Staff are good, but a high turnover of recruitment.
Cleanliness is very poor in rooms.
Meals are not really suitable for the elderly.

Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. Ensuring we employ the best candidates to support our homes is a priority for us and we are undergoing a full recruitment drive for the home. Until this is concluded we will use agency staff to support where necessary by block bookings of care staff and nurses who have been with us for three or more months to ensure continuity of care. Bedrooms are deep cleaned monthly, and all rooms are checked and cleaned daily with spot checks taking place throughout the day by senior staff and the Home Manager. Our leading nutritional management system, along with our hospitality specialists support us to provide healthy, well-balanced meals for those in our care. We understand that nutrition is vital to the health of our residents and so we are committed to offering them meals that are not only delicious but also nutritious. We believe the dining experience is an important part of the day for residents and we aim to ensure this is always a positive time where our residents can enjoy wholesome meals from our menu. If they would like something else, this too can be arranged.

My mum is a Resident at Alexander Court and is 101 years old, soon to be 102. At the end of January, she contracted a severe chest infection and was very poorly. Unfortunately, I was on holiday abroad and could only contact by telephone, my degree of concern was such that I was preparing to fly home
early. The care and compassion provided by the carers to mum at this time was excellent. Throughout the four days that mum was very poorly I and other family members were in daily contact with the Carers and despite their busy schedule they always found time to talk and update us and confirm mum’s latest condition. Considering this was a very stressful time for me personally and the rest of our family their reassurances made the situation from a considerable distance away more bearable. I am very happy to say Mum has recovered now and continues to be cared for with dignity and respect by the home.

My brother and I have been very happy with all aspects of our mother's care while she is a resident at this care home. She is of a great age, and because of this, has the most complex care/medical needs! These needs have been well met by all the staff at the home. Our mother has been treated with dignity,
and her room is always fresh and clean. I have always found the staff friendly and helpful at all times.

My mother was cared for during a period of two years at Alexander Court. She was very ill but due to the constant care and attention my mother lived for two more years than expected. My sister has been a resident of Alexandra Court for the past 14 months and has settled well in the home. She has a very good relationship with her carers and has been encouraged to join in activities, when possible, organised by the staff. My father went into Alexander Court, Sheffield, in September 2015 after a fall that affected his mobility. He was made very welcome by the management, and especially the care staff and has remained very happy there throughout. During the pandemic and lockdown, the staff have been particularly remarkable
about his level of care and overall wellness. I was able to have a well-organised garden visit for his 100th birthday in August 2020, and have now started a weekly visit inside the home in addition to the zoom calls which have been an added bonus. It is lovely to see my Dad so happy in his surroundings, even at 100 years old. The staff are all lovely and keep me well informed about his health and wellness situation, and always ask if there is anything else that I want to be done for him. The standard of cleanliness in the home is also worth a very positive mention, in addition to the wide-ranging activities and theme events carried out.

I find Alexander Court a very good care home for my father. He got to the age of 100 in August 2020 and they couldn't do enough for him. The staff take a big interest and are thoughtful and caring, and me and my sister are quite satisfied with him being in there.

My mother came here in April 2019 from hospital as palliative care having been given, at best, a few weeks to live. She lived for more than a year and a half, and one of the main reasons for this was definitely the good quality care provided. The staff were genuinely kind and caring. My mother came
to regard it as her home and was happy there until she finally died in November last year. I was responsible for looking after my mother and it was a great relief for me not to have to worry about the care she was receiving.

My mother was transferred here on discharge from hospital for end of life care, however long or short that may be. We were pleased to have Alexander Court as one of our options and feel that we made the right choice. Mum is really well looked after, given the care and support she needs in her twilight
weeks. The staff are extremely professional and caring and in these difficult times of Coronavirus, still find time to support the family too. Mum always looks lovely when we go to see her and the staff are very attentive.

We can honestly say that the standard of care and understanding at this home is second to none. The staff and management looked after my father exceptionally well in difficult circumstances up until his passing, always keeping us informed and making us feel very welcome on visiting.
The level of communication
from management and the very caring staff on all levels are a credit to the company. This home is highly recommended to anyone who has the difficult decision to make with a relative; this is a home from home. Having just seen the CQC rating, I would ignore that to be honest.

My husband was end of life. The staff ensured that he was never uncomfortable and was never distressed. All medication was given on time and efficiently. His care was excellent, he was always shaved and clean and didn't smell. His mouth and eyes were always moist. I couldn't wish for anything more for
him at the end of his life. I was also well supported and given frequent coffees.

The standard of care at Alexander Court is excellent. The staff are well trained, supported and administer a very high level of care. I visit my mother every day and regularly observe both the day and night staff.
The home is also very clean and the food is very good. I am delighted that my mother
is so well looked after.

Job Title: Registered Manager and Nurse Joined: 2024

I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2013 and spent my first years working within the NHS on both medical admissions and critical care. It is here that I gained my clinical experience and developed the skills and knowledge required to provide excellent resident care. I then moved into Care Homes and have worked for numerous years at both the Deputy and Manager level. I have completed my Level 5 Qualification IAO Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care for Adults and my passion is to ensure that our residents live a life where they are valued, loved and cared for as one of our own. I want our home to feel like their home and I want their family and friends to feel welcome into our home-from-home environment.


I have an open-door policy so please feel free to come and meet me when I am in Monday to Friday.
