Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We are so pleased you feel your Mother is well cared for in all aspects of her care. Our staff work hard to provide kind, quality care for all our residents. Thank you also for your wonderful positive comments on our service in general here at Ascot Lodge. In relation to your concerns around the environment, hallways in dementia care communities are distinguished by low-arousal colour schemes to aid resident orientation. In dementia care communities ‘natural cues’, such as furnishings, decoration, colour schemes, and even smells are better solutions to disorientation because ‘natural cues’ are less likely to be misunderstood and importantly encourage us to design environments that are meaningful, so for example, a lounge looks like somewhere you would sit, rest and relax and a dining room looks like somewhere you would eat. We would be more than happy to discuss your concerns about the environment. If you feel this would be beneficial, please do contact the Home Manager who would be happy to support you with any questions you might have.
