Our family are very happy with the care Mum is receiving in Northfield House. The home is well-run and the staff are very kind and caring. Our only slight concern relates to the furniture layout in Mum's room. The room itself is fine, but the current layout means that Mum is unable to move freely in her powerchair, or gain access to the view from her window. We feel that the bed and furniture could be repositioned into a more user-friendly layout. Overall, we feel that Northfield is very good and we pass on our thanks to the staff and management.
Thank you for your positive comments regarding our staff and the care offered to your mum. We are always open to suggestions when it comes to improving the lives of our residents and would be happy to discuss any issues which may impact on their well-being.
My mum stayed at Northfield for a respite period, the staff are lovely and very caring. I would absolutely recommend Northfield. The rooms are lovely and clean and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I was very apprehensive about putting my Mum in a nursing home, even for a short period but my worries were quickly gone. The staff work tirelessly and are a credit to Northfield. Thank you so much.
Mum told us that she felt safe in her room and that she was well looked after. We cannot praise everyone at Northfield Nursing Home enough, you helped us so much during a very difficult time in our life. You protected Mum during the Covid years. When we visited everyone made us feel welcome, you always had time to discuss how Mum was doing and when we left we knew that she was in good hands.
Thank you for your kind words which will mean so much to our staff working in what can be, at times, a challenging environment. It is so humbling to know that we also had a positive impact on your life too.
My aunt was in Northfield Nursing Home for almost two and a half years. The staff were brilliant with her, treating her like a lady and doing whatever she wanted. We thank all the staff for all their help and for treating her with dignity in her last few weeks.
Thank you for your kind words which will mean a great deal to the staff at Northfield. We welcome any feedback from families and friends who have been residents with us. Our aim is to be the best we possibly can be and comments like this will give everyone the motivation to achieve this.
Northfield Nursing Home must be one of the best in Sheffield. It is well-managed, clean, welcoming and maintains very high standards of care. The nursing team on the first floor were professional, kind, knowledgeable and friendly. The care given to a frail elderly lady with dementia was exemplary. Every detail was attended to, including access to drinks, applying face cream, hair brushing and comfort. There was a lovely rapport between patients and staff who we cannot thank enough.
We are all absolutely astounded by your five-star review and would like to say a huge thank you to the family of this lady. This will mean so much to the staff at Northfield knowing that they have made such a positive impact on this lady's life and also the family's. This will be a great tonic to staff knowing that their work has been recognised in such a positive manner.
We were always informed of any updates from the staff, I cannot fault the communication from them.
I would highly recommend this nursing home.
Thank you for your positive comments. Our aim is to make people feel welcome and, more importantly, offer a good standard of care. We are so pleased that your mum felt safe and comfortable and also regarded Northfield as her home.
My father's stay was excellent! He was cared for, cherished and loved. What an amazing nursing home and a joy for his last days.
This will mean so much to our staff. It is so gratifying to hear that not only the Service User was satisfied with the care and support they received, but also their family member. Thank you so much from everyone at Northfield.
My mum loved her time in Northfield. The staff were fantastic with Mum. The care home was always spotless. Nursing staff were always on hand to ask questions. Well done, Northfield, five-star - excellent! Not one bad comment to make.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments, which will be passed on to our staff. Everyone at the home works tirelessly to achieve the best possible care for our residents. We all try to work as a team, which clearly shows in this review. Thank you once again.
Mum has been a resident at Northfield Nursing Home since January. Due to the many restrictions of the pandemic, we did not have the chance to view the home for ourselves and were initially unable to visit her. We have always been able to speak to her over the phone and we continue to be very grateful to all the staff for their support and care in these difficult times. Since the lifting of restrictions, we now visit mum in the Pod and we are very happy to see that she always looks clean and well cared for and is very settled there. We are grateful to the staff for making her hair and nails look so lovely. Mum has told us how much she enjoys the activities, particularly making cards and taking part in games of bingo. She has had the opportunity to sit outside in the lovely garden and chat with other residents. If we have any questions or need any help, we always find the staff to be very polite and helpful. We would like to thank all the staff for their continued care and support.
Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback and for your wonderful review. Your words really reflect how hard the staff have worked, and continue to work throughout this challenging time. I will make sure this is communicated back to the staff.
