My father recently passed but has spent nine years in the care home in which he was very happy.

Dear Bernadette, Thank you for these lovely words. I have shared these with the rest of the team. We truly believe in looking after our residents as you would your family member. Mum is truly missed in the home as she was such a presence. Dexter also misses his breakfast bacon. :)
Hello,Thank you so much for your kind words. It means a great deal to us to know that, during such a difficult time, we were able to bring even a small measure of comfort to you and your family. We truly did our very best, and we are grateful to have been able to support you in any way we could.
It was our pleasure to look after such a gentle person at Mill Lodge. We know that a person's dementia journey not only affects them but also their family, and we try and aim to be there for the families too every single step of the way. Dexter and I will personally miss him on our daily walk around . I know Dexter loved putting his head on your father's chest giving your dad a little comfort and joy.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We always believe that we extend our caring abilities to our residents' families. It gives us a sense of accomplishment that you have felt that staff are kind and empathetic towards you and your wife.
We try and aim to not only be there for the resident but also for their family members, too. We will continue to keep doing what we are doing and your kind words are much appreciated.
Thank you very much. That is so lovely to hear. We are glad to know that we made his and your life a little bit easier when he was here.

Thank you very much for this compliment. We strive to work hard as a team to ensure our residents are looked after very well.
Hi Mark, your dad has left a void in Mill Lodge, especially in the Bronte Unit. Despite his comorbidity, you could still see his caring and gentle nature. We are absolutely delighted to know that we have made an impact in your father's life, especially in his final year.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us feedback. We always aim to achieve better delivery of care to our residents in the home. I am glad to hear that your mum is content and comfortable at Mill Lodge.
Thank you very much for taking the time to give us a review. This will help us ensure that we are always aiming to deliver the best care to our residents.
Thank you so much for these lovely words. Yes, you are right. We are not a hotel but we aim to have a homely environment. A home away from home. And we are proud of that!
We have always stated that we are with you in this journey. A familiar face can sometimes provide comfort and respite when you don't know how long the journey is going to be.
Thank you very much for this lovely review. We are so glad to hear that we are making a difference in Mum's situation - no matter how small it is.
Hi Andrew,
Thank you so much for these nice words. Your father was part of Mill Lodge family and we will never forget him. He was a character and we adored him.
Thank you so much for these kind words. We treat all of our residents individually according to their needs and figure out what works best for them. We ensure that all care given to our residents is personalised.
Thank you so much for this lovely review. We adore your mum here at Mill Lodge and also her cheeky sense of humour! Not to mention that sometimes she puts us in our place. Our aim is to treat each person as an individual, find out what their quirks are, and we build our relationship with them from there.
Dear George,
Your mum's positive outlook on life resonated with all of us here at Mill Lodge. She was a one-of-a-kind lady. Though she may not have spent a long time with us, but she has definitely left an indelible mark at Mill Lodge. Thank you for sharing these nice words with us.

I started my career as a carer in the UK in 2009 and got my nursing qualification in 2012 and worked my way through the ranks. I became a unit manager in a 42 bedded nursing dementia home in Cheshire East before relocating to Leeds and eventually landing my feet at Mill Lodge. I started as a bank nurse in Mill Lodge in 2017 and became home manager in 2019.
I am very passionate about the delivery of high standard care, dementia care, and end of life care. I love walking through Mill Lodge at the beginning of the day, seeing colleagues and having a chat, and getting the day off to a good start. I enjoy catching up with residents during the day, talking to them and finding out what they’ve been up to.
On my day off, I love to go on walks with my labrador, Dexter, who is now becoming very popular at Mill Lodge.
Hello!
I'm Dexter - mascot/bacon eater/toast thief! I'm the manager's dog. Even though he is the home manager, I run the home. I am more well-liked by both residents and staff than him.
I have been coming here since I was 14 weeks old and I have been to a lot of mischief, too! I try to behave sometimes especially when my human is around.
A lot of the residents find me amusing and a lot of them also find me therapeutic. My human told me I seemed to have a knack for comforting other humans, easing their loneliness and boredom. I know which rooms I can go to for treats. Crumbs on the floor? No problem!
Anyway, I hope I get to see you here at Mill Lodge soon! Please bring some treats!
