Generally fine though my mother gets very bored. Think some activity would be nice though appreciate with costs this must be difficult.

Sadly my aunt passed away in October after five years residency. During the whole of that time she was treated with the utmost kindness, compassion and dignity. The staff were wonderful, not only to her but members of the family and visitors. We were always kept well informed with regards to her medical requirements and the progression of her dementia. They always took great care with her appearance which is exactly what she would have wanted. It was a great comfort to the family to know she was so well cared for.

Dad has been here for a year. He is well cared for, clean, warm and exceedingly well catered for. The food is great! He is very prone to UTI's but these are recognised early by the staff who alert the GP immediately. Whilst the staff will tease him in a lighthearted way and have a laugh with him, he is treated with dignity and respect. I now sleep at night knowing he is safe in Ascot Lodges hands.

My mother suffers from dementia and has been a resident at Ascot Lodge for 4 years. Mum is cared for extremely well by all the staff. She always looks well looked after and is safe and secure in a friendly environment.

Staff make myself and my dad feel very welcome, every time that we visit. We have sometimes been invited to stay for lunch. The standard of food is very good. Dad (who is 87 and practically house bound) is regularly invited to enjoy some of the entertainment that is put on at the home and Martin even fetches him in the home mini bus and takes him back home after, which is much appreciated by myself but especially by my dad.

We are kept well informed about any issues relating to mum.

The Home Manager is friendly and efficient and we would highly recommend Ascot Lodge to anyone who needs this kind of care for a member of their family.

We discussed the general care and well being of my father. I said that I was satisfied with all aspects regarding his care. The reviewer was very understanding in listening to any of my questions. Her answers were very informative.

Searching for a home for someone you love is a very difficult period in most peoples lives, and finding one which provides the level of care and an environment you can be happy with can prove extremely hard. Fortunately, for both my wife and myself, I eventually found Ascot Lodge, and the care she has received over the last few months has been first class. It is also the case that staff members appreciate and understand what it means to those close to the residents, so, on a personal level, this has helped me considerably to adjust to what is such a major change in our lives.

It's been a lovely experience to take my wife to Ascot Lodge and for her to stop there for the last month, the staff are good to deal with and look after her twenty four seven with meals, drinks, tablets and clothes, anything that is asked of them. All my sons and I like the place it's clean and tidy.

My father-in-law came to Ascot Lodge in October 2015, and we have found that the is much happier here than at his previous care home. Ascot Lodge is exceptionally clean and the staff are well trained and caring. The food is excellent as are the rooms. The manageress is hands on and often chats to relatives. It is a fabulous place and we are happy and reassured that he is well taken care of and happy.

Our mother was cared for at Ascot Lodge Nursing Home in Sheffield for over five years. We looked at many EMI nursing homes during our initial search but chose this home based on a gut feeling about the caring nature of their staff. Back in August 2010 Ascot Lodge was not perhaps the best decorated home in the sector, nor for us personally was it the closest to our homes, but when we visited Ascot Lodge (unannounced) looking at interaction between the carers/nurses and the residents, and noting the general atmosphere, we gained the impression that the staff were very caring and that many had an intuitive and sympathetic understanding of the very debilitating nature of the various forms of dementia. This gut feeling which was the deciding factor in our choice was subsequently proven to be correct. Mum was always very well cared for, she was always clean, well fed and always in her own clothes. She was treated with dignity. We witnessed many individual acts of kindness towards mum by the staff and this made a real difference to her. At Ascot Lodge mum had a quality of life which can be difficult with her illness. As visitors, staff at Ascot Lodge always made us feel very welcome whatever time of the day we visited. We were made to feel part of a family. For those travelling from further afield Ascot Lodge is very well situated for public transport (there is a frequent tram service which links to the train station) and the main arterial roads which connect to the M1.

My mother was resident at Ascot Lodge in Sheffield. The staff were really helpful and kind and caring towards my mum and they made her final days as comfortable and pleasant as possible. I am only sorry that my mum was not around for a longer time.

The management team were very supportive in arranging a place at the home on our behalf. The nursing and care team show great empathy and take time to spend with my father and my family at all times. The home manager has been very supportive in guiding the family through these first stages of my fathers illness. The nursing team have kept us well informed and the care team at Ascot Lodge are a credit to their chosen profession.

First visit to find a suitable nursing home (urgent need -fast track situation in place) was on New Years day afternoon Jan 1st. Even so we were given a detailed explanatory guide around the building and the nursing care system- very much appreciated. Transfer to Ascot Lodge was on 7th Jan and after 5+ weeks of a bedridden situation, within less than a week mum is sitting in a reclining chair and eating proper full meals (unlike the smoothies/porridge of previous month) all down to improved care/support in understanding a 101 year old dementia sufferers needs. Thank you to all at Ascot Lodge.
