Holmwood care home, located on the outskirts of Sheffield, in an attractive residential area of Norton Lees, provides personalised dementia care to older people.

Many residents at Holmwood enjoy the range of places to explore, including a pub, tea room, sensory room, café, hair salon, library service and nail bar, as well as the specially designed dining areas that provide the perfect space to share meals with fellow residents, or family and friends.

On those sunny summer days, the peaceful enclosed garden is the ideal spot for some alfresco dining and the catering team work hard to offer a varied and nutritious menu, ensuring each meal is an enjoyable experience.

The team at Holmwood take the time to learn about each resident’s individual hobbies and interests so that they are able to encourage participation in things they enjoy across the home, whether it be the planned activities or enjoying a quiet drink.

Mum's been in Holmwood for 10 months, and has settled in really well. Staff are really friendly to mum and to the family, and mums more confident in asking for help. She has made some good friends whilst she's been here. Staff members are really approachable and helpful to son and daughter.

My family and I love mum being in Holmwood. The staff care like they are looking after their own family. Mum is always clean and well fed. Staff go over and above. Always listen to the needs of the family as well as the cared for/residents.

Lovely home, really happy that our dad is here. Friendly staff, really pleasant atmosphere, comfortable even for me to visit. Clean. Staff are very professional and caring, never too much trouble, oblige in everything you need or want.

The needs and requirements of my parents are very well catered for. Staff are friendly, and helpful and listen to any concerns or worries that we have. Mum transferred to Holmwood following a 4 month stay in hospital. Having no experience of what a care home was like, I have been overwhelmed with the excellent care mum receives here. The staff, management, nurses, carers, domestics, cooks, are all so friendly, caring and supportive. Mum has settled
in so well and it is such a wonderful caring environment. I can rest well, safe in knowledge mum is receiving the best care possible, and so rightly deserves.

My mum moved in nearly 2 years ago. The experience has been only positive. My mum is very vulnerable, immobile, incontinent, very little vocalisation or understanding of what is going on. Despite all of this is treated with respect and dignity. She is warm, fed appropriately to her needs and always
appears comfortable and pain free. Staff are to a person-welcoming, happy to answer questions and involve me appropriately in aspects of care when needed. I would certainly recommend this home to anyone considering it for their relative.

Since my mum has been at Holmwood, her infections have gone, her mobility increased, she's been able to get out and start to love life again. She has started walking again and her overall mood has improved and she's started to laugh again.

I visited a friend from church. Each time I have found the staff very welcoming.
The resident is happy and contented, the room is clean and there is a lovely atmosphere in the building.
Her special diet requirements are dealt with and choices are given. I would certainly suggest this home to others.

We cannot praise this care home enough. Mum has been here 17 months with dementia, the care all the staff gives is lovely. Recently she celebrated her birthday, the staff decorated her room which made it extra special, leaving her knowing she's been looked after makes us less worried such a warm friendly

Holmwood Care Home is in my opinion a fantastic care home. The staff are all really caring and the rooms are all nice and clean. I can recommend this home to anyone. All the staff are led by a fantastic manager, she is well organised and easy to deal with. The head nurse is very helpful too. My wife
seems happy at the home too. I appreciate all you are doing for her and am very grateful for all you do.

Holmwood Care Home have been an amazing care home for my mother who recently died. They have been so kind to her and me. Her physical needs were always met to a high standard, the food was of good quality and there were many activities which she always enjoyed and which made her final year as enjoyable
as it could be. When she was dying they gave fantastic care and support to my mother and to me.

I would like to thank all of the staff, every one of them that work here for the kindness and care my mother has had and that they showed to all my family who were visiting. We couldn't have asked to have a better place for my mum to have ended her life.

Having started her career as a care home cook, Vicki has gained nearly 20 years’ experience in providing care and support to older people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Vicki joined Holmwood as she closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Holmwood.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Vicki remarked:
“I find it very satisfying when I see our care making a difference to our Residents’ wellbeing.”


Away from work, Vicki enjoys spending her spare time with her friends and her young family.
