Located in the historic town of Kimberworth, Cherry Trees is the only care home in Rotherham to be awarded ‘Outstanding’ in care in November 2019 by CQC. Cherry Trees offers 66 en-suite rooms equipped with the latest facilities and amenities.

The dementia-friendly home was awarded Care Home of the Year at the 2018 Orchard Care Home Heart Awards, and the Activity Coordinator won the Activity Coordinator Award for Yorkshire and Humberside at The Great British Care Awards 2017.

The home provides care for several conditions and complex needs, the staff are trained in end of life care and work with the Rotherham Hospice and local NHS teams, including District Nurses and mental health teams.

The home offers an activities room, dementia café, and a bright and airy conservatory, with access to secure gardens. Residents enjoy a variety of activities and the home hosts regular clubs such as the men’s health club. They boast strong links with the local community including schools, places of worship and Rotherham Football Club who often invite them to visit their stadium.

Although we were reluctant to move Mum to a care home the whole experience of moving her to Cherry Trees and her stay there has been extremely positive.
It made her final months as comfortable, safe and fulfilling as possible.
For the family there was peace of mind in the knowledge that she was safe
and well cared for.
The care was both personal and professional.

I have just been to visit my mum in Cherry Trees and feel I need to write this review to thank all of the staff so much for everything they are doing for my mum. She is so well cared for in Cherry Trees and we feel reassured that she is getting the best of everything. After a significant amount of time
in bed, which was Mum's wish, she is now out of bed and sitting in a chair in the lounge with other residents, eating her meals and being able to better see the entertainment/singers, etc. To see Mum sat up and being with other people and eating so well is absolutely amazing and has made us all so very happy. We want to thank all the staff so much for everything they do for Mum and for persevering in asking if she wants to get out of bed. It is with your care and patience that Mum has made this amazing change. Thank you from all of her family.

My mum received excellent care at Cherry Trees, they were welcoming supportive, and knowledgeable in their roles from the manager to the care staff. They cared for my mum for a number of years, I can’t recommend anywhere else.

My husband seems settled in Cherry Trees. He thinks the people there are his family, which is nice that he feels content and happy.
The staff are helpful to my husband. Sometimes when I visit my husband, he has had an accident and is in wet clothes. I feel that this is due to the staff being so busy
and that sometimes there isn’t enough staff. The staff do a great job though. The care home is very clean and well looked after!

My dad has been in Cherry Trees for a couple of years, during this time his Alzheimer’s advanced. The staff managed my dad’s care requirements excellently, with compassion and empathy. My Dad was afforded respect and treated with dignity. Sadly, he died recently, again the staff were compassionate and
very caring, delivering fantastic end of life care. They supported my sister and I during the final days and when we stayed with him in his final hours, they gave us privacy, whilst also offering support, drinks and food, advice. When Dad finally succumbed, the deputy manager was nothing less than brilliant. I myself am a nurse and have been for forty-one years, and I could not fault the care Dad received. I would like to offer a great big thank you to all the staff at Cherry Trees. If anyone is struggling to find a really brilliant care home, for a relative, Cherry Trees is the place to go in Rotherham. Thank you Cherry Trees.

My dad spent the last few years of life at Cherry Trees Care Home. Having worked as a senior manager for a social care residential provider in Cambs, I’m acutely aware of the challenges for the sector. The provision delivered to my dad specialised in Alzheimer’s care. Despite some challenges, the service
offered a happy environment with good levels of choice. The staff teams were always focused on solving issues and problems. I have been reassured throughout by the care standards delivered in practice by staff throughout. The learning culture between staff is evidently continuously in action. Thank you so much.

The staff and facilities here are first class, hence why we chose Cherry Tree Care Home as the place for Mum to be, having viewed three different care homes. The friendliness and care for the residents is clear for people to see and nothing is too much trouble and that stems from the management to carers

The staff were some of the happiest and friendliest people I’ve ever met. It was clear how much they cared for my grandma, and I cannot thank them enough for the support they gave us when Grandma passed away. I simply cannot fault the staff at Cherry Trees.
From the moment mum moved in we felt welcomed and involved with all aspects of mums care. The few minor concerns we did raise were dealt with quickly and we were made to feel that our opinion did matter. Mum was treated with the greatest respect and
she soon settled in, making friends in her time there, not just with the other residents but with many of the staff as well.
I cannot thank the staff at Cherry Trees enough for the way they looked after not just Mum, but my sister and myself during her time there.
They took the time to get to know Mum, asking us questions, talking to Mum about her life, taking an interest in her past and picking up on her love for Elvis Presley. From the management to the office staff, carers, maintenance, cleaners, palliative carers and anyone else I might have missed, thank you for everything you said and did to make Mum happy, safe, cared for and loved.