My aunty was in this home for over 3 years and the care she received was fantastic. I couldn't have asked for better. She was really poorly in October, and with Covid19 I couldn't get to see her, but the home kept me updated all the time. She sadly passed away but they were lovely with her and they were very good at phoning me all the time. My aunty was very happy in the home and I am very grateful to the lovely carers. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words it really has been challenging through the year, I am really pleased she was happy living with us during her last few years. The staff have been amazing I agree.
Mum, now 101, moved to Northfield from hospital in November 2019. I was impressed by the care she received from the start and the effort they took to see she was no longer completely bedbound. Since Covid struck in March 2020 I've not been able to visit indoors but kept in touch by phone, WhatsApp and the new visitors pod. Northfield have kept her safe and comfortable and I cannot thank them enough for all they've done for her over the last very difficult year. Thank you to every single member of staff.
Both my late parents were resident in the home, Mum for two years, Dad for four months, and during their stays, they both received very good care and treatment, tailored to their specific needs. In my experience, the dedicated team of staff, whatever their role - professional carers, domestic and admin were hard-working, caring and kind towards the residents. The home has a friendly family atmosphere, which was welcoming to visitors. Every effort was made to help residents feel safe and comfortable. During the pandemic, when visits weren't possible, I remained confident that the home continued to provide the best possible care despite the increased workload and difficult, challenging times faced by staff.
Many thanks for taking the time to give feedback about our service. It is pleasing that you recognise the hard work of our team and you felt your parents were safe with us.
In an age when nursing homes are subject to adverse comment and bad press, this home is an exception. All staff have, in my experience, been kind, courteous, helpful and informative. The administration side has been clear, prompt and efficient. They are doing a wonderful job, even more so under the current difficult covid restrictions. Thank you for all you have done for my relative.
Thank you for your understanding during a challenging time. I am very pleased that you recognise the hard work of our staff.
My mother was a resident at Northfield for approximately three years before she passed away. My overriding impression of Northfield is that all staff did their utmost to provide a caring, supportive and safe environment for the residents and my mother was treated with friendliness, dignity and respect at all times. As a frequent visitor to the home I was always provided with a warm welcome and found the staff to be very efficient and helpful.
Thank you for your kind words I am pleased your mother was treated with dignity and respect and that you both were happy with the service provided.
During these testing times with COVID, the staff has arranged video calls and window visits which have kept us in touch.
Thank you for your feedback, it is lovely to hear that you felt your father received excellent care whilst at Northfield. We will pass these comments onto the staff at the home as they have been absolute superstars throughout this pandemic.
Northfield gave the family the confidence that my mum received the respect and care that she deserved. Mum remained happy at Northfield throughout.
Thank you for your kind comments, I am pleased you felt Mum was happy during her time with us.
A dedicated team who have worked hard to keep COVID-19 out of the nursing home and have succeeded!
This is a wonderful review, which will be fully communicated to all the staff at Northfield. This kind of response reflects on everyone's job within the home. Thank you.
As soon as I arrived I felt cared for not just looked after by everyone. The staff are all amazing, caring, friendly and professional. I could not have asked for more because they all gave me everything and more that I needed. I have worked in the carer world for many years and have visited many many care homes, but I have never experienced one as wonderful as this one. I didn't think one existed. I cannot fault it which is also wonderful.
Thank you so much for your positive comments. Our staff work very hard to try and achieve the best possible care for anyone coming into the home. We try to work as a team and this shows in your very kind comments.
We didn't go inside due to Covid-19 but Mum sent excellent reviews of Northfield Nursing Home. Staff were kind and compassionate to us also, ever happy to let us speak to Mum or to FaceTime daily. The rehabilitation was superb and we can't believe how well she is now, having been hospitalised for a month with Covid-19 before coming to Northfield, aged 95 years. She's moved out today to another nursing home for a month but is considering returning to Northfield if the new one doesn't provide a high standard of care and excellent food. Mum said she would miss her 'angels'.
Thank you for your comments. It is lovely to hear she is really well now. I will pass on her comments to her angels.
After a short stay in 2019, there was no doubt in my mind that when full-time care became necessary, there was only one place for my aunt and that was Northfield. When she was there previously, they had welcomed her and made her so comfortable she had no fears on returning. Thank you to you and your staff for being so caring.
