My mother has been a resident in this nursing home since last May. Myself and the rest of our family have found the staff to be very caring and understanding of our mothers needs. She is always happy when we visit. The staff are always understanding, helpful and polite. We could not wish for a better environment for our relative to be cared for.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I shall pass your lovely praise onto the staff as I know they will appreciate it and will always endeavour to maintain the best support to both your mother and family.
My mum has been at Northfield for several years and we are happy with her care. The staff are very friendly and always willing to help out. The food is good (although can be a little uninspiring at teatime). My mum's room is warm and clean, although rather small for multiple visitors. This is only a problem on occasions when mum has to stay in bed - normally we are able to visit her in the lounge or dining room (or the conservatory/garden when the weather is good). My mum enjoys the entertainment that is provided regularly and takes part in some of the craft activities. At this difficult stage in her life, Northfield fully meets her requirements.
Thank you so much for your review we are delighted to hear that your mum has such a good experience here at Northfield, I shall pass on your kind words to the staff at Northfield whom I'm sure will endeavour to maintain helpfulness and friendliness.
My Father spent 6 months at Northfield mostly bedbound. I found the staff on the main reception and the desk upstairs to be corteous and helpful when asked. There were times when I had to wait in the corridor whilest they changed soiled clothes and sheets. Most of the time the room was warm and clean, but there were times when there was food on the floor (which felt sticky). The meals themselves were adequate but they were eaten in a constant aroma of urine and faeces. I found the smell overpowering. On several occasions the batteries were missing / changed from the tv remote and clock. I had to provide new batteries as none could be found. My father was left in bed watching the same tv channel for days. Overall my Father's stay was okay, but it could have been much better with a few minor adjustments.
Thank you for your review and the points highlighted. I can confirm that all flooring is currently being replaced within the home and we have recently had all the windows replaced as well. We do try to maintain a sense of dignity for our residents when it comes to changing so we do ask that people...
Staff friendly & very caring, always make you feel welcome no matter what time visiting. Always keep in touch with treatment as been given (innoculations & extra medication when needed).
Thank you for your kind words regarding the staff it really is appreciated, I shall pass on your comments to the team at Northfield.
Woefully understaffed. Agency staff have no idea what they're doing. Rooms/building very old and tired - but clean. Residents left for several hours without attention - call button unanswered. Medication and meal times not adhered to. Overall - awful experience. Would not recommend.
I'm sorry to hear that you feel we are 'woefully' understaffed but I can assure you we have more than adequate staff to tend general nursing needs. There are times where individuals would like more attention than what would be deemed reasonable but we do endeavour to facilitate extra time to...
The building needs a refurbishment, wooden windows need re varnishing, the carpets need replacing with water proof flooring. The home always smells of urine, short staffed meaning they don't have time to care for people. This is the second floor.
Thank you for your review, I can confirm that the windows and floors are currently under review with a view to being replaced. We as a home endeavour to make sure that it is clean and that all due care and attention is given to the residents at all time, with this in mind we are very mindful of...
The staff were amazing, nothing seemed too much trouble and my Dad was looked after during his short stay.
The staff acted professionally tending to my Dad after he passed and helped me and my daughter tremendously. Thank you and can recommend for sure.
Condolences to you all on losing your father. Thank you for your kind words regarding the staff it really is appreciated. We will pass on your comments to the team at Northfield.
Thank you all
Thank you for your kind and honest review, to hear your uncle had the care and support he needed right to the end is something we are proud of and your acknowledgment is testament to this . Your thanks will be passed onto all the staff of which will be greatly appreciated, many condolences for your loss and wish you all the best going forward.
Northfield is a Dreadful place. A dumping ground is the best way to describe the place. My friend was discharged from the Hospital for assessment here, definitely avoid as I can't recommend at all.
We are saddened to see this review especially after the interactions you had with the staff of which any and all complaints were handled immediately and processes followed to make sure that these would not arise further. Whilst your friend was admitted to our care from the hospital all due care and...
On admission, every member of staff introduced themselves and nothing was too much trouble.
Within that short time, my mother was treated with dignity and respect. On her last day we were also treated accordingly and what we needed to do next was carefully explained.