Mum has been at Cherry Trees for just over a year. I do not live locally so cannot visit often. Mum needed support and care because she has Alzheimer's and was unable to live alone. I have recently visited and cannot stress enough how improved Mum's condition is. She looks fit and healthy and is obviously
benefiting from the excellent meals and the care and company of those around her. She enjoys the activities and we love seeing the pictures posted on social media. Mum still has her ups and downs, but the care and attention provided mean that her needs are attended to with sympathy and patience. The time I am able to spend with Mum is calmer and more enjoyable. To see first-hand how caring and competent the staff are means I know we made the right choice. The staff have been very helpful in keeping me up to date which, from a distance, has been very reassuring. Mum's quality of life has improved significantly at Cherry Trees. I return home knowing she is in excellent hands.

Mum was resident at Cherry Trees Care Home in Kimberworth Park, Rotherham from September 2021 to August 2023. She was officially diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in November 2021. We chose Cherry Trees for its good reviews and its close proximity to Mum’s previous home of over 40 years. The care at Cherry
Trees was fabulous. The staff were excellent and very supportive of both my sister and I during Mum’s time there. The staff go above and beyond to make sure that residents are looked after, despite staff shortages on occasions. They are very caring and lovely towards residents. They keep them safe and happy. Everyone was very respectful and supportive in Mum’s final days too. I am so happy that they were able to accommodate Mum. I would happily recommend Cherry Trees to anyone in the same situation as Mum and my sister and myself. It was not an easy time, but Cherry Trees helped us immensely. Thank you all at Cherry Trees.

My Auntie has just spent 6 months in Cherry Trees Care Home, Rotherham.
When my Auntie was admitted, her health was very poor. She was suffering from an auto-immune condition that had been impossible for her family, carers,GP and District Nurse to get under control. She was also suffering from several
other health issues including Alzheimer's.
From the moment she entered Cherry Trees, the staff took over her care, dealing effectively with the very stubborn symptoms of her condition and sympathetically supporting her as an Alzheimer's resident.
I always found the staff competent, caring and willing to go the extra mile to ensure that my Auntie was comfortable and settled, despite the challenges this might present. Nothing was too much trouble from bringing her meals in bed if she didn't want to get up to calling in health professionals to address other issues.
My Auntie's quality of life and the quality of the time we spent with her improved significantly in Cherry Trees. Thank you so much.

My Aunt spent the last 5 months of her life in Cherry Trees. She often expressed she felt safe and cared for there, and I always had peace of mind that she was being looked after. The care and compassion from all of the staff were excellent and was really reassuring. Her specific healthcare needs were

My brother moved into Cherry Tree’s Care Home in March after giving up his home. He was made most welcome into the home, the carers are lovely and nothing too much trouble. The home is clean and his room smells fresh and clean every time we go and visit him. He is very well-liked in the home and always
thanks the staff for looking after him.

My recently deceased Mum spent what turned out to be her final two years at Cherry Trees. Not only was my Mum very happy there, with lots of activities and being able to chat with fellow residents, but she also received a standard of care that, in my family's opinion, was second to none. The staff were
thoughtful, caring and helpful and because of this, we were confident in the knowledge that my Mum was safe and secure, with both her personal and medical needs being attended to. I also think it important to bring out that during the Covid-19 crisis, the staff went 'above and beyond' to enable us to have as much contact as possible with my Mum whilst adhering to the health protocols. This was especially important to us since we no longer live in the Rotherham area. I have no hesitation in recommending Cherry Trees Care Home.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank the staff and senior care of Cherry Trees Care Home.
The staff went up and beyond their caring duties.
My mum was admitted in June last year and we all knew that my mum would be nursed to her end of life eventually.
I found the staff genuinely compassionate
and caring.
I also felt fully supported in my time of grief.
The staff were extremely empathetic and understanding.
I would like to thank you through to her end of life care.
We did have a bit of humour as that is what people need sometimes to soften the blow.
I will certainly miss you all.

We're so grateful to all at Cherry Trees Care Home for making mum's two years there a very happy and safe experience. During a testing time with Mum's failing health and also the Covid pandemic, Mum actually thrived. She loved the staff, the relationships she formed with carers and residents was genuine.
Cherry Trees gave her, a recently widowed woman, a time to recover in a caring atmosphere, whilst giving Mum the confidence to realise that socialising with the other residents enabled her to live life again.
As a family, we could relax as we knew every health issue was addressed and any hospitalisation was managed. Our mum was allowed to live out her life in a way she wanted, without Cherry Trees it wouldn't have been as dignified or kind. We had looked at lots of care homes beforehand and had had experience of a few, Cherry Trees was in a different league and gave us confidence that Mum's mental and physical well-being would be understood and cared for.

In what have been extremely difficult times for all of the population over the last year in relation to Covid 19, the knowledge that Mum is safe and cared for at Cherry Trees has been a great comfort and relief. All the team have ensured that as a family we are welcomed and included in Mum's care whilst
maintaining Covid safe care practices.
One of the areas Cherry Trees excels at is person-centred care, it is obvious that everyone in the home has really good knowledge about Mum and demonstrates care and compassion about all aspects of her life. The main thing is Mum is happy and Cherry Trees is her home and that is priceless.
