I wanted to commend a nurse who works a lot of day shifts. He is really friendly and chatty with my mum and quite clearly genuinely cares for her.
Thank you for your kind words. It is so wonderful to hear that my staff are friendly and approachable. Caring is at the heart of what we do at Alexander Court so once again thank you.
This residential home really does care about the people who are living here, my dad had to leave home because we could no longer provide adequate care for him, we were very sad and reluctant to have to do this, but since being here he has been so well looked after by all the staff, from the manager, the receptionist, the chef, cleaners, they all know him by name and all make him feel loved and at home.
The food is great and plentiful, it's always kept clean and have helped me and the rest of my family with any problems like appointments, booking taxis, delivery of furniture etc.
I would recommend this home to anybody who is unsure about such a large step in anyone's life, when we all become old and fragile we all need somewhere safe and loving like this.
Thank you for your kind words. Your dad is loved here by all of us and it is our absolute pleasure to care for him and his family.
Our mum was in the late stages of terminal cancer and we could no longer care for her at home.
After a search of the local care homes, we selected Alexander Court Nursing Home.
The choice was easy to make once we had met the manager and her team of nurses, carers, and support staff.
New owners, fresh policies, a gifted and truly caring manager and team, have changed Alexander Court into a wonderful home for residents and patients needing 24-7 care.
My wife and I were at the care home every single day and saw the consistency of service.
Mum was very happy, comfortable and received such warm, personal care.
The facilities were always clean and tidy, the kitchen was immaculate and the cooks produced lovely meals and even special requests to ensure that she was eating fresh and healthy meals.
Thank you to the manager, another particular member of staff, and all of the nursing and care team, for your extraordinary service.
A wonderful care home!
It was our absolute pleasure to care for your mum and a pleasure meeting both yourself and your wife. Thank you for your kind words. From myself and my staff at Alexander we send our condolences again.
Alexander Court was recommended by a friend and after an initial visit, I decided to move my auntie here.
Her care became more urgent after a severe stroke last Nov (2023) and she was cared for with dignity and comfort until she passed away recently.
I would recommend this care home, especially after the change in management.
Thank you for your kind words. It was our absolute pleasure to care for your auntie and I know she was highly thought of at Alexander and will be missed by the staff who cared for her.
The staff of Alexandra Court Nursing Home gave a superb standard of care to my husband in his final days. They were approachable, friendly and willingly did everything that was needed. I could not imagine there being better care anywhere else.
Thank you for your kind words. It was our absolute pleasure to care for your husband in his final days and we are happy that we were able to make your time with your husband as comfortable as possible. Myself and everyone from the Alexander Court team, again, send our condolences.
An excellent overall standard, including all the categories below. There couldn't be a better description than the one you use to describe your organisation's ethos - "the kind care company".
Since Mum has been at Alexander Court her cognitive behaviour has improved due to the friendliness of staff, residents and the activities team. I feel happy in the knowledge that Mum is safe, well cared for and in a clean happy environment.
The staff are very caring and always willing to help. The facilities and activities are arranged with the residents in mind. The overall feeling of this nursing home is that nothing is too much trouble.
My mother is fortunate enough to have two lovely carers who are compassionate and genuine. Mum also loves her food. However, there are issues we've had to report relating to the provision of basic care, training and monitoring of staff. Mum has been left in her wee all day, hair unkept with dirty bedclothes and nightdress. When we buzzed for a commode, Mum was agitated, it took over 30 minutes and then we were told a commode wasn't available. Spectacles, TV remote and buzzer are left out of reach, we even found her pill on the floor. She also went hungry one day apparently she couldn't choose between two options. Staff can be abrupt when asked questions. Nil feedback from doctor visits. Weekends are worse than weekdays.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. Thank you also for your kind comments on the carers who support your Mother. We are very sorry however to hear that you have experienced concerns around some areas of our service provision and...
I have been a resident at Alexander Court for three years and have always been well looked after by the friendly staff. I very much appreciate the private facilities in my room but these are a little well-worn.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We really appreciate your lovely comment on our staff team. We are sorry your facilities are looking a little worn and as per our conversation with you, we are actively recruiting a new...
Cleanliness is very poor in rooms.
Meals are not really suitable for the elderly.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. Ensuring we employ the best candidates to support our homes is a priority for us and we are undergoing a full recruitment drive for the home. Until this is concluded we will use agency staff to...
My mum is a Resident at Alexander Court and is 101 years old, soon to be 102. At the end of January, she contracted a severe chest infection and was very poorly. Unfortunately, I was on holiday abroad and could only contact by telephone, my degree of concern was such that I was preparing to fly home early. The care and compassion provided by the carers to mum at this time was excellent. Throughout the four days that mum was very poorly I and other family members were in daily contact with the Carers and despite their busy schedule they always found time to talk and update us and confirm mum’s latest condition. Considering this was a very stressful time for me personally and the rest of our family their reassurances made the situation from a considerable distance away more bearable. I am very happy to say Mum has recovered now and continues to be cared for with dignity and respect by the home.
This home is very clean and quiet and very comfortable. Excellent care and loving.
Our dear mum was in Alexander Court for only three weeks until she passed away. We would like to thank everyone there for looking after her with kindness. We found everyone there to be helpful. Mum was treated with dignity. Thank you.
My brother and I have been very happy with all aspects of our mother's care while she is a resident at this care home. She is of a great age, and because of this, has the most complex care/medical needs! These needs have been well met by all the staff at the home. Our mother has been treated with dignity, and her room is always fresh and clean. I have always found the staff friendly and helpful at all times.
My mother was cared for during a period of two years at Alexander Court. She was very ill but due to the constant care and attention my mother lived for two more years than expected. Thank you for their expertise and friendliness whilst I was not there with her. The nursing care was excellent, especially through the pandemic.
Excellent care. The staff are friendly and caring to my mum. Her mental health has improved since she came into the home.
My sister has been a resident of Alexandra Court for the past 14 months and has settled well in the home. She has a very good relationship with her carers and has been encouraged to join in activities, when possible, organised by the staff. Special attention is given to her individual needs and preferences and every effort is made to ensure her well being.
My father went into Alexander Court, Sheffield, in September 2015 after a fall that affected his mobility. He was made very welcome by the management, and especially the care staff and has remained very happy there throughout. During the pandemic and lockdown, the staff have been particularly remarkable about his level of care and overall wellness. I was able to have a well-organised garden visit for his 100th birthday in August 2020, and have now started a weekly visit inside the home in addition to the zoom calls which have been an added bonus. It is lovely to see my Dad so happy in his surroundings, even at 100 years old. The staff are all lovely and keep me well informed about his health and wellness situation, and always ask if there is anything else that I want to be done for him. The standard of cleanliness in the home is also worth a very positive mention, in addition to the wide-ranging activities and theme events carried out.
I find Alexander Court a very good care home for my father. He got to the age of 100 in August 2020 and they couldn't do enough for him. The staff take a big interest and are thoughtful and caring, and me and my sister are quite satisfied with him being in there.

Meet the Team (1)

I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2013 and spent my first years working within the NHS on both medical admissions and critical care. It is here that I gained my clinical experience and developed the skills and knowledge required to provide excellent resident care. I then moved into Care Homes and have worked for numerous years at both the Deputy and Manager level. I have completed my Level 5 Qualification IAO Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care for Adults and my passion is to ensure that our residents live a life where they are valued, loved and cared for as one of our own. I want our home to feel like their home and I want their family and friends to feel welcome into our home-from-home environment.
I have an open-door policy so please feel free to come and meet me when I am in Monday to Friday.
Thank you and I look forward to meeting you all soonRachael
