I find Ascot Lodge very good and a nice place to visit. The management and staff are good with patients and very friendly. The home is clean and pleasant to visit.

Every time I visit, the staff are always lovely and you can see they care about the residents. They do activities and have trips out and my friend is happy here and is very happy here and is always saying how good they are which is good to hear.

My wife has been in the care home for nearly 7 years. During this time I have visited every day (except when ill or having a holiday) so have a good insight into the work carried out. Recent work, converting 4 units into 2 has taken place. This would appear a staff cutting exercise despite assurance from management that this was not the case. It now transpires that staff have been cut to the disappointment of many, including staff members, some of who have now left and others who have confided in me that they are seeking other employ.
Since my brother has been here he has been looked after very well. The staff try to help in any way they can. The only problem is there is not enough staff at times to deal with all that is going on. But they try their best.

Staffing levels are based according to the dependency needs of our Residents and are monitored regularly. Dad is treated with respect and kindness and friendliness by all and he has settled in and is as happy as can be expected. No urine smells in home - very clean - comfortable surroundings.

My mum was not just "looked after" but "cared for" at Ascot Lodge. The staff were always there to talk to us if we had a question and had never-ending patience with my mum through all the swings and turns of her awful dementia.

I am very pleased with the care my husband has received whilst he has been staying in Ascot Lodge. He has problems because of diabetes and the nursing care has been very good. The care staff also are brilliant with him. The most important thing is he is happy.

In general, the care home is very good. The manager is very efficient. Occasionally, agency staff need to be used which is a drain on finances. The care staff are very good but one or two care staff do not pull their weight.

Frequent staff changes mean we can no longer get on terms with staff. My cousin is blind and is not treated with the respect she deserves.
