Really thrilled with the way the staff have helped Mum settle in. Everyone is patient and understanding and despite Mum being quite a handful in the early days, they have been nothing but positive in terms of her care. The food is obviously good - never thought I would see tight clothing after all the
weight she lost prior to her going into care. Such lovely entertainment was organised for the residents and a really positive atmosphere.
The refurbishments are great - it will be fantastic when all is finished.
Thank you so much all of you!

The staff are very friendly but I do feel like they are understaffed at times which affects their service a lot. Good choice of food, all freshly cooked and portions are good it puts my mind at ease knowing she is getting 24/7 care.

Nan was deteriorating rapidly at home. We'd looked into local care homes but nothing felt right until we found Ladyfield. From the first I saw their website, I knew this was the one. We visited and it was wonderful. It felt homely and welcoming. They cook all meals from scratch, they host regular social
events, and it's placed in a stunning location.
Unfortunately, it's so good, they were full. But persistence is key. I called every week for two months. The staff could see we had our hearts set, and when a space became available for respite, they were quick in setting things in place. After a home visit, Nan moved in a few days later, in October 2022.
I can't begin to describe how much of weight has been lifted from the family. Nan raised us all and watching her deteriorate at home was crushing. Yet, when I see her now, she's smiling again, she talks to us. She's eating better (not one water infection since she moved in) and she's happy.
We couldn't ask for more, thank you Ladyfield.

My mum started living in Ladyfield House Residential Home in September 2022.
As a family we can't praise the staff and management enough for the care she receives. Nothing is too much trouble. As a family we know how safe and cared for she is.
Thank you for everything you do for Mum.

My Mum has now been a resident at Ladyfield House Residential Home for about 18 months. As her Alzheimer's and dementia progress the carers have continued to care for her with dignity and respect in often challenging situations. I'm always updated when I visit, and any concerns I have are dealt with
promptly and efficiently. Ladyfield House is constantly aiming to improve the home for their residents. Activities are varied and plentiful, and they are currently re-decorating the communal spaces which are looking wonderful. Thank you to everyone, your efforts are much appreciated by all my family.

I was very worried about my mum moving to a care home, but the manager and staff at Ladyfield could not have been more helpful and supportive. My mum is well cared for and now doesn't want to come back home.
The staff have always been helpful and kind and Ladyfield is spotlessly clean with lovely rooms
and all areas are very well kept.
I would highly recommend Ladyfield to anyone who has a relative that needs 24/7 care.

We were very satisfied with the care mum received at the care home. She often said to us that the staff were very nice and friendly and she also said, “They do everything for me!” We felt she was comfortable and safe there, even during the Covid crisis.

Covid restrictions are still ongoing.
Not able to see much of the home so cannot comment on food and activities. My wife was in for four weeks respite and I was quite happy with the care other than the amount of falls she had. I appreciate it is difficult to watch them all the time but I think this
needs addressing.
Reply from Nadia Shepperson, Manager at Ladyfield House Residential HomeThank you for your review it is very much appreciated. Although we recognise that your wife did have falls during her stay we feel this was contributed to by her underlying illness and was one of the reasons why she was admitted to the home initially. The home did everything possible to maintain her safety whilst she was with us raising referrals and contacting other professionals to try to eliminate these whilst she was in our care.

My mum came for a 2 week respite break and it was wonderful! The room was lovely. The staff are the most caring bunch of people (my mum said they were angels!).
Knowing she was so well cared for helped us recharge while we were away.
She loved the food (has gained a bit of weight). She enjoyed the
company of both staff and the other residents. She is looking forward to her next stay.

Very caring and friendly staff. Always pleased to accommodate the requests of both the resident and family. Wonderful individual care given and excellent medical attention. Personal hygiene always taken care of. Not too large an establishment that the individual needs are neglected, this also means
residents know each other and in many cases their family members.

My husband and I regularly make the 200 mile round trip to visit mum in Ladyfield House where she has been resident for 18 months. Now that non essential travel and visits are not permitted we are completely reliant on telephone calls to check on mum, whilst not wanting to overburden staff with persistent
calls. So, how lovely, this week to receive an Activities Newsletter from Ladyfield which even had a picture of mum in it! A big thank you to the Activities team; you're amazing. Please keep up the good work.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of the team at Ladyfields Nursing Home for their outstanding care which was shown to my mum and my family over the past year. My mum resided at this care home following a bad fall at her home which resulted in her being hospitalised for
3 months and losing almost 3 stone in weight. The staff worked together to provide a well balanced diet and gradually my mum put her weight back on.
Nothing was too much trouble and each time we visited it felt as though we were visiting her at home.
My mum had dementia and although she didn't know who I was most of the time knew the staff and loved them all equally. They made sure to involve her in different activities and most of all was treated with respect.
Sadly my mum passed away on Monday 6 January very peacefully and with dignity and this is all down to the unsung heroes of this care home who have shown nothing but love care and compassion during this very difficult time.
Reply from Michelle Bracknall, Home Manager at Ladyfield House Residential HomeOn behalf of the team at Ladyfield House, I would like to thank you for your card and flowers.

My 88-year-old mother is usually very independent but required respite care at Ladyfield House after falling and breaking her wrist. Over the years I've been in several 'similar' facilities, both with her and older relatives - but I cannot begin to describe how different Ladyfield's is. From the moment
we arrived - at 11.30 at night - the standard of care here has blown me away. The time taken to make each resident happy and comfortable is incredible. The dignity with which they are treated is like nowhere else. Time is even taken to develop individual meal choices. Activities are arranged regularly, but mostly the kindness and patience of the staff is beyond compare.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.961)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.961) out of 10 for Ladyfield House Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 30 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.961 for Ladyfield House Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (346 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 357 Ratings = 4.961
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ladyfield House Residential Home is based on 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10, which has been reached with 30 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
