Holmwood care home, located on the outskirts of Sheffield, in an attractive residential area of Norton Lees, provides personalised dementia care to older people.

Many residents at Holmwood enjoy the range of places to explore, including a pub, tea room, sensory room, café, hair salon, library service and nail bar, as well as the specially designed dining areas that provide the perfect space to share meals with fellow residents, or family and friends.

On those sunny summer days, the peaceful enclosed garden is the ideal spot for some alfresco dining and the catering team work hard to offer a varied and nutritious menu, ensuring each meal is an enjoyable experience.

The team at Holmwood take the time to learn about each resident’s individual hobbies and interests so that they are able to encourage participation in things they enjoy across the home, whether it be the planned activities or enjoying a quiet drink.

Connection with the local community in Norton Lees is also promoted, from building relationships with the neighbours in local community groups and schools to arranging sightseeing trips in the local area.

My wife has been at Holmwood Care Home for eighteen months. I come every day for an hour and a half visit, I always feel welcome.
I feel better knowing she's looked after and safe.

In the short time, our dad was in the care of Holmwood, we could not have asked for more. Every member of the team went above and beyond to care for our dad. He had the the very best people looking after him 24/7. Nothing was too much trouble, there was an activity program most days. Dad always enjoyed
meal times, the variety of food on offer changed daily. We were informed of any changes, no matter how small. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for either respite or permanent care for a family member.

I cannot recommend this home highly enough. I was dreading putting my dad in one, then I found Holmwood. They are amazing; all the staff and management truly are angels. My dad is so well cared for and happy, which in turn, makes us feel so much better. They go above and beyond in many things, always

I would definitely recommend this care provider to other people. My Mum has been well looked after by the wonderful staff. We are notified about any changes or ongoing procedures with Mum and kept up to date with her progress. Couldn't have managed without them.

Always find all staff helpful, pleasant. Care given to my husband the best. This home was recommended by a nurse who came to our home for my husband's bloods. Said she had been in homes but found Holmwood and staff excellent.

Due to the covid circumstances, the visit had to be limited but it was extremely well organised and monitored. All necessary precautions were taken and the location was well isolated from the rest of the building. Cheerful staff as usual. Thank you.

Holmwood staff are always pleasant, helpful and positive. I feel content that my mum is looked after properly and carefully. Although this last year has been awful for everyone I have been reassured that life is as good as it can be at Holmwood. I have not seen my mum for a year but have been able to
speak on the phone. Staff at Holmwood always report anything concerning mum so we can sort any problems.

“I believe that kind care is doing what it takes to make a Resident smile every day.”


Having started her career as a care home cook, Vicki has gained nearly 20 years’ experience in providing care and support to older people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Vicki joined Holmwood as she closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Holmwood.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Vicki remarked:
“I find it very satisfying when I see our care making a difference to our Residents’ wellbeing.”


Away from work, Vicki enjoys spending her spare time with her friends and her young family.
