My mum moved into Alexander Court a week before the first Covid lockdown, she has received excellent care and whilst I have not been allowed to visit they have helped to make mum's life as comfortable as is possible.
My mother came here in April 2019 from hospital as palliative care having been given, at best, a few weeks to live. She lived for more than a year and a half, and one of the main reasons for this was definitely the good quality care provided. The staff were genuinely kind and caring. My mother came to regard it as her home and was happy there until she finally died in November last year. I was responsible for looking after my mother and it was a great relief for me not to have to worry about the care she was receiving.
My mother was transferred here on discharge from hospital for end of life care, however long or short that may be. We were pleased to have Alexander Court as one of our options and feel that we made the right choice. Mum is really well looked after, given the care and support she needs in her twilight weeks. The staff are extremely professional and caring and in these difficult times of Coronavirus, still find time to support the family too. Mum always looks lovely when we go to see her and the staff are very attentive.
The level of communication from management and the very caring staff on all levels are a credit to the company. This home is highly recommended to anyone who has the difficult decision to make with a relative; this is a home from home. Having just seen the CQC rating, I would ignore that to be honest.
My husband was end of life. The staff ensured that he was never uncomfortable and was never distressed. All medication was given on time and efficiently. His care was excellent, he was always shaved and clean and didn't smell. His mouth and eyes were always moist. I couldn't wish for anything more for him at the end of his life. I was also well supported and given frequent coffees.
Everyone is friendly and helpful. I feel happy with the care given to my sister. Staff look after her so I am able to get on with my own life.
The home is also very clean and the food is very good. I am delighted that my mother is so well looked after.
My Mum is a recent resident and she is treated with respect, care and love. I know she is in brilliant hands when I leave her. They give me peace of mind. The staff also make me and my family welcome and make it feel like one big happy family.
Food very good, good choice, clean all the time. No complaints.
It was first class.
The staff are very helpful and friendly.
I would recommend this care home to anyone who's relative needs care.
The staff are fantastic and friendly.
My aunt's room is always clean and tidy. The food is lovely.
Most of all, it is clear that my aunt is well looked after and loved.
His health has improved, as has his state of mind. He enjoys being here and is looked after so well. I have had no negative thoughts about his welfare whilst being here.
I feel my sister is in good hands.
From the moment she arrived (from 2 months in hospital), she was cared for and looked after extremely well.
She settled in straight away, getting to know the friendly and caring staff from day 1.
I cannot thank them enough for how they cared for and made her stay enjoyable and comfortable.
She was very happy there and dealt with in a dignified way when she passed away.
Once again thank you from all her family and friends.
The staff are always helpful and friendly.
Over the last few weeks, staffing levels improved and staff morale. Let's hope it continues. Food needs improving - ie better quality not quantity.
Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. Thank you for acknowledging that our staffing levels and staff morale in the Home has improved. The Home is currently working with our Hospitality Team to support our new Chef and Agency Chef to...
My mother has been a resident for around 8 month's having moved from another home. The staff are brilliant with her and always ensure she is well looked after. We have been very lucky to get her a place at Alexander Court.
Very caring and understanding staff. Made you feel welcome. Nothing too much trouble.
I am confident that my husband will receive good respite care at Alexander Court Care Home. The carers are professional and friendly, the home is clean and well decorated with homely touches and visitors are made welcome. I know that some of the staff have worked at Alexander Court for a number of years which I think is a good recommendation.

Meet the Team (1)

I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 2013 and spent my first years working within the NHS on both medical admissions and critical care. It is here that I gained my clinical experience and developed the skills and knowledge required to provide excellent resident care. I then moved into Care Homes and have worked for numerous years at both the Deputy and Manager level. I have completed my Level 5 Qualification IAO Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care for Adults and my passion is to ensure that our residents live a life where they are valued, loved and cared for as one of our own. I want our home to feel like their home and I want their family and friends to feel welcome into our home-from-home environment.
I have an open-door policy so please feel free to come and meet me when I am in Monday to Friday.
Thank you and I look forward to meeting you all soonRachael