Thank you for your feedback. I am pleased that your mother was looked after well.
I am sure that she had a longer and happier life than she would have in her own home.
Thank you for your feedback I am pleased your aunt received good care.
My mother wasn't very long at Northlands, she sadly died in September, she was 96 years old, her needs were very demanding but Mum always received good care especially her end-of-life care, I can't thank one staff member in particular enough for the dedicated care she gave to Mum towards the end and the emotional support she gave to me. The communication was excellent from Northlands care staff who always kept me up to date about her condition or any incidents. I shall miss visiting Northlands, I was always received warmly despite their busy schedules.
Many thanks for your warm words. It means a lot getting this feedback and the recognition you gave for the good care your late Mum received. I will pass your kind comments to the staff at the home.
Had no complaints at all at the care my late father received. All the staff were efficient and friendly. My family and I would like to thank everyone at Northfield for their excellent care.
Thank you so much for your kind review, we constantly try to make visitors and residents feel welcome and your review clearly acknowledges this. We shall endeavour to maintain a high standard of care for all present and future residents here at Northfield and send our well wishes to you and your family at this time. Kind regards the Northfield Nursing Home Team.
They were always attentive to all her needs.
When we visited, they were always cheerful, very helpful, pleasant and showed great compassion to all our family.
My mother-in-law, who was confined to bed, with no mental capacity, always looked very clean, comfortable and at peace.
We would like to thank everyone, including reception, housekeeping and catering for everything they did for us.
Thank you so much for your kind review, the staff here at Northfield always take pleasure in knowing that their efforts are recognised and appreciated. We will endeavour to maintain the highest standard of care for every resident here and deeply appreciate your kind words. Our deepest sympathies and condolences to you and your family at this time. Kind regards, Northfield Nursing Home Team.
The care home provides a safe and professional care for its residents. The food is really good. The staff are caring and friendly. The admin staff are excellent, very organised and helpful. The only thing that could be improved is the amount of activities for the residents. Maybe staff could interact with residents more by playing games or reminiscing more.
Thank you for your review. We endeavour to maintain a professional environment at all times which you have kindly noted. We also appreciate your feedback on all our other facilities at Northfield which will undoubtedly be taken on board and if possible, improvements made.
I will recommend Northfield to my family and friends.
Thank you once again.
My husband spent eight weeks in the home when he was having an assessment. The home and the staff were warm and welcoming. The cleanliness and food were excellent. The staff were very helpful and caring and built a good rapport with my husband. If the home had been nearer our home we would have been really happy for him to remain there long term. Thanks to all the staff for the very good care they gave him.
Many thanks for your lovely comments regarding the care your husband received at Northfield. We constantly try to make visitors and residents feel welcome and your review clearly acknowledges this.
I cannot express how wonderful the care my mum received at Northfield in her last two months was. She was transferred from hospital and the difference in atmosphere was immediately noticeable. The quality of care exceeded all the family’s expectations and we will be eternally grateful to all the staff who cared for her so beautifully. She was really comfortable and happy in her surroundings and we could not be more pleased and grateful. Northfield is a bright and happy place, with staff who always went above and beyond to care for our mum. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
What a wonderful review. Our staff will be over the moon with your delightful comments. It is so pleasing to hear that as a family you felt that your mum was safe and secure in our care. We try so hard to make the environment welcoming for both residents and visitors. This review suggests we have achieved this. Thank you again.
Thank you to you all for the care and dedication that you have all shown. It has all been greatly appreciated. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending your nursing home.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments. We feel very humble that you have given 5-star reviews for all our services. Our aim is to be the best we possibly can be and this review is a fine example of that.
My mum very sadly passed away in her sleep last month. Everyone at Northfield was caring, supportive and respectful at our extremely difficult time. Mum was treated with love and compassion and laid out 'at peace'. We were also 'walked' through our next steps in the most supportive and caring manner. Thank you so much to all your wonderful staff!
Your wonderful comments will be passed onto all departments at Northfield. We are overwhelmed by your gratitude towards the staff caring for your mum, but also the staff working in the home who are not directly involved in the care of our residents. Thank you again and best regards to you and the family.
