Northfield is located at Crookesmoor in the heart of Sheffield and is convenient for public transport. This sixty three bed purpose built nursing home offers nursing care and intermediate care over several floors. It has a homely feel and delivers quality care by a team of experienced healthcare professionals.

The home provides separate lounges and dining rooms on each on each floor encouraging residents to socialise. Varied menus with daily choices available. Special diets can be catered for.

Northfield benefits from onsite scheduled services of local GPs. Regular visits are made to the home by experienced Hair Stylists, Dentist and Chiropodist. Other visiting professionals are arranged upon request.

The home recognises the importance of encouraging socialisation amongst residents so a comprehensive Activities Programme is available onsite. These include music, shows, arts and crafts, gardening and regular game sessions.

I am impressed by the attitude of the staff to patients. However, there are often long waits for a response to a buzzer. I appreciate that this is due to insufficient staff. I would like to applaud the flexibility of the catering for individual requests.

From the onset, my father was treated with respect and kindness.
Whoever we spoke to or dealt with professionally was exemplary and made our family feel confident that Dad and Grandad were in a safe, caring place.

My father was a resident for eight months. He was well cared for by professional, considerate and caring staff. The home was serviced by an excellent local surgery who were well versed in the needs of the residents in care.

My dad was an NHS resident in Northfield Nursing Home for only a few weeks and he died there on 17th November. I was privileged to spend a lot of time there with him. He was always treated with compassion and dignity and every member of staff that I come across cared only about providing top quality
care for the residents. My dad had the best quality of care that it was possible to have. I cannot praise the staff of Northfield Nursing Home highly enough. Thank you.

Excellent manager, open door and acts on all problems of which there is very few.

My initial thought on entering Northfield Nursing Home was how clean it was, and the care for my mother was first class.
The first thing she said to me was how nice all the staff were.

My 95-year-old father is happiest I have seen him since the death of my mother two years ago.
The care at Northfield in Sheffield has been excellent in every way.
The staff are all extremely caring, attentive and efficient. The facilities are excellent in every way.
Family, when visiting, have always

My mother only received palliative care for a short space of time, but her care was excellent, we were kept well informed by staff and doctors alike. The admin member of staff who dealt with me was also excellent.


The actual fabric of the building is in need of some attention but did not detract

from my mothers care at all.

My grandma came into Northfields Nursing Home for rehabilitation from hospital. The staff are so friendly and can't do enough for you. They have really looked after my gran. I'm so pleased with the care she is receiving. The home is very clean, standards are very high. You always seem to hear bad things
about care homes but never hear the good things. I'm so glad I've been given the opportunity to fill this form in.

I'm so glad my Mom is being looked at by such caring and dedicated staff. When Mom doesn't feel like talking I sit and watch how kind and patient they are with the residents. They make sure they have company and a natter in the dayroom. Not only do they care for the residents they also look after the
family. My daughter and I can not fault them.

On 5/7/2016 my 81 year old Mother sadly passed away.
She was in rehabilitation care at Northfield after a period somewhere else, her 2nd stay in Northfield, after a previous period in another place.
Mum was extremely ill, frail, unable to walk, eat or look after herself. We, her family were gravely
concerned but wary as to care at Northfield, firstly on 30/04/16. From admittance to discharge on 31/5/16, Mum was walking, eating, had gained weight and came home. The care was of the highest standard, the nursing, physio and overall attention to her wellbeing and improvement was second to none.
Mum fell ill again, spent a week in another place and then the last week of her life at Northfield .
The Northfield team did EVERYTHING possible to make that last week the best it could be not just for Mum but for all of us too. A difficult time was made easier, less stressful because of the respectful, informed, caring, competent way they managed the final days of Mums life. Thank you SO, SO much.
