I found this nursing care home to very understaffed, having to wait an hour for the bathroom. No activities to stimulate residents, never take residents out or sit them outside. Don’t give them enough to drink.

I have been visiting relatives in this care home since 2015 and my experience has been one of excellent care and compassion and it helps to relieve the feelings of guilt sometimes appearing.

I'm very happy my mum is here and being cared for.

When the time came for my mum to move into a care home, obviously it was a very difficult decision, but the fabulous staff at Knowles Court made the whole process so much easier. She was greeted like family from the very first day and after 2 years there that's still how it feels like mum is part of a family there. Mum is very happy at Knowles Court and I'm happy knowing that she is so well looked after. The carers are amazing and work so hard. They have taken the time to get to know mum and built a lovely relationship with her. Similarly, the carers have taken the time to get to know me and whenever I visit, I always receive the same welcome, a friendly hello, a chat and a cuppa. Knowles court honestly doesn't feel like a 'care home', it feels like a 'family home'.

My mum lived at Headley House, Knowles Court for seven years but sadly passed away in December. In the time she lived there, she was not only looked after, she was loved. The staff made it a home, not just a care home.
In the time Mum was there her dementia made it hard for us but the staff were understanding and caring and the days leading up to her passing the staff could not have done more to ease her pain and make her comfy and help us through a bad time.

I could not have wanted anywhere better for my mum to spend the last seven years of her life.

My father has been well fed and cared for since the moment he arrived. The nurses are vigilant about his needs and act promptly when necessary. The atmosphere is informal and friendly and staff are always amenable. My father could not be in a better place.

It is a real concern when you have to commit to care, a much-loved parent, so it was with trepidation that I placed my 86 year old mum with Fairfax House in Knowles Court.

But there was no need for any concern at all, for I doubt there is a better standard of care delivered throughout the whole of the United Kingdom. The staff are exemplary in their care, concern and empathy, all have long term tenure and show a genuine concern for maintaining the long term health and happiness of their charges. I cannot praise the care team enough who look after my mum.

I doubt there are many facilities where the unit manager bakes cakes, treats clients long into the night in their limited free time and bring fresh produce from their own garden as treats. Such kindness demonstrates a level of care above the expected baseline indeed.

Thank you for looking after my mum so very well and making her feel so very welcome and safe, words cannot thank you enough.

My mother stayed approximately 9 months in the home and was treated with great care and dignity. All the staff were tremendous and very supportive.

My mother's only complaint was the shouting and screaming of some of the other residents - those suffering from dementia? It would be a good idea if, at Knowles Court, one house could be used to accommodate non-dementia patients so that they lived in a more peaceful atmosphere.

Care and nursing care very good. My mother and myself have been treated with sympathy, good care and information at the end of her life. At first, we found the information poor and felt that nursing and care staff struggled to find time for admin issues e.g wheelchair referrals. Dealing with such issues yourself as much as you can. Special mention to the member of staff in the finance office who has been a calm and patient source of reliable information. Nursing and care staff knowledgeable and compassionate. Patients always clean, and laundry comes back reliably.

Our family cannot thank the management and staff at Fairfax House, Knowles Court enough, from when mum went in, right to when she passed away. Also, the support the staff gave us as a family. Every single member of the staff provided the care and time that mum required. They are so professional.
