manager and reading his care plan it was evident recordings of showering etc were not true. After assuring us of an internal investigation, to date, nothing has ever been reported back to the family as to why this was allowed to happen. They allowed my dad to sit all day and sleep all night in his chair saying they couldn't do anything if he wouldn't get in bed? I wish I could write more!
If you have a family member you cherish and love with all your heart - please chose another home.

My wife arrived on 11th November for two weeks respite. She walked on my arm on arrival. Lovely greeting. I called several times for an update and always a reassuring conversation.
I collected her on the 25th November and was amazed that they brought her to the car in a wheelchair. The reason apparently
was she had an issue walking the last two days.
Three staff members got her up, she couldn't stand straight and legs buckling. Very caring not.
I was unable to get her in and neighbours had to assist and at bedtime and the next morning.
Our social worker assessment was unsafe to stay and needed urgent placement.
She is now in another and they are working to get her muscles working gradually.
It can't be proven but the general opinion is... sitting for too long without exercise.
Burns on her hand and fingers apparently from spilt tea, surely drinks should not be that hot!
My wife is now in care for the foreseeable future until strong enough to come home.
I'm upset and very angry.

My review is a very good one, this was the first time that my mother has stayed at the Cedars Care Home, she suffered with dementia and we both really needed some respite. I'm very pleased that she was looked after so well and feel happy to send her again when respite is needed.
Thank you.

My mam went to cedars for respite care. The staff were wonderful...very caring and looked after my mam well. Due to covid and my mam only being in a week. I didn't visit but the staff let me face time which I thought was lovely of them. My mam seemed to enjoy it and hopefully, she will be going to Cedars
again. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone who wishes their family members to go....very clean ...and it is so obvious the staff do the job because they care.

This week I’ve been able to have a visit within the home to see my grandmother for the first time in over a year. I can’t praise all the staff enough, my visit was well organised and feel all precautions were taken.
During my visit, my grandmother told me how nice all the staff are to her and how
nothing is too much trouble. My grandmother had her hair blow waved and she told me she has it done every other day. Also my grandmother informed me that she enjoys the food and feels safe. Thank you everyone at Cedars.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.726)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.726) out of 10 for Cedars Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.916 for Cedars Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (142 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 155 Ratings = 4.916
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.81 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cedars Care Home is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2. 13 Positive Reviews ÷ 13.2 = 0.985
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
