You are still stating that your rooms are all ensuite which is untrue and since covid, there has hardly been any entertainment for the residents, nothing to keep them busy or occupied. Now they cannot decorate for Halloween or Christmas, why on earth not, it's high time you asked them what they would like.

Reply from Diane Kerwin, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Knowles Court Care Home

Thank you for highlighting that we are incorrectly advertising that our bedrooms have en-suite facilities on the carehome.co.uk web page, we will arrange for this to be corrected as soon as possible.

You are correct that unfortunately during the pandemic there have been restrictions on the type...

very friendly and helpful staff. There are lots of activities to occupy residents. We were given lots of time to visit with Mum as we hadn't physically seen her for 17 months.

The staff here do an excellent job against all the odds stacked against them. It takes a special person to do the job they do. My mum doesn't like being in care, obviously, but she also admits that they do a marvellous job.

I am delighted that I chose Knowles Court for my mother. My initial request was met with an open invitation to visit followed by a warm welcome and tour, accompanied for part of the time by one of the residents. It was immediately apparent that the residents were receiving high-quality care from a professional and dedicated team of experienced and younger staff, but all clearly working within a guiding ethos of care, support and encouragement. Knowles Court has a very homely feel, and one in which my mother settled quickly, and in which she seems so content, something which has obviously been important for her, but also reassuring to me, especially as her illness and infirmity have both progressed. She has even put on weight. Despite her health limitations she is nevertheless encouraged to take part in activities as much as she is able to. Knowles Court (Headley House) has an exceptional team of staff who have given wonderful, dignified and safe care to my mother, as well as many individual examples of kindness, and often bringing back her smile and laughter which have been so much a part of my life.

I visited to see an old family friend who had not been well. She suffers from dementia and is very frail. The care I saw given and the activities that were taking place was a surprise to me. The carers and staff were fantastic. The home was clean and well kept, including the lovely gardens. Well done in an era where nursing the old has had poor reviews over the years.

The staff at Knowles Court Care Home are remarkably good-humoured and patient with the residents no matter what happens. I also found that they were extremely good at keeping in touch with me about my mum. She had lost a lot of weight in the hospital but with the patient help of the staff at Knowles Court Care Home, she has put it back on again.

The nursing unit's strength lies in the good nursing management and their communication and has built up a good relationship with them. All the staff are excellent and they have got to know my friend really well. The unit is well lead who always takes the tie to explain things and the staff work well for her.

My mother has been a resident for five months now, she is being cared for extremely well. On admission to the unit she was underweight, had a poor appetite and was low in her mood. She has gained weight, is always smiling we visit and is talkative. As a family, we have no worries at all. We like the fact she is encouraged to join in the activities. The staff, without exception, are friendly and we see them talking to all the residents.
