My mother in law became a resident in May 2025. My initial experience was of a well run home with fabulous caring staff. The home has recently changed owners and to their credit majority of the excellent carers have been retained. There has been a few teething issues on the admin side which has affected communication to families. These are gradually being sorted which is good and this can only get better. The new owners are also very keen on well trained staff which is vital when dealing residents with complex needs. I feel that my mother in law is receiving good care and would recommend Ascot Lodge to those considering placing a relative into care.
Thank you for your thoughtful and balanced feedback. We are pleased to hear that your mother-in-law continues to receive good care at Ascot Lodge and that you value our dedicated team. We appreciate your comments about communication and are committed to making ongoing improvements.

My mum is at Ascot Lodge and has been for over 2 year's it was really hard for me to put my mum into care but I knew it was for the best. When me and my niece went to visit Ascot unannounced while my mum was still in hospital the staff were so friendly and welcoming they let us have a look around it was so clean that was the first thing I noticed. My mum is settled there I think everyone likes her even though she has her moments but don't we all. The staff are very friendly and they do there best if you have a problem you only need to speak with them and it's sorted. The new manager is lovely (Emma) the care staff, the domestic staff and the activity member Laura is lovely. It's just one big family and I'm happy to be a part of it with my mum.
Thank you for your kind words. Six months in, it's great to hear your father-in-law is settling well and getting more involved as his mobility improves, a real credit to the staff and physios supporting him. We'll pass your thanks on to everyone at Daneside Court.

The recently appointed manager of Ascot Lodge, I find personally odious.
Catherine is now on a path towards death. I want to visit her on weekends, as well as weekdays. The sparkling new manageress stated to me: "I won't change the visiting agreement you signed last summer."
That agreement was signed under conditions I consider blackmail.

She was suffering with the final stages of Dementia / Alzheimer's and we knew that Ascot Lodge specialised in this type of care. All the dealings we had with HC-One (parent company) and the home itself were excellent and very professional.
Although my mothers time at the home was short (Sept 25 - end Jan 26) we never had any problems and all the staff were professional and, most importantly, caring and considerate to my mother at all times. We visited my mother regularly and also found that the staff were welcoming to us and nothing was too much trouble for them.I would certainly recommend this home to others thinking of putting their love ones into care. You can be certain that the staff at Ascot Lodge will always do everything they can for their residents.
Home from home, all staff are very attentive and alert to all residents' needs. Activity very good, days out, singing, fun and games for all. Whenever I visit Ascot Lodge Care Home I always find the staff efficient and very helpful. The residents needs seen to as soon as possible. The cleanliness is very good. One thing that I noticed when visiting I don't get any smells of urine.

Good overall care. My mum is happy and settled here. The staff are all polite and happy in their roles and want to do their best. Some staff go the extra mile, talking to Mum more and joking. The deputy manager is always approachable to talk when needed. Good communication, phone calls when...

Mum has improved massively in the 6 months since she'd been at Ascot Lodge - she will allow carers to dress her, sit in the lounge, eat in the dining room and will now conduct a conversation. Such a great improvement!

I, too, have also been given love and friendship from all the staff. I really appreciated it. Thank you. My husband received "end-of-life care" for Alzheimer's during April and May, 2024. I feel so grateful for everything that has been given to him at the end of his life - sadly, he passed on 10th May, 2024 at 6:15pm.
The care home seems well-maintained and his room is clean and pleasantly decorated.

I have joined in the activities with my friend which she seems to enjoy, especially the coffee mornings with scones, jam and cream.

All day staff go above and beyond every time with all residents and management will go beyond. I feel very secure knowing my mum is totally taken care of and respect is shown to Mum by all care staff I've encountered.

He was given a bird feeder to put on his window which he really enjoys being interested in wildlife since an early age, he also has plant pots outside his window and a wild garden, I think that allowing him to follow his likes has gone a long way towards bringing him on and giving him something to do and I personally think that this is down to the staff and manager
