Holmwood staff take looking after Mum seriously. They take good care of her and ensure she is as safe and comfortable as possible. The staff are always kind and friendly and we call in without any notice and are always welcome.

My husband has only been a resident for three weeks but has already settled in mainly because of the very warm welcome he received and the excellent care he has.

We were aware of the positive reports relating to Holmwood and impressed when we visited the premises. However, we were not hopeful of getting my mother into Holmwood given the waiting list at the time. We felt very fortunate when we received a call to say there was a place. The premises are decorated to a high standard. I like the security and reception arrangements. I find the staff friendly and caring and most importantly, I am confident that my mother is very well cared for and happy. The home is very pro-active in terms of activities and engagement and I have seen this first hand.

Overall Experience

My mother became a resident in February 2015 until her death 31st October 2015. Although she was quite difficult when first admitted she was cared for with kindness and compassion and I was told of her condition every step of the way by all the staff. As her condition deteriorated her needs changed and became a smooth transition which helped me enormously. On the day of her death all the staff were very kind to all her family who came to visit.

My husband has been in another home but we had to move him to this home which we had no choice. We are very pleased with this home we should have put him in here in the first place. Thank You.

My wife was placed in the care of Holwood on the 7th November 2015. Every member of management and staff provide a professional and caring environment for every resident what ever their personal needs and caring needs. The care provided from my personal experience over the past 12 months is excellent and in my view has been fully reviewed and cannot be faulted in any section from cleanliness, cooking (excellent choice and variety) to personal care. The manageress is fully approachable, professional and fully aware of every aspect of the care being provided. In my opinion any person with a partner or relative requiring nursing care should look no further for lasting care.
